Bedfelltan Reviews

Stephen
Fantastic property, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The garden is beautiful with lots of border trees and shrubs making it lovely and private and so secure for our dog. Beautifully decorated bedrooms, fresh clean bedding and we all found the beds really comfortable giving great night's sleep. Lovely soft towels available, although the towels are not bath 'sheet' size but not a problem for our family. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there. The basics were covered too, washing up liquid, tea towels, cloths and sponges, tea coffee and sugar and some condimentssauces in the cupboard. Just a note, there are no shops nearby but we did our first shop in the coop in Barmouth on the way in which is 15 minutes drive away. Also displayed on the inside of the cupboard is the notice for recycling rubbish and rota dates which was very helpful. Just one little mention that probably wouldn't have bothered us normally, but as the world cup was on and we had 2 of the hottest days on record so didn't venture out, the TV kept losing channel connection whilst watching. Easily rectified though by tuning to BBC iPlayer or itv X. Fantastic local pubrestaurant at the bottom of the hill, the Ysgethin Inn, just 5 minutes walk down 10 minutes walk back up! We booked for Fathers Day lunch and it was absolutely delicious. We also ate there during the week after being out during the day exploring and the food was always fresh, hot and served quickly. Throughout our stay we received excellent communication from Deb, always responding to messages quickly and making sure everything was ok. She even very kindly arranged a delivery of a fan to us because of extreme heat. For us, it really was home from home. Thank you for sharing your home with us Deb and Ken. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bedfelltan.
Lovely quiet location. Spotlessly clean and so comfortable. Shame the lawns were so overgrown otherwise a really pleasant stay if you just want a very peaceful break. Thank you
Despite the weather we had a lovely holiday in this ideally situated accommodation. Lovely walks from the door and a friendly pub serving good food a short walk away. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable with a beautiful, well maintained secluded garden, home to lots of birds. A pleasure to look out on. Definitely a place to return to.

This was the first property we have stayed in over a number of years that didn't have a welcome pack, nor did it have a local shop to get supplies. More information in the information pack would have been helpful. eg did they want beds stripped and dirty laundry put where? How to use the appliances, bin days worked, rather than sending text messages. However we had a very pleasant week in a very beautiful part of Wales.
Absolutely lovely bungalow, situated in a fabulous spot. Quiet and perfect for exploring the surrounding area. The owners were always at the end of a phone if we needed anything, which we didnt but it was good to know. A lot of thought has gone into the property to make it comfortable. It was clean, everything was in good condition and worked. Comfortable beds etc. There is a lovely, private garden fully enclosed by manicured shrubs. Would we return?..Definitely! Many thanks. Lars, Cindy and our two furry ladies. NB. There is a fabulous walk minutes from the property following a gorgeous river, the dogs loved it.
Unfortunately, this holiday cottage fell below our expectations and caused a number of issues during our stay. The hot water supply was insufficient for five guests. After two short showers, the water quickly became lukewarm and then cold, which meant showering had to be staggered and limited. This occurred each day and was not suitable for a property of this size. The heating system was fixed at 21C with no ability to adjust or turn it off, making the property uncomfortably warm, particularly by midmorning. We also had concerns about cleanliness. Scatter cushions, throws, and rugs in the living room appeared dirty, as did cushions and throws in all bedrooms, to the point that we removed them during our stay. These items would benefit from thorough cleaning between guests. There was frequent noise disturbance from dogs at a neighbouring property, including one instance of continuous barking throughout the night. While outside anyones control, this is something future guests should be aware of. Drying facilities were limited for a party of five. Only one indoor clothes airer was provided, radiators could not be used, the towel rail was not functioning, and the outdoor line remained shaded throughout the day. Bedding felt dated and worn, and the pillows were very firm. The shower curtain was marked and unhygienic, and the shower area would benefit from a more suitable privacy solution, such as a blind, instead of a curtain.

