Castle Cove View Reviews

The house was lovely in a great location right next to a favourite beach. It was very wellequipped, spotlessly clean and had the benefit of parking which quite a find for Weymouth. I cant recommend it more highly.
Fintan
An absolute delight. Beautifully maintained and presented, this was the ideal solution for our seaside holiday in Weymouth. Well equipped and comfortable it is just a few steps from the path to the beach with footpath and easy road access to the town centre. A thoughtful welcome pack was a lovely touch. Were already booked for next year.
Judith
Very nice property, clean and wellequipped. The heating controls had malfunctioned but the owner was very proactive in letting us know and suggesting a solution and both they and Sykes were very quick to respond when we had trouble with the key safe. Being opposite the walkway down to the beach was brilliant and there is a small park further down the road. Access to the Rodwell trail behind the house was great for walking the dog though watch out for cyclists on their way to work! Perfect location for walking into Weymouth or driving out to get to other places. Would do definitely stay here again.

We spent Christmas at the cottage with 6 people and 2 dogs and had a fantastic time. The house is very well equipped and had everything we needed to cook Christmas dinner. Its above property and very well laid out with plenty of room. Lovely sea views from the top floor. Old Castle Road is a magical spot and access to a great beach where the dogs could have a good run. Would definitely book again!
Our second stay in this gorgeous home did not disappoint. It is well appointed with everything you need for a relaxing stay we loved the welcome treats, so thoughtful. The house is located perfectly for exploring the area and we hope to return again in the future

We love the area, lovely walks on the two beaches in the mornings. The property was nice but found the two downstairs bedrooms a bit small but ok. The downstairs bathroom would be better if a shelf or shelves were on the wall above the toilet roll holder and just a mirror over the basin as with the shelf over gets in the way when cleaning teeth or or trying to have a wet shave. I parked the car on the parking space provided and found the next morning it was covered in bird muck and I mean covered, roof, windows bonnet, I wouldnt recommend parking there, we parked opposite on the road. Other than above we had a good holiday and found the property comfortable and well equipped.
Clean & well equiped. Good location, really close to the sea & also a bus stop nearby, just up the hill.
We enjoyed our holiday at Castle Cove. It was lovely to have the safe sandy beach just across the road for the grandchildren. We loved the freebies and games too. Thank you
The property was pleasant and comfortable in a great location. Generous welcome pack and greetings from the hosts, thank you. We had a lovely time. Good equipment but knives need to be sharper otherwise great. Slipway and private garden a good addition.

Lovely place to stay great views and location, had all we needed there , clean and comfortable, handy having a full size fridge freezer, only thing on the down side sofas not that comfortable after being out all day walking etc, But a lovely stay would recommend to anyone
A lovely well maintained house in a perfect location with lovely views. The house had everything we needed & more, it was very clean, the beds were amazingly comfortable & lovely soft towels. The welcome treats on arrival, including treats for Daisy dog, were a very kind gesture & much appreciated. We had a lovely relaxing few days & will definitely be returning. Thank you x
Absolutely lovely house, very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Well located, and plenty of great places within walking distance. A fab long weekend!
A very and clean and comfortable holiday home with lovely views across to Portland. The quiet and clean beach was only across the road and down some wooden steps. We saw a beautiful sunrise! The property had all we needed with a lovely welcome pack on arrival and great walks from the door. Beds were very comfortable and white towels were soft.
A lovely house, nicely decorated, very well equipped and in a good location. A short walk to the castle gardens and to small local beaches and a 2030 minute pleasant walk along the old railway line into weymouth and, the other way, towards chesil beach. Friendly communication from the owners and an unexpected welcome pack with some chocolates and biscuits was well received. The whole house is in good condition. The twin beds downstairs are quite narrow. The double room is good and the master suite is very nice. There are sea views from the living area and from the master bedroom, and the kitchen is well equipped.
What a wonderful home, so cosy and well appointed very handy having the parking spaces and the proximity to the sheltered, dog friendly beach is great and its ideal for paddle boarding. We will definitely return.
Jennifer
Lovely house, great views and everything you need. Right by the beach. Will definitely book again. Absolutely loved house & location

