3 The Cottages Reviews

Tracy Chivers
Lovely cottage 15 mins walk to the beach. Really comfortable, clean and the pub across the road is a must. Nice enclosed garden for dogs . A home from home situated close to amenities and the sea front. Highly recommended
Perfect accommodation and lovely garden although we had to wipe down the garden furniture before use and a seat cushion would have been nice. We have at least one holiday each year in Norfolk so comparing this was the first not to leave a welcome pack and no toilet roll! A stool in the bedroom , a non slip mat for the shower, a blind in the bedroom overlooked maybe egg cups and pasta bowls are all needed. The sink with no drainer was difficult as every surface got wet and a scourer pad would have been useful . Not as well equipped as most places we have stayed in.. we have always found things like salt and pepper and even oil for cooking but this place is stripped bare ! Apps only TV was a pain and we felt uneasy with the security cameras as if we were being watched even though they said they were turned off for our stay. We had a wonderful week exploring with our dog and found some great places to eat not the pub opposite though it was terrible food. Overall a great holiday .
We chose No 3 on the enclosed garden for our dog. it was super for her. The beds were comfortable and the sofa was adequate for the small time we spent in the house. We did think that the quantity of crockery was a bit sparce but the cupboards needed to be reorganised.Maybe the saucepans and cooking items would be better on the shelves that held the plates. We would like to thank the owners for supplying a Cafetiere at short notice and having it delivered. The bathroom was lovely and we had no problems with privacy as mentioned in an earlier review. Not sure why there was so many bags of ice in the freezer but it was very over frozen. Overall we had an excellent stay with the pub in walking distance from No 3 The Sunday roast was amazing and we ate there again before we returned home. We would definitely return and found the village extremely friendly too

We found the property exactly as described, and the overall presentation was very good. The interior was clean throughout, and all the appliances we used were in full working order. The garden was well kept and gave the impression of being regularly cared for. The WiFi provision was also reliable, with speeds of around 38 mbps during our stay, which was perfectly adequate for our needs. There were, however, a few areas where the guest experience could be improved. On arrival there was no welcome pack, and the absence of milk was particularly noticeable. The containers for tea and coffee were empty, and the sugar jar contained only a small amount. Only one roll of toilet paper had been provided, which did not last the duration of our stay in previous holiday cottages we have usually found at least three. Similarly, basic condiments such as salt, pepper and vinegar were not supplied, though these are commonly provided elsewhere. The information folder did not include any guidance on bin collection, although the three external bins were clearly marked. We were able to look up the local schedule online, but a note in the property literature would be helpful. Only two dishwasher tablets were supplied, which felt a little limited for a weeklong stay. Finally, the proximity of the neighbouring static caravan site occasionally caused the WiFi location to misidentify Hemsby as being in Italy.
The cottage was clean on arrival except for a dirty grill pan which we did not use. No terrestrial tv only apps. It was the first cottage in over ten years that did not provide a welcome pack. Lack of toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and fairy liquid was watered down. Bathroom and kitchen had no blinds. The location of the cottage is good, and the garden is lovely,
I stayed here with my 2 year old daughter for 5 days and cannot speak highly enough of the property. Was clean top to bottom. Instructions provided for everything in the property. Everything worked perfectly and its a great location too!! Thank you so much for having us
Been a few times to this cottage but this time felt it wasnt as clean as it has been. Dishwasher left with crockery in it by previous occupants, grill not clean. Just in generally didnt have thats sparkle. Disappointing. There is a internet box under the bed in the main bedroom with flashing lights, that made my wife a bit frightened when she turned the light out. The thought of it under the bed worried her.

Such a lovely cosy cottage, everything you need and close to some lovely beaches. It isnt on the main road, it is set back, so make sure you check the instructions before trying to find it!
Lovely cottage with good quality furniture ,bedding etc. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Well situated for visiting lots of lovely places
Angela
This was our 3rd visit to this cottage and everything was as perfect as our first stay. We sat our every morning for breakfast in the fully enclosed garden, which is very peaceful.Everything lovely and clean and great facilities, hopefully will make a 4th visit next year!. One suggestion would be a bigger lamp in the living room.
Lovely property very clean and we loved the garden thank you. Ruth

One thing that rather spoils it being a holiday is the constant reminders to leave the property tidy etc. We absolutely fully appreciate why, but it is a holiday after all, and not leaving army accommodation, or boarding school. A welcome tray would be a nice extra. And one spare loo roll would be nice.
This lovely little cottage was ideally situated for exploring the coast and Norfolk Broads. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and the pretty little enclosed garden was safe if you take a dog. Lovely pub across the road with home cooked food and local ales. Enjoyed our short stay very much and hopefully will be able to return one day.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this lovely cottage. It is cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The enclosed garden was great for our dog. We were lucky with the weather so we sat out in the garden in evening its a great little sun trap ! Its also in a good location for visiting the Broads and the fantastic beaches nearby. There is a pub straight across the road with very friendly locals food there ok not great. Thank you to the owners for a lovely stay.
This was our third visit to The Cottages, and as before, the property was spotless and had everything you could possibly need. The weather was beautiful so we enjoyed the beach walks too! Thank you once again.
The cottage itself was beautiful and located perfectly for all amenities. The space was ideal for us and our dog. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. We were disappointed to find a shower curtain instead of the screen as shown in the photographs. We would not have chosen to stay knowing this. We deliberately chose this cottage for this, as most cottages have shower curtains and this one didnt. We found the bin instructions, but they didn't actually cover our dates of stay. We put out what everyone else had. It was a shame the tv didn't work on normal channels, however we could access the app channels easily. Despite these small issues we had a lovely stay.
Lorraine
Lovely cottage and gardens . Just a couple of negative things for us. 1. Not having the channels on the T.V , we found having to download the app for each channel was very inconvenient and No.2 the shower was in a very strange position, like right in the corner which made us feel that we could not shower properly and the shower curtain was very annoying but this is personal to us as we are used to a glass screen . Oh and no tea towel for the kitchen, ee did not bring one as it said towels were supplied. And not having control with the heating. It was very cold a few nights we was there , my husband tried to go by the instructions in the book to boost the heating but to no avail . The cottage is in a ideal position for using as a base to go off to other coastal areas I.e Caister, Cromer, Yarmouth. All in all we had a good holiday .
This is a lovely holiday cottage well worth a visit
A fantastic cottage which is really clean and tidy. The garden is enclosed and very pet friendly. Being in the village means it's very quiet which suited us but only a 7 minute walk to shops and no more than 15 to beach, arcades and restaurants. 10 out of 10 stay, cheers.

