3 Station Cottages Reviews

Fantastic location, lovely cottage, only downside the double mattress was a bit to firm for me but i just slept in one of the singles so that was ok.
Station cottage is warm, clean and fairly well equipped. A microwave and hair dryer would be useful. It's well located close to town centre, just a 10 minute walk and literally a few yards from a very nice bistro at railway station. This was our 3rd visit, and would recommend.

Just had a week in this lovely Grade II listed stone cottage. Everything we needed, private parking, real wood fire, nice bottle of Shiraz on arrival. Perfect location at Wymondham train station, for day trips to Norwich, and the coast Cromer is lovely. Wymondham itself 10 mins walk is gorgeous, very old pubs, Abbey, museum and friendly shops. Sainsbury Art Centre also worth a visit. Easy drive to Wroxham for boat hire or river trips. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
A lovely Norfolk cottage in an excellent position to travel elsewhere with the train just a few steps away. Wymondham is excellent but you can go to Norwich, Great Yarmouth in one direction if you wish and Ely Cambridge and London in the other. Perfect ! .
Nice quiet location but needs a few things seen to. This properties bathroom toilet in on the ground level which for some could be inconvenient, the shower head keeps dropping so be aware when showering, and the mattress on the double bed in the back bedroom needs replacing. I'd also like to add that we tried contacting the owners on the 3 telephone numbers listed for a couple of small queries and never had a call back from any messages left.

Very kind and helpful hosts.

The cottage was great for our 2 year old. He loved the garden, seeing the trains from his bedroom window and playing with the toys in the cottage! The welcome pack with wine and biscuits was gratefully received. The cottage was a great location for getting to a variety of places in Norfolk. Recommended the Station Bistro right by the cottage! The downstairs could have been cleaner as there was a lot of animal hair when we arrived and needed to sweep it up. But other than that, a great stay and we would likely book again!

We have stayed here a few times now as we have family living in Wymondham. It is clean and comfortable. As others have said, some of the furniture has changed from that shown in the photos. However, this didn't cause us any inconvenience.
A character cottage next to the railway station in the historic and lovely town of Wymondham. I added a star for each of these points. The cottage is spacious and well laid out with a great garden and great walks nearby. Unfortunately, inside it's in need of tlc and a clean. Many items including microwave broken on arrival and the bed as mentioned in previous reviews is not the one in the photos so problematic for someone like me over 6' 2 with the footboard. The boiler kept loosing pressure resulting in a lack of hot water and heat. I did tell the owner. In addition there appears to be brown rats in the back garden which was a bit disappointing. This was my 4th and final visit unfortunately.
Our second visit to this cottage. Comfortable, warm and very clean cottage. Well equipped kitchen. The cottage is full of character with private parking. Only meters away from railway station, but surprisingly very little noise. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cosy convenient cottage. My parents came to stay for a few days and wanted to stay close by and this was perfect. Lovely little welcome pack that we all enjoyed. Very comfortable double bed sofas and chairs also very comfortable. Very quiet, didnt really notice much noise from train. Great to be able to go for breakfast at The Station Bistro, The Railway Pub also close by for meals. We would definitely book this again.
Had a lovely stay. The only negative thing is, the WiFi speed is very slow.

Gorgeous 2 bedroom cottage which we have stayed in for the second time. Great location, right next to Wymondham train station and an easy 7 in walk into town where there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Great welcome pack on arrival which is a lovely touch. Including biscuits, wine, milk, tea bags, coffee etc. Beautiful and clean. Lovely secure garden. We will definitely be back again.
We enjoyed our week at station cottage great location right next to the station and not far from Wymondham. Well equipped with everything u could need. The dog enjoyed the garden. There were a couple of things which had been changed from the listing which should be updated on the website the sofas are now leather with a 2 x seater and 2 arm chairs, the double bed has been changed and now has a footboard so wouldn't be great for people who are tall and there was no jacuzzi bath like the listing said. Overall was a cosy cottage for week. Thanks.
3 Station Cottages is a lovely, well equipped Cottage. It has a lovely garden which our Labrador, Hector, particularly enjoyed. On arrival we were delighted to find a welcome package including a bottle of wine, coffee and treats for Hector which was lovely and very much appreciated. The cottage is within easy walking distance of Wymondham and although adjacent to the Railway station was very quiet. The cottage catered for all our needs and Wymondham was a great base camp for excursions into Norwich, Suffolk and the Norfolk Broads. Thank you for a lovely week away
We recently stayed at nr 3 Station Cottages 2x adults, 2x teens and a dog and had a great time. The cottage itself was ideally located, within throwing distance of a cafe bar in the old station house, and just a quick 10 minutes walk from Wymondham centre and the local supermarket, and a 2025 mins drive of Norfolk and the broads. The cottage itself was lovely. A good size, clean and comfortable, although the master bed was not suitable for someone of my size 6' 7 ! due to the footboard D The amenities were all modern and easy to use, and the shower was a good height with good pressure. We specially enjoyed the random collection of dvd's! Thanks very much to the owners. The Matthews'
We loved staying in this lovely cosy cottage, the delighful welcome basket of coffee , wine and biscuits was a lovely welcome and so very thoughtful. We felt the owners really understood what guests would like ,extra towells bedding etc , especially a book full of local interest ,places worth visiting and arriving late knowing where to eat was a so helpful . The cottage is well equipped with instructions for use of boiler and general housekeeping info and a full working smart TV which was already set up . The position of the cottage was just great as we were able to travel conveniently by train on most of the days, Super visit to Great Yarmouth and Sheringham .Wymondham is such a pretty place and well worth a walk around to appreciate it , garden and patio was loved by our labrador who settled very well there. We would love to return to the area in the future . Thank you Sykes for all the valuable information you kindly sent in preparation for our stay, I have been so impressed that we will be looking into booking another stay with you next year or earlier if possible. Kind regards Chris and family.

