Abbey Farm House Reviews

Just arrived from from a week holiday at Abbey farmhouse celebrating my 70th ... Just arrived from from a week holiday at Abbey farmhouse celebrating my 70th birthday with family and friends, Abbey farmhouse has everything you could think of to have an excellent family holiday, the teenagers appreciated the snooker and football table and darts, everyone was amazed at the big screen where we all 15 of us and 2 dogs celebrated Scotland winning their first game of the World Cup, We also had cinema nights, the use of a brand new barbecue was just wonderful, when the weather was kind, we loved the hot tub , overall we had an amazing time at Abbey farmhouse, and definitely recommend , downstairs was a bit tired, but meant we could relax with the children and the 2 dogs, upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely well maintained and all the beds were very comfortable, Definitely a great find for large family get togethers

We were made very welcome by Jacki who showed us round the property and told us everything we needed to know for our stay. Abbey farmhouse is a lovely house, very quirky, good size rooms and it is full of character and charm. The facilities are excellent and suited our party of 12 people ranging from teenagers to 80, plus dogs are very well catered for. Thank you for a lovely stress free stay.
Sandra
We had a lovely week with my family and all of my 8 grandchildren. Abbey Farm was the perfect house for all of us and perfect location for the beach. Thank you so much! Kind regards Sandra
I spent a lovely weekend at Abbey Farm for my 60th birthday. It's a great place to gather friends for a celebration. It's a big house with lots of space and lots of activities for everyone. It's ideally placedfor seaside walks. I would highly recommend it.
This property is an absolute dream. There was everything we needed to make it feel home from home. There was 16 of us plus 4 dogs and it had something for all of us. Situated in a great area. Near enough for walks and sightseeing and the beach and sea near too. Highly recommend

What an amazing find for my husband's surprise 60th Birthday with family. Perfect place for us to celebrate with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The weather wasn't the best but we made use of the hot tub. Beach was a few minutes walk away and highly recommend the Beach House cafe. A huge thank you to Jacki who was so helpful from the moment I booked. A great time was had by all.
Michael
Large, spacious property that was ideal for our extended family holiday. Hot tub, pool table and large TVfamily room were a big hit with the kids. Great location for the beach and perfect having so many parking spaces at the property. Jacki & her husband were extremely helpful in preparation for and during our stay. Only negative comment was that, and possibly to be expected with older houses, the toilets needed a bit of time to flush which wasn't always ideal with so many people in the house.
Tracey
We had a wonderful week at Abbey Farm. There was an abundance of household supplies which was great. JackI was amazing and nothing was too much trouble if we had a query. She also kept in touch prior to the visit with directions, places to eat etc.
Terence
Excellent property for a large group with a large kitchen and comfortable bedrooms with plenty of bathsshowers. Jacuzzi and pool table were a bonus particularly as we didn't have the best of weather, and the giant screen tv system in the upstairs lounge was great, although it was difficult to connect the sound to the screen for us non tech people. overall a very enjoyable stay.
Abbey Farm House is an excellent get together house. It is cosy and clean, and really well presented throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, and we all enjoyed chatting around the table, and relaxing in the hot tub outside. St Bees is a lovely little town, with a beautiful beach just a 10 minute walk away from the farmhouse. The hosts were extremely welcoming, and left us a welcome basket full of delicious goodies. Thank you for letting us stay. We would definitely recommend Abbey Farm House as a great place to stay.
We were a party of 12 staying for the weekend. The property was excellent and ideal for what we needed with plenty of extra space left for larger groups. Great location in walking distance of the two main pubs in the village. We were met by Jacki who was very helpful and she kept in contact over the weekend to make sure all was ok. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms great, the kitchen a great space to all be together and a nice terrace area when the sun was shining. We saw a couple of indifferent reviews before we booked but now having visited the place ourselves, all of our group agreed it was a lovely property and location and we would have no hesitation recommending it or visiting again ourselves. The food at The Manor Inn was fantastic also. We had a great weekend and could not fault anything at all.
You gave us the wrong number for the key safe which we obtained the correct number from the caretaker. The caretaker did an exceptional job in welcoming us on site showing us around and being available when ever we needed. This person and her husband are ambassadors for UK Breaks. Every year i take all my family away for a week, and this is the first time we have had such support from the caretaker. Parking a bit tight for us all and dangerous on a bend in the road.
We had a lovely week. The house was plenty big enough for us all and the dogs. The toilet at the top of the house blocked a few times. The property is looking a little tired and may need a little TLC, but none of that spoiled our stay. The beds were comfy, bedding and towels spotless. We'll done, I say and Thankyou.
Brilliant location and great facilities at the house. Would definitely recommend
The property is amazing, a great size and has most facilities and entertainment you would need. The lovely hot tub was most welcome after a day trecking turn it on as soon as you get there to allow for heating up time Although the huge screen in the lounge is a novelty, we felt a decent sized tv would be better as screen clarity isnt good. There was a major issue with a backed up toilet as soon as we arrived needs a much more efficient Macerator and water pressure in some showerstaps dropped drastically if others using bathrooms. Phil and team were contactable and tried to get issues rectified as soon as possible. Some general maintenance required, and the double room on ground floor was unappealing we didnt use it and took the small twin on top floor instead. Not ideal for an adult However, the other rooms were all lovely, nice beds, clean linen and blankets plenty of it. Great situation for the beautiful beach at St Bees, a 3060 min drive in to visit the lakes.
Property is very rundown ,called a plumber at the beginning of the holiday no one had arrived the whole time we was there so we had left a note on the toilet seat for the cleaners as most of the toilets not working very well. Dirty plates and bowls were in the cupboard day we arrived. carpets need redoing.cobwebs , dust etc day we arrived just as the cleaners had left!! I was very disappointed as I myself had planned for this for all the family to come to and they were not very happy with the whole thing, made me feel very unhappy as looked very different to the pictures.everything is just very rundown!!
Amazing stay! Thank you!
We had a great time but St Bees isnt a great family holiday location as the activities around are not extensive. The day we went to the railway it was closed due to a power cut! The house is lovely but lacks sufficient seating in a lounge and round a table for 16 and does not have enough mugs and plates The owners were very responsive to the fence blowing over in the storm
The house is amazing, my only criticism would be there needs to be a brush for the pool table in the drawer