The only thing was that the sun through the kitchen window over the sink was blinding in the evening especially if sitting on the sofa or working at the sink. It could really do with some sort of blind. Overall the cottage was exceptional. Thank you for a really lovely stay and we will certainly use Sykes Cottages again
We had a five night stay at 3 The Cottages Hemsby. This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The cottage is immaculately clean and has everything you could need. Very comfortable beds, good quality towels provided. The enclosed garden was lovely to sit in and was ideal for our Labrador. We will definitely return to this property again for a future break, the location is excellent for exploring the coast, with a pub across the road, which sells very nice food and is dog friendly. I couldnt fault this cottage it had everything we needed. We travelled with our twelve year old granddaughter, who did mention a couple of things, she would have liked a mirror in the twin room and a blind curtain on the bathroom window, but very minor things, she said the bed was the comfiest she had slept on. We hope to stay again soon.
This was our 3rd or 4th stay at the cottage and staying again in September, we love the cottage. Well situated for shops, beach etc. No traffic noise & no noise from pub opposite.
Angela
It was our 2nd time staying in this cottage and was just as perfect as our last stay, everything spotlessly clean, really comfortable beds, the garden is perfect for our dog and is fully enclosed.
Exceptionally clean and comfortable cottage. So many lovely beaches and food at the Fishermen's Return comes highly recommended.
We had a fabulous weekend at 3,The Cottages. A lovely 20 minute stroll to the beach, a great dog friendly pub yards away and the cottage was warm, comfy and a home from home. Weve already rebooked to come back later in the year. Thank you!
Everything about this cottage was exceptional. The owners had provided sundry items for every kind of need. We often washed up rather than run a half empty large dishwasher!
Tracey
3 The Cottages is a superb cottage, very clean and well laid out. Our dog loved the enclosed garden too.
Angela
Fantastic cottage, very clean, comfy beds, lovely bedding,in fact everything perfect. Hemsby is a very quiet village, the cottage is a short 20 minute walk to the beach and amusement arcades and over the road from the local pub, that does excellent food. A great enclosed garden for our small dog also.
Christine
Very comfortable cottage ,set in good location. Shop and pub close by as well as takeaway .
Excellent accommodation, very comfortable, well presented, have already booked twice for next year.
We have just arrived home after a four night stay at the property. Everything about this cottage was just beautiful. It was comfortable, spotless and very well presented to a high spec. The owners have clearly thought about everything down to the last little detail. A quiet road, a lovely little pub and an easy 20 minute walk to the beach. A relaxing few days walking and sightseeing.
Danuta
Couldnt fault this property in any way. The overall ambiance of the property was very homely, Very tasteful colour scheme throughout. Everything was spotless , bed linen of a high quality, so were the towels. The wood burner was a great addition during a cold weather of January, Well done Lorna and Chris
Catherine
The cottage is fantastic. On arrival it was extremely clean and very nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of drawers to store belongings. The welcome pack was very informative and gave a lot of ideas on what to do in the area. The cottage had everything we needed for self catering which was great and the owners had taken into consideration previous feedback from other occupiers to make staying there more comfortable. We loved the village and spent a great week exploring the area. We even hired a boat for 3 hours and picnicked on the broads which was excellent. On colder evenings the log fire was perfect to relax in front of. All in all this was a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend a stay here.
Good location. Comfy cottage. Convenient services.
Cathryn
A beautifully presented well equipped home from home. A fantastic location with everything you need within walking distance. One of the best holiday let's we have ever stayed in
The house was exactly as described. Very pleasant, extremely clean, all key pieces available in the house. Location was good and we easily made our way to nearby beaches Hemsby and Great Yarmouth. We also visited Cromer which was 50 mins away. Beds were comfy and bathroom nice and clean with a decent shower. Quiet location and certainly not disturbed, even though pub was only 100 yards away. Very enjoyable stay. Lounge sofas could be a tad comfier but otherwise all good.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, thank you. It is very family friendly and there were some lovely touches like the nightlight, toys and childrens kitchenware which were lovely additions. The garden was great too! The only additional thing which could be useful was an clothes airer and some pegs for the washing line apologies if there were there & I missed them. The fridge just needed an additional wipe but was lovely & big and there was some pet hair on the sofa not an issue for us but may be if people have allergies and the shower had a bit of a tendency to leak but overall the house was clean, spacious, in a great location and we really enjoyed our holiday. Thank you.
Elizabeth
Amazing little cottage. Superbly fitted out and decorated. Beds were super comfy. Lovely garden to sit and relax in. One of the best cottages I have ever stayed in.