Absolutely lovely holiday home. We stayed here with our two children, 16 and 12 and had a great week. Location is perfect. About 2030 minutes walk into Weymouth, easy access to the Rodwell Trail and walks to Portland and the SouthWest coastal path. The house itself is really well laid out, with a beautiful master bedroom and ensuite at the top of the house. The open plan kitchen and dining area is particularly welldesigned for the times we ate in, fully equipped and with a good sized fridge freezer, fullsize cooker, and plenty of worktop space. We had good communication with the owners and there was also a lovely welcome basket waiting for us thankyou! It was great to be able to walk over the road to the beach and have a swim. Its not too crowded with soft sand and shallow water, perfect for paddling and swimming. Previous reviews mentioned noise from building works but this may have finished because we didnt hear any during our stay. All in all, we wouldnt hesitate to recommend Castle Cove view. Its a perfect holiday home, and we will be back.
Really nice property. Felt very fresh and clean when we arrived, had everything we needed. Lovely touch to have a welcome pack waiting for us, we all enjoyed that. Location is amazing. Path down to the beach 20 yards from the front door and a 20 minute walk into Weymouth. Fantastic master bedroom with ensuite and views overlooking the sea. We loved the outside seating area surrounded by palm trees and lovely early afternoon sun. Communication with the owners was all very good. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend.

Wonderful town house Very modern style Would recommend it to anyone The location is ideal next to the beach. Castle garden and a morning cafe who make great coffee located in the park Short walk to the town centre.
A beautiful clean, modern town house situated literally across the road from a secluded sandy cove which is ideal for swimming or paddleboarding. Welcome pack on arrival was the best we've ever had, including crisps, chocolates, biscuits, a bottle of prosseco and a bag of treats for the dogs. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk were also there on our arrival. Great location for many attractions and a fish and chip shop, pub and shop within a short walking distance. Would definitely return if staying in this area again.

We've had a really lovely week at Castle View. The weather was fantastic so we went swimming and out on our two kayaks most days. This is a wonderful area. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was lovely to arrive to a big box of treats and they were much appreciated! We took the dog up the road to the pretty Sandsfoot Castle gardens regularly and enjoyed a coffee and pastry from the little cafe there. There are two points of access to the beach literally opposite the house. A private key was provided to open big gates to a slipway that is only used by very local neighbours, who said it was safe to store store our kayaks on the grass at the top of the slipway. This was very convenient, and completely safe. The public access is adjacent and is more winding with a few steps, but both bring you out onto a beautiful sandy little cove. The sea is clear and has flat sandy access to the water. It's a dog friendly beach all year round. Ideal for swimming especially at high tide, but the water doesn't shelve so it would be great for little people too. We walked over the hill to Weymouth about a 45 minute pretty walk. Had a lovely brunch at Billy Winter's beach bar & diner opposite Chesil beach on the causeway to Portland. Also had great gluten free fish & chips from the Cod Fathers chip shop next to the Coop only a 5 minute walk away. Castle Cove is a little gem and we hope to return!
Lovely house, literally across the road from the beach. The private parking space was handy too enough for two cars. The gated private access to the beach and private gated garden area across the road to chill out was also very nice. Close to amenities, local cafe, pub, coop and chip shop very nice were all within 5 8 min walk. Only a 5 10 min drive to get into the Brewers Quay or the main town or try the local walking trail, Rodwell trail, etc. House had good views of the sea from 1st and 2nd floors. Nicely decorated, all mod cons, washing machine, combi boiler, cooker, showers, bath, 2 x wc's, tv in Lounge and bedroom. We had no issues at all everything worked fine. The welcome pack was a nice touch and very moorish. Clean bedsheetstowels, etc, even had wash machine tabs, soap, cleaning clothes, washing up liquid, cleaning spray, tea towell and loo rolls, The place had everything. Not quite 5 star, but deffo 4 star. We would definitely stay again, and would happily recommend this accommodation. Thank you. 8

Had a lovely stay at Castle Cove. The house was beautifully clean and smelt very fresh when we arrived. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. The location is fantastic the close proximity to such a lovely beach was wonderful. The only minor complaint was the single bed was a bit narrow for an adult, but this didnt spoil our stay.
A gorgeous light and spacious house. Really close to a small beach and within easy reach of both the town and Chesil beach. The house was well equipped and a welcome pack from the owners was very much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area.
This was the second time we have stayed in this property with our extended family. House had everything we needed for out stay and is warm and comfortable. The location is excellent, walk into town either via the Rodwell Trail which runs behind the house or along roads that follow the coast and brings you in to the Old Harbour. The sheltered beach a minute over the road from the property was used every day but us in December and is the real icing on the cake for our group. Lovely quiet location as well.
Rosemarie
We had the most fantastic stay, the house had everything you need. The location was outstanding, the welcome pack was greatly appreciated & well stocked with all kinds of goodies. We wont hesitate to rebook & would recommend it to everyone. Alfie gave it 10 out of 10 and lots of woofs. Fantastic!!! Happy & prosperous new year!! Rosie

