Charmouth Lodge Reviews

This property was beautiful, the rooms were large and thoughtfully furnished. The staircase is stunning! The kitchen was very well equipped, plenty of crockery, glasses, pots, pans and cutlery. Parking was a bit tight for 2 cars, but adequate. The house is perfectly positioned for the chip shop, pub, bakers, minimarket and only a 5 min walk to the lovely beach. A nice little garden to sit andor eat. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, thank you. Our only niggles were that 1. the wooden floor boards in the hallway were cracked, splintering and loose, and we had to put a cover down as we had 2 small children one of them crawling. 2. The garden is in dire need of a tidying, e.g. there were brambles hanging down onto the grass. We would definitely return here if holidaying in the area.
What a lovely property, such a good feel about it. Original features kept whilst ensuring modern facilities.
Wonderful house in a great location. We spent a week with my grown up children grandchildren and a dog. Most perfect holiday house with just a 5 minute walk to the beach . It was well equipped and spacious. We loved the enclosed garden and it was perfect for a dog and children . Best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in !
Excellent accommodation in a very convenient location. The house is well maintained and extremely well equipped. It is a credit to the owners that we felt so welcomed and comfortable. There is plenty of space in all rooms and a bonus of a sun trapped garden.
A beautiful house full of light and historic character. Locared only five minutes flat walk from the wonderful beach at Charmouth. House is located at the centre of the village close to a bakery, pubs serving food, pharmacy, small general shop, newsagents, and cafe but the area and road was quiet. The the house has a green very private garden to the rear that has sun all day. House is elegantly decorated but light and cosy in the evenings. Kitchen is spacious and well equiped and dining spaces are linked so good for families. Great for family meals and games. Three front bedrooms have wonderful views of the sea. Parking provision at the rear of the house is very close. A lovely place to stay.

Another visit to beautiful Charmouth Lodge! We love the space and the historical feel to the house. Very comfortable and the owners have thought of everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The village shops, 2 pubs and fish and chip shop are very close, check for opening days during the winter months. The village bakery is a few steps from the bottom of the garden. The lovely staff remembered us from a previous visit and provided morning coffee and delicious bacon rolls for several breakfasts. The Royal Oak serves excellent food booking recommended and Sunday lunch is great value. Charmouth beach is within easy walking distance we saw a seal swimming from the beach and Lyme Bay and Bridport are just a short drive away.

We had a wonderful week at Charmouth Lodge, such a beautiful house in the very centre of the village. We visit Charmouth every year and often admired the house, so it was amazing being able to stay there. Lovely big sunny rooms, incredible staircase, fab kitchen & enclosed dog friendly garden. Well equipped in every way. And of course very handy for the bakery which is right next door. We will be booking again.
We had a wonderful week staying at Charmouth Lodge. First of all the welcome pack is the best we have ever had, we really appreciated it. The house is stunning, it was lovely to read about its history and see some old photographs. Everywhere was either walking distance or jump on the local bus to visit other areas, Lyme Regis and Bridport. We would highly recommend Charmouth Lodge, everything you need, very comfortable and brilliant location.

We really loved the place and enjoyed the holidays. It was really a 12 out of 10 experience!! Very nice welcoming package and everything what could be needed was in the house, we were never missing anything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Charmouth Lodge. A beautiful spacious house in a very convenient location. Comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and relax, inside and out. An added bonus was the fully enclosed, 'dog proof' garden that our dog really appreciated. We left the cars and went by bus to Lyme Regis and Bridport. Also had a lovely day out to Sidmouth which is also recommended. The seafront is about 10 minutes walk away and there are a variety of shops, pubs and cafes literally on the doorstep. We do hope to be back some day.

We had a wonderful few days at Charmouth Lodge. The property is very well equipped and in a great location.

We really enjoyed our stay in Charmouth Lodge. An outstanding property, large rooms, warm, comfortable beds, and very generously equipped. There was everything we needed in the kitchen, more than enough soap etc in bathrooms. The welcome bag was the best Ive seen. And lots of games and shelves of books. The house is very well positioned, in the centre of the town, but still quiet, and a short walk to the sea.

A wonderful place to stay. We have stayed in Charmouth many times and had often wondered what the Lodge was like inside. It was a bit like staying in a small safely home. Beautiful original features, high ceilings and a gorgeous, carved wooden staircase. Very comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Loved it!
A fabulous 4night stay as 2 families in Charmouth Lodge. The house was immaculately clean on arrival and extremely well kitted out in a perfect setting with bakery, shops, grocery, fish and chips, and pub all a stone's throw away. The beach and coastal paths are all very close by, not to mention the cottage having enclosed gardens to both the front and rear, so plenty of space to enjoy time with friends both inside and out. We really couldn't ask for more from this really well presented and historic cottage. The owners have really thought carefully about what a rental property needs and were very welcoming in their messages and support during the stay. The car parking is manageable for 2 cars with a bit of care needed to park sensibly to respect the neighbours. Charmouth was a lovely setting for 2 families to meet up coastal path in both directions allowing for excellent access and hiking to Golden Cap to the east and Lyme Regis to the west. Exploring the beach and fossil hunting was great. The local amenities meant no need to use the car for the entire stay. We cannot recommend Charmouth Lodge enough!
Charmouth Lodge was a terrific find. It is spacious, very well equipped and had everything we could possibly need. Its location in the village was perfect for us a short walk to the beach and literally five minutes to the Monarch's Way. It is dog friendly and has a secure, enclosed back garden. There are many nice touches to the property including an extensive library and plenty of games. It is sensitively decorated featuring many local art and crafts. I am sure we will be back!