Lovely comfortable bungalow with everything we needed. Secure back garden which was beautifully maintained. We enjoyed lots of beach walks, waterfalls and castles whilst staying there. Communication from Deb was great and we would be more than happy to recommend and return.
Stephen
Lovely property with a friendly a Robin in the garden, in a good location , and with a nice riverside walk close by
Michelle
Lovely cottage in a quiet cul de sac. Well equipped and clean. The village is quiet and was perfect for us. Walk to the beach is about 10 mins, and the pub even less. Definitely recommend a stay
Graham
Lovely bungalow, a credit to the owners, we will definately be back

Its beautiful bungalow is wonderfully maintained and is well equipped. We only stayed for the weekend but definitely would stay again for longer. Its in an ideal location between Bournemouth and Harlech with the villages all accessible. The property and especially the garden is just wonderful to relax in after a busy day exploring the area.
Lovely bungalow, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is on a very quiet road and we all slept really well. Nice sea view at a distance out of the bedroom window. Excellent communication from the owner too. The bungalow is about a 15 minute walk to the beach. Lucky for us it was a very warm week and we enjoyed a swim in the cool sea. I'd recommend the fish and chips from Billy's Fishbar which was at one on the caravan sites on the walk to the beach plus the independent ice cream parlour immediately before the beach, both delicious. The property is also located next to the river and woodland great for a walk and a lovely bonus to our stay. WiFi was also good. We'd definitely stay at this property again.
We had a fantastic stay, it's probably the best equipped self catering property we have stayed in, it's a credit to the owners, only downside was the dog next door and the smell of wee when sitting in garden and putting recycling out was over powering, the dog was barking early morning till late at night, as for the smell of dog wee, it was terrible probably worst than normal because of the hot weather, I think your neighbours need to hose down with jeyes fluid this should stop the smell.
Lovely bungalow on a quiet street. Very easy access to quiet woodland walks for my dog and me. Minutes from lovely beaches and a short walk to local pub.

This was our 2nd stay at Bedfeltan ,so we knew what to expect. Not disappointed, we will be looking to book again for next year ASAP. The property remains in very good condition , clean & well maintained with all necessary equipment. Very comfortable sofas, beds. Bed linen & towels supplied. Excellent private garden with furniture & bbq weather permitting. We were lucky this time ,enjoying the sun. We made use of the local pub for most of our meals,g reat menu if you don't want to be cooking daily. One more detail, great communication with the owners. Thank you .
A lovely base for exploring the coastline from Barmouth to Porthmadog and beyond. Easy and convenient checkin. Easy walk to the pub and shaded path for dogwalking. Shops nearby too. Very comfortable and roomy enough for four adults and two dogs. Lovely garden but only drawback is neighbouring properties dogs who let us know they were there when we went outside not the owners fault. We would certainly return in the future.
Christopher
Lovely cottage. Great location. Had everything we needed. Would definitely book again.
Sandra
The property was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is ideal as the woodland walk is a few minutes walk away and the dog loved her daily walks there. The local pub is also a short walk away. There are plenty of nearby places to visit and they were all quiet when we went in March. We have visited the area for several years and the property is definitely the best we have stayed in and is in an ideal location. The owners were also very helpful and checked that everything was ok uring our stay.

This is a real gem. Five star from minute we arrived til we left. Lovely clean, warm and incredibly well equipped. Owners are always contactable and respond to any questions quickly. I have during my working life paid over 300 a night to stay in hotels that sre no ehere near this standard. Would definately return and recommend without hesitation. Aaa
Our 3rd stay at this property, everything was spotless, comfortable bed, nice and warm, great shower, great location to explore, lots of walks from the door, secure garden for the dogs, thankyou for letting us stay in your lovely home.
Our second time staying at this lovely home, everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay, a home from home, the weather was kind to us, beach not to far away and a lovely woodland walk just up the road, thankyou for letting us stay in your beautiful home again, looking forward retuning next year.

Really enjoyed this visit as been going to Barmouth since I was 10 1960 we had a caravan in Tal y bont until 2004 and due to cancer treatment gave that up so first visit since then but this time in the bungalow which was much better especially for the dogs excellent fenced rear garden good facilities especially in kitchen although we ate out 90 percent of the time really good communication from owner sad to leave it as weather was fabulous

Lovely bungalow. Clean and comfortable, ideal location for a peaceful break Area is beautiful with lots to see and do. Will definitely return
A lovely quiet property ,spacious and comfortable, well equipped and very clean , the garden was a great place to relax and it was very secure for our dog. The location was ideal , we enjoyed walks from the bungalow along the stream finishing at the pub. We also took short drives into Barmouth and down to the dog friendly part of the beach . Many thanks to Deb for the great communication and information
Stephen
Surprised at how spacious this property was . 3 good sized bedrooms, 1 kingsize,1 standard double & 1 single, all with ample storage for your stay. A well equipped kitchen with all that you need and a large loungediner ,with two sofas and table for 56 people. Bathroom has the usual toilet, basin & shower over bath, easy to clean. Personnelly I'd have cabinet for toiletries but it wasn't a problem. Private secluded garden to the rear to keep your dog safe if taking one ,some good sturdy chairs and table with a barbeque for some alfresco dining. We chose to eat at the nearby Ysgethin pubrestaurant, great food.. Only one point I could fault was that it took a while for hot water to reach tapsshower, wasting a bit of water, not sure if that could rectified. Overall we were very happy to stay there and are looking forward to booking another stay in the near future. Also a big plus was the communication between ourselves and the property owners, checking all was well & if there was anything we needed. Impressed is an understatement.

