Aquanaut Reviews

We came to stay at the Aquanaut for a family holiday. Excited by the prospect of the hot tub my disabled sister's special interest is hot tubs! we made the booking. We spent upwards of 3k for the week we are not wealthy. This was a huge expense for us and one we were hoping would mean we could relax whilst my sister could chill in the hot tub no activity planning needed! On the day of our arrival, we were told via email that everything was in working order. We were then swiftly told that the swimspa was broken, but the owner suggested we were welcome to sit in it anyway, despite it being cold. No thanks! The Swim Spa is a hot tub. That it was slightly warmer than your usual outdoor pool is redundant. Outdoor pools are cold. You warm up by swimming. The owner knows as well as I do that sitting in a cold tub is absolutely not what we signed up for and was not an option for us. How would you like to sit in a cold hot tub? Is that seriously an option? To give you a sense of how central this feature is to the listing 6 of the 35 images 17.1 are of the swim spa, and it appears in 4 of the 23 listed features thats 17.4. 17.4 of 3219.00 is 560. At the very least the compensation offered should reflect the of the listing that the swim spa occupies. Not only did the swim spa not get fixed throughout our stay, but we were also told by the visiting maintenance that this is a regular problem after heavy rainfall because of the way the thing is built, the electrics flood and stop working. The owner offered a few hundred quid to make up for the issue. A few hundred? Of the thousands we spent specifically for a property with a hot tub? If I had known the swim spa was broken, I literally would not have booked. Because of this, I didn't have a holiday. I had to stack the week with activities and outings because my sister was so upset. The compensation offered was frankly insulting. I have never published a bad review before. Congrats this is my first one. Avoid this place.
Wow!!! ! We have just spent a week in Aquanaut and it was amazing. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into their property and how to make a holiday as relaxing and fun as it could be. When reading the previous reviews I had a few concerns prior to arriving about cleanliness the house was pristine. The swimspa was a fantastic bonus, and again, impeccably clean no scum lines like someone else has written. I noticed a few people had said it would be nice to have a welcome pack but as long as you are aware, I don't see that a problem & they do inform you there will be no milk or bread besides there were so many other items that are a pain to buy such as spices, salt, vinegar all of which we found in the cupboards along with plenty of cutlery and plates etc. The view from the upstairs balcony was phenomenal and we enjoyed a drink most nights out there watching the beautiful sunset. It was like going from home to home including a variety of games and toys for children in various rooms. I would very happily return to Aquanaut and cannot speak highly enough of it.

We had a very lovely time here. Team was quick to respond to us as well and issues were resolved in a timely manner. Very lovely property in a very good location. The sunset and sunrise here is simply amazing. 5 on amenities. Provided more than sufficient. We will be back again.
Really nice house, in a great location. Perfect for visiting the island. Ignore the comments about cleanliness, the house and garden were spotless. The hot tub is a nice feature, just a shame about the English weather. Only one small suggestion, there could be more recommendations for places to eatdrink and visit in the info book.

The house was in a lovely location lovely sea views. It was advertised as having a hot tub but this was not so.The swim spa was dirty round the sides had to clean it before getting in and there was sand on the bottom.Disappointed there was no welcome basket for paying 5,400 felt this was not worth that.
This was an amazing experience for us to have such a comfortable week in this fabulous villa. We are humble and we all had a very good time despite storm Noa.
We had the loveliest of holidays. The house was perfect and had everything we could have needed. It is in an amazing position the sunsets were superb. Thank you for sharing your home. We would love to come back.

We had a lovely week at Aquanaut. Although pricey, the property was probably actually better than the online description and the stunning sunsets were incredible could be seen from the garden, ground floor and upstairs sitting room. The kids had a great time in the hot tub and enjoyed the toys in the house. Bedroom space was good, though the ground floor double is not nearly as nice as the other bedrooms. We walked or cycled to the nearby beach in Gurnard though it's a steep hill!, and had lovely cycles along the beach front into Cowes. Overall a very nice villa, though we felt it was probably overpriced.
Aquanaut is a really beautiful property. It was a real treat staying here for New Year. Everything that we needed was easily available and the hot tub was a real bonus.
Just spent a lovely week with the family at the superb Aquanaut in the beautiful Isle of Wight. The house is very modern and has all the facilities and equipment you need. The modern kitchen is really well equipped and we wanted for nothing. The insideoutside living spaces are fabulous and the house has been cleverly designed around the views of the sea in the distance. The house is very nicely located in a quiet road in Gurnard, just a five minute drive to West Cowes and the small stoney beach is just five minute walk away. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely house and we would thoroughly recommend it.
The price we paid for what we got felt too high. For this price, I would have expected some more basics including a wine bottle opener, dishwasher tablets, a tea pot. I also hadnt realised until after booking that checkout was at 9am, which felt very early, particularly for how much we paid. The cleaning person then showed up before 9am making us feel very rushed to get out of the house not a great feeling when you are trying to have a relaxing break. Other elements of the house were very nice.
