From first seeing Cardean Mill you knew it was a lovely place to stay, we found it a very peaceful and comfortable place and also lots of wildlife , its well equipped, the beds you could have a lovely peaceful nights sleep, and the dogs love it too.

Fantastic peaceful location, house has lots of space to move about and living room is a great family area ,the owners who are very welcoming are next door but you would never know they were there , lots to do in the area with a visit to Peel farm with lots of animals for children to see and a fantastic fish & chips shop 3 miles Alyth away being highlights, generally a great place for a family holiday .

Visited for a week taking in the new year. The owners are lovely and very helpful. They are not intrusive. The cottage met our needs for the week. Beds very comfortable and ensuite a bonus. The other bedrooms upstairs were very clean and comfortable to. Main bathroom had a lovely free standing bath. The downstairs bedroom had twin beds which were very comfortable and it to had an ensuite. Large spacious lounge with adequate seating for us all, there were seven of us. Leading off of the lounge was the kitchen, not overly big but it had all the appliances including an airfryer and utensils we needed for our trip. Nice open large hallway with a Christmas tree insitu, boot rack, coat hanger. The cottage had plenty of throws and cushions. There was a complimentary basket on arrival with tea, coffee, sugar and a tin of shortbread. There was also milk and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge. a really nice touch. The cottage is in a beautiful setting near a river. We walked our dog through the woods which looped back to the cottage. We had a wonderful new year. This place would make a great base in the Summer exploring the surrounding areas. Thank you Steve and Alison for everything.

Fantastic accomodation, such a lovely setting. Ideal for a chilled weekend with friends and within a short distance of all local amenities or larger towns. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Even managed a kayak along the river which was great fun. We would definitely return for another stay.

Fantastic place to stay. Loads of history with the building but modernised inside for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Well maintained gardens with walks straight out of the property. Set in countryside but close enough to shops and amenities for shopping or dining out.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Cardean Mill with the family. The house is the perfect size for 6 adults and a child. The kitchen was well stocked and lots of cooking equipment. We cooked all our meals in the house and had everything we needing. Including a dishwasher! We used the washing machine several times too. The garden was amazing the dog and 4 year old took full advantage. We even got to sit outside in the autumn sun. Overall the house was a great find. while the house was very clean, fresh bedding and towels, very cosy and warm and the host was amazing... The furniture in the living room could be doing with being moved and cleaned under. While retrieving toys from under the chest in the lounge it was very thick with dusthair and debris but this wouldn't stop us coming back or recommending the property to someone else. The little play area for the children was also great!

The property was fabulous we all loved it. The owners were really helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. The house was truly excellent, and we'd love to visit again. There is so much to do in the area, and the kids enjoyed kayaking in the river.

Absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful house in an idyllic setting. Really enjoyed waking up to the sunshine in the lovely garden, with the bridge as a backdrop, and enjoyed watching the heron walking up the river. Spacious house for 5 of us and our dog enjoyed all the space to run around. Loved the mill feature. Gorgeous walk through the adjoining woodland. Great base to explore the coast and mountains. Loved watching the dolphins in Montrose! Highly recommended and would definitely stay again. Thank you to the lovely owners.

Had a wonderful, comfortable week in this dream of a home. Stephen, the host, was welcoming and on hand to answer any questions but, not intrusive. We had the house and garden to ourselves and both were pretty impressive and well maintained. The weather was amazing and nature in abundance. Thanks for a truly relaxing stay.

We loved our week staying in Cardean Mill, it is one of these rare finds you don't stumble on often. The weather could not have been better, which was an added bonus. The walks from the door step along the river perfect and the bluebells beautiful in May. We would love to return one day, the property offered a real home from home experiance very comfortable and clean, the garden beautiful and a joy to be in. View's over the river watching the fish leap, whats not to love.

Great place. An old mill converted into a beautiful cottage. Stunning location in countryside, with river and forest walks nearby. Very peaceful and relaxing, and also close enough to drive to various locations Blairgowrie, Kirriemuir, Glamis Castle, Forfar. Well worth a visit.

Perfect location, beautiful cottage and host very helpful and friendly. Cottage had everything we needed and more and facilities great for family celebration.

We had a great week in this lovely house. It's very tranquil, quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed walking the dog in the forest and the cafes in the town and we had a couple of games of golf at the local courses. All very friendly. We had a power cut during a storm and the owner came round with candles which was a nice touch. Would love to go back!

We had a very pleasant short 3 day stay at Cardean Mill. An interesting property with a lovely view across the garden to the river. The house was warm, comfortable and beautifully clean. Everything we needed was provided. The owners are on site and are very helpful. Good space to walk the dog. Local shops are easily accessible and some excellent places for eating out are nearby. An ideal base to explore the area. Hopefully the family will be able to return for a summer holiday.

We all had a really memorable family break. The cottage was homely, comfortable, well equipped, in a beautiful setting, and the owners could not have been more helpful. What more could you want? We would love to return at some point, and I have already given the property details to my brother. I would highly recommend your property for anyone considering booking.

This home is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. The setting is stunning and the location is set up to explore so much of Scotland. The charm and history of this property completely stole my heart. Its honestly such an incredible house. We stayed here with our 3 children and my Mum joined us after a couple of days. The rooms are so spacious and the convenience of two en suites and a main bathroom really worked well. The living room is perfect for space to eat, play games and socialise in the evening. I would highly recommend this stay. Thank you so much to the owners who were welcoming and kind during our stay.

Me and my family went to Cardean Mill for a birthday celebration and stayed for 6 nights. It was such a lovely home and our hosts were fantastic! They were extremely friendly and gave advice on nice things to do and places to visit. The property was clean and the facilities kitchen, bathrooms were plentiful and clean. The property also had a variety of local activity leaflets, books and games to play. The property is also dogfriendly which is an added benefit. The walks nearby were beautiful and we even saw a variety of wildlife. Overall, it was a lovely and picturesque place to stay, and I strongly recommend it! Me and my family will definitely be returning

We had a wonderful time. The property was amazing. The grounds and surrounding countryside was beautiful. The owners are the most lovely people. Our Guide Dogs had a blast. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. We wish wed had more time in this fabulous spot.

Beautiful property in a peaceful countryside setting. Could not fault it. Everything you could need was provided for a restful self catering break. Lovely rural walks straight from the front door. We were lucky enough to see red squirrels, otters and even caught a glimpse of a beaver. Owners were so helpful and provided us with lots of useful information about the local area. Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay. 8 of us were in the property and met our needs. Had a little issue with the WiFi on the first day but quickly sorted the next morning by the owners so happy teenagers! Beds comfy and lovely surroundings, the only slightly negative point was that the shower pressure was quite low. If you are looking for a rural get away wed definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time, kids loved the freedom of exploring around the land and the forest. The house was very clean and a beautiful welcome basket. The owners where lovely people and explained what their was to do around the local area for adults and teens Everything that we needed was on hand maybe an iron might be useful Though am sure if we had asked one would of been provided. We used it as a base to go and explore perthshire and taking the kids to places I went as a child. All had a great time and wood glady book again

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Cardean Mill. The location is idyllic. The property was perfect for a group of friends to spend quality time together . Very clean & comfortable. We arrived to a lovely wee hamper & a bottle of fizz in the fridge. Lovely walk into the wee village of Meigle & lunch in Flour was very good. Perfect, attentive hosts who loaned us a torch & also some salt & pepper! Will definitely be returning.

Loved the Mill and the environment it is in. The walks are fantastic from the doorstep. Equally you are within a short distance of Munros, Glamis, St Andrews and lots of great places in Perthshire. Hosts are excellent would recommend.