On arriving at the property we were amazed at such a beautiful home. It's a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures!! We were a party of 5 adults and 2 dogs and had plenty of space. The bungalow is on a residential estate, but tucked away in a culdesac and very quiet, with distant sea views. It is bright, airy, clean and well decorated. All the rooms are decent sizes, comfortable beds, kingsize bedroom also has a modern tv on the wall. The kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, glasses, plates, bowls and cutlery. The rear garden is very private, fully enclosed, there are mature shrubs and plants, lawned areas and large paved area with solid wooden patio furniture. One thing to bear in mind is the shower isn't temperature controlled so can catch you out at first until you master the flow of hot and cold. The communication from the owner was spot on and when we reported the iron faulty it was dealt with immediately. Maybe an instruction on how to use the storage radiators if needed would be useful, for us, using the electric fire for a short time some evenings was adequate and a towel rail warms the bathroom nicely. We most definitely will return to the property and there's so much to do in the area.
Our first time staying at Bedfelltan and what a wonderful place. The bungalow is lovely and felt like home from home. Very clean and tidy and everything there that you need including the small details like stair gate in the kitchen to be able to keep the dogs in when coming in from outside and bowls for the dogs also. The garden is lovely and well presented with outdoor furniture. The area is ever so peaceful and walking distance to the nearest pub. The beach is a 5 minute drive away Would highly recommend any one to stay here and we will definitely be returning in the future.
The property was clean, had comfortable beds and was well equipped situated on a quiet residential estate. It was within easy reach to several beaches for some lovely walks with our dogs. Having an enclosed secure garden was very important to keep our two labs safe when outside. It was perfect for our needs and we would love to return in the future.
Lovely, clean, spacious and beautifully kept bungalow . Immaculate garden. Very private not overlooked at the back. Two members of the party were disabled and the bungalow was brilliant for peace and quiet for them. The sound of the river was lovely and a great sweeping view of the bay from the bedroom windows. Great location just short walk from the village centre, a restaurant, bus stop, train halt and even some amusements courtesy of the local caravan sites. The beach is gorgeous here and just a 10 minute stroll down the lane past aforementioned amusements and caravans. Amazing views over to the Llyn peninsula. Talybont has one of my very favourite beaches. Barmouth, Portmeirion and Harlech within easy reach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely plan to revisit
Lovely. property. would stay again.
Arrived late afternoon to a lovely warm very clean home. Deb the owner kept in contact and made sure we were happy and everything was OK. Very comfortable bed and sofa, everything we needed for a brilliant stay, Garden was secure so we didn't have the worry of our dogs escaping, great location for lots of walks from the doorstep, we had a lovely pizza from ysgethin Inn just a short walk from the property. We highly recommend and will return later in the year.

Brilliant Stay! We have just returned from a wonderful week at Bedfelltan over Christmas. This holiday home was like being home from home! Everything was cosy, comfortable and all the facilities so well thought through. We were very warm, close to the local pub, and there was even a good walk from the doorstep for the labradorsThank you!
Elizabeth
Disappointed, the place was lovely but we were cold, storage heaters gave no warmth, and neither the towel rail or heater worked in the bathroom, I suffer severe arthritis so couldn't put up with the cold to have a shower the radiator in the kitchen was locked ,,also horrible dirty mark on bottom sheet in the bedroom . Draft coming through patio doors,we had to put cushions against blinds to stop the noise .
Stephen
My 4th time staying at Bedfelltan very clean would I go back yes I would. Just along coast road from Barmouth one way and Harlech the other with its beautiful beach.
Well appointed well equipped good wi fi A very well maintained bungalow on an estate Big win is. .you can easily walk to the beach as we did with our dog 5.mins in the car gets you to an even better one Spotlessly clean on arrival
This is 4th time we have stayed here and love it every time. There is loads to do from numerous beaches which are clean and never overcrowded, stunning views, loads are bars, restaurants and cafes, and a 40 min drive to zip world which I would definitely recommend. Ideal for a family break or for a couple looking for an adventure!
