Low Mouthlock Cottage

Located in Barras near Kirkby Stephen is a stunning looking cottage which sleeps 8 and welcomes up to 2 pets. There are some lovely character features such as a wood burner in the lounge and a beamed dining room.

The kitchen is farmhouse style which adds to the charm and character of the place. There is also a little snug with TV.

The enclosed lawned garden is perfect for pet friendly holidays and you can enjoy the garden furniture and firepit.  We love the rural location of this cottage which is perfect for exploring both the Lakes and the Dales National Parks.

Keswick Pet Friendly Retreats

Apple Barn

Apple Barn near Keswick is another wonderful choice for a dog friendly break in Cumbria. A quirky and cute property – this one sleeps 4 and welcomes 1 pet. The grade 4 star rating is reflective of the high finish to the interior and the great facilities on offer.

The living area is open plan with a wooden floor, Smart TV and bluetooth speakers. Outside you will find a gorgeous courtyard with garden furniture. This cottage has been renovated to a very high standard indeed.

Both contemporary and yet maintaining it’s barn style it makes a fantastic choice for a cottage holiday. The open plan living and kitchen area are on the first floor which makes the most of the amazing views of the fells all around.

The Lake District is fantastic for outdoor activities and Apple Barn is perfectly placed to make the most of this. Walking, cycling and climbing are all on the doorstep and Blencathra and Catbells are just a few miles away. For water sports you can head to Derwentwater which is just 2 miles away, you can also enjoy sailing here.

Families and couples will love a trip to The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite.

The busy tourist town of Keswick is an easy walk from the cottage around one and half miles away or you could take a taxi ride which is just 5 minutes.

There is so much to do in Keswick and if you like shopping you will love the independant shops and wide range of outdoor clothing shops. The pubs and restaurants are welcoming and serve a wide range of traditional English pub lunches.

Linton Cottage

Staying in the Keswick area Linton is another lovely pet friendly cottage which sleeps 6. Two pets are welcome at this cottage.

A terraced property offering lots of internal space, this will appeal to families looking for a Lake District base close to all the action.

There are three bedrooms and there is a bonus of a south facing courtyard which gets the sun for most of the day. You are just five minutes walk into the centre of Keswick with it’s vibrant atmosphere.

The deli’s, bakeries and coffee shops are not to be missed.

For a taste of culture then the Theatre by the Lake is half a mile away offering drama and arts on the banks of Derwentwater.

Riverside Mill and Glamping Pod

For the WOW factor…

For a unique dog friendly holiday in the Lakes we love Riverside Mill and Glamping Pod. This property sleeps 9 people and allows two dogs.

One of the really unique features of this house is that it comes with it’s own glamping pod in the grounds. The glamping pod comes equipped with a small kitchen area and shower room. it’s a fun place to stay for couples or older children.

The main cottage is actually a converted working mill and comes with a spacious open plan interior. The outside of the cottage is stunning set in established gardens and with the river running alongside.

This dog friendly retreat will appeal to couples and families looking for the ideal base to explore. Dogs will love the network of walks in the Lake District National Park.

Close by is the market town of Kendal just four and a half miles away. With a 14th century castle, shops, museum and restaurants it’s a vibrant place to explore – and of course famed for it’s Kendal Mint Cake.

You will receive a welcome pack when arriving at the cottage and there is private parking for 5 cars. The lawned garden comes with garden furniture and also a gas BBQ to make the most of the fresh lake district air.