Thank you for a lovely stay and well equipped property Great location Lovley ... Thank you for a lovely stay and well equipped property Great location Lovley touch with a gift box when we arrived Highly recommend
Great place to stay for visiting Weymouth. Short 1520 min walk into Weymouth either on Rodwell Trail or around headland via Belle View Rd. We made full use of private access down to the beach which is 1 min away from the front door. Good sandy beach which shallows very slowly. Accommodation is well maintained and has everything you need. We will be booking it again which says it all.
The cottage was in the perfect location, well equipped and clean. Our welcome pack on arrival was such a pleasant surprise, and we had a lovely handwritten letter too, letting us know about a few local bits...we felt so welcome. Personal contact was made by the owners, which gave us the feeling they were happy to help if necessary this was very handy on check out, as I'd left my sunglasses and was able to send a text to ask if I could go back and grab them, which was responded to within minutes. The personal touches made the holiday so special and I can't thank Sue and Tim enough for providing such a wonderful base for our lovely holiday. We would happily return if we ever visited Weymouth again! Thank you!
Charles
We hadnt appreciated, when booking, just how close the house is to the sandy cove! Perfect for us with our daughter and two young grandchildren. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We loved the open plan kitchendiningliving room where we could be together with the children playing while we prepared meals etc. and the bonus of sea views sadly for the owners now partly obscured by new builds although we were pleased with sight of the sea!. It was lovely to be welcomed with a card and welcome pack, along with colouring packs for the children very much appreciated! A great holiday in a perfect house! Thank you!
We loved staying and feel certain that we will come back. Such a good area so close to the beach. Wonderful walks. We enjoyed Weymouth immensely, such a very interesting area to visit. We were blessed with very good weather too. We need to come back to see more things! Our dog also had a wonderful time.
Judith
We all really enjoyed our first time in Weymouth. The house was well equipped and in a fantastic position just a five minute walk to the lovely Castle Cove beach. We could abandon the cars and made good use of the cycle footpath to get about. A big thank you for the welcome pack and help from the owners returning our granddaughters comforter. The amazing weather just finished the holiday off.
The house was generally OK, but our stay was tainted by the down stairs area. I booked this house as I understood that it was under new ownership and was expecting it to be have been upgraded. The toilet shower room, back garden and back double room are in dire need of a deep clean and repair. The toilet seat was far too small for the basin so didn't sit correctly. There was mouldmildew and dirt round the dated shower cubical. The back gardenyard needs a good clean and tidy up. The back bedroom cupboardwardrobe was extremely dirty on the floor round the chest of draws, it looks like it hasn't been touched for years.
Well equipped property with a lovely welcome pack. Great location with scenic walks along the coast and easy access to the town.
Theodora
This property is beautifully located. It was glorious to watch the sun rise on clear winter mornings. The house was comfortable but quite cold during the day. I think the property would be wonderfully suitable for a summer break. For the winter the heating needs to be adjusted and a wider range of TV channels that offer a film channel would be great. However we were between houses and we were able to decompress.

Had a lovely stay in Castle Cove View September 2022. Property nice and clean, and everything in good working order. Close to a nice quiet beach and the coast path. Lots of nice country pubs a 1015 minute drive away The Fat Badger, The Lugger, The Kings Arms Portesham all dog friendly.
This was a lovely house in a perfect location. We had a great week here. House was lovely and clean and beds were fresh and comfy. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of utensils etc . To just walk across the road to get to beach was great and the beach was so safe for my grandchildren it was perfect .
Lovely accommodation with one of the best equipped kitchen Ive encountered. The location is superb. The owners were really helpful and the welcome pack was amazing.
Lovey house, perfectly clean. Lovely welcome gifts and wine which was very much appreciated. The building work just up the road was no problem and they made very little noise during our stay Its a good 20 minutes walk to the harbour around the coast way and through Nothe gardens but well worth doing for the views and scenery. Would definitely recommend this property and will book again if we go to Weymouth again