Firstly good points, location of property excellent, nice garden and Wymondham really quaint place with good dog friendly pubs serving good food something we always look for when booking cottages. But this cottage needs a bit of TLC and a proper deep clean, few other comments on general maintenance needs addressing oven extractor fan not working, bulbs replacing etc.. We had an issue with an ants nest under front window which the owner did tell us about and they had put some powder down, but the ants still came in though the front window not ideal as you can imagine we put some powder down inside and it sorted it thankfully! The photos show a patio set brolley which wasn't there which as it averaged 26 degrees restricted us from sitting outside a lot. The stairs very narrow and steep and bathroom downstairs we found to be bit of a pain especially with 4 adults in the cottage. All in all holiday ok but won't be booking this one again unfortunately.

Very nice property, good facilities, private garden. Would recommend the Station Bistro which is very close to the property. Wymondham is also a very nice townvillage with decent shops and pubs.
I made a detailed complaint about the general level of maintenance and cleanliness of this property. Too many things to list here. The owner is already aware of my comments and I hope they will act on them. The cottage is charming and has many preserved historic features. The bathroom and kitchen are in need of some updating, repairs and deep cleaning though. The kitchen in particular is very unhygienic. Sykes are using old photos of the cottage that do not represent the current state of the property.
Lovely cottage within walking distance of town centre. If you have mobility problems the stairs could be differcult they are steep and narrow but what would be expected in a cottage of this era. The owners were very helpful with a quiry and came back quickly. Much quieter than I expected.
Mum and I loved this house, garden, parking, location, Station Bistro. The garden is beautiful and private. The trains are soothing not annoying. The end of our holiday came far too quickly.
A very comfortable cottage in an excellent position .
Johanna
Fabulous cottage. Perfect location. Larger than the pictures looked.

This is our second time staying here. We love the easy access for trains, main road A11, and just a short walk into Wymondham. The cottage maybe old but has a lovely charm about it, the wood burner in winter is a bonus for cosy nights in.
I loved this cottage and I soon felt at home . The location is good in that you have access to trains, north or south, just a few steps away . And Wymondham is a beautiful little Norfolk town .
A nice cottage with parking, a nice comfortable loungedinning room, kitchen with all the bits req , a nice back garden and patio area. Also a double bed to rear and a twin to front. Also a very nice and handy bistro in old station with great breakfast cottage was located 78 minutes to walk in to town which was handy to eat and drink in town without driving and lastly very central to drive for all locations in Norfolk yes would recommend
We had a lovely break in this cottage, which was comfortable, and wellequipped. Many thanks for the little extras which we much appreciated. Would recommend! And we'll be back. Thank you.

We had a lovely weeks stay in No 3 Station cottage. Very clean and comfortable with tasteful decor and furnishings . The pretty little garden is nice to sit out in and being fully enclosed suitable for dog owners to let their dog run around and play. Lots of walks around and the town is a walkable distance with many little shops and cafes. The Railway Hotel only a short distance walk away for meals and Station Bistro also serves food during the day. It is suitable equally for a couple or family. We would definitely like to visit again and would happily recommend a holiday there.
Cosy cottage a short walk from the town centre of Wymondham. We enjoyed our stay very much everything was well cared for and in good working condition. Nice and sheltered seating in the garden, quiet environment.
Christopher
We had a lovely week staying in Wymondham it's a beautiful fun town with lots to do. The cottage is cute, and old! As other people have said, it could possibly be updated, but then it might lose its charm. The garden is lovely we spent most of the time out the back, watching the wren tending to her nest.
Lovely cottage with good size well maintained garden patio set sitting out for breakfast , cosy quaint interior, very homely and welcoming comfortable bed nice dog friendly place with plenty of walks. Station bistro just across way ideal for breakfast Only one little bear bug the two sofas had no support really other than that we would gladly go back and we had a great week
