Chi An Mor Reviews

We had a fantastic stay at Chi An Mor. The weather wasnt on our side but the location was perfect with a 20 minute walk into Newquay town centre & Porth beach right on the door step. The Host Mary was lovely & she allowed us an early check in due to our long drive. Would highly recommend 1010 stay! June 2026

A lovely property, welcoming and warm with great personal touches. The welcome pack was a great addition and also one for the dog. Great view of the sea and headland. The walks to the beach and neighbouring villages were short with access to the local pubs. Newquay was also a pleasant longer walk. Would highly recommend this property.
The bungalow was in a great location, only a few minutes walk down to porth beach which was great. Sadly for a 5 property it was lacking. The beds and pillows were of a poor quality, you could feel the springs and turning over in bed was noisy. The baking trays and frying pans were Teflon forever chemicals and badly scratched. The walls of the bungalow displayed signs of black mould in the corners of some walls these things really need addressing, we booked very last minute due to needing rehoming due to storm Goretti, we wouldnt return on this occasion. A last shout out to the cleaner Mary who came to clean the bungalow at short notice so it was ready for us, we found the place bleachy clean.

A beautiful bungalow that was immaculate throughout. It had everything we needed plus a few extra touches which was lovely. The view from the lounge window was perfect. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
Beautiful accommodation, we will love to stay at this property again!

What a wonderful place to stay. It was spacious, clean and had everything we need. A bedroom with a sea view. A hot tub to relax in, in the evening, again with a view of the sea. The Porth beach was 510 mins walk away. Newquay not far at all. The artwork by Claire was a lovely touch. We had a great time and would 100 recommend this location. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Beds comfy. Kitchen well equipped. Dog friendly. Lovely artwork throughout. Used the hot tub takes a while to heat up but a nice experience with the sun going down. Shops nearby for petrol and essentials. Wonderful view

Chi an mor was beautiful! ! Very peaceful and had everything we needed. The garden was ideal for our two dogs to have their freedom. Loved the hot tub and sea views!! Also the treats were a really nice touch. We will be booking again x
Deborah
Lovely place with brilliant views of porth island and the sea with all amenities you could need. Perfect for kids and dogs with a good size garden and also games room. The perfect location to see such beautiful sunsets!
Fantastic views, lovely internal decor and good facilities. Could do with warming pre arrival, very cold and took 24 hours to warm. Personal but dont like showers with bath tub.
We booked the property because it had a hot tub. After spending over 2 hours heating it, I got in to discover a layer of slime on the bottom. I can only assume this is algae, and I was basically getting into a pond. This could've made me seriously ill. It spoilt what is otherwise a nice holiday let. The games room was also too cold to use.
Recently returned from chi am mor . property was as advertised in a fabulous location , with short walks drives to many beautiful beaches , which is exactly what we wanted . House was clean and tidy on arrival , it was well equipped with most utensils and there was some lovely little extras like . nice loaf of fresh bread , some milk , lovely scones , jam and clotted cream which was all yummy , and a couple of treats for our little dog . there was also a bottle of washing up liquid which was all well received. thank you very much The master bed which was 2 beds zipped together was very comfortable and quite spacious we both slept like a log . overall we had a lovely stay in a house which was in a fabulous location . There was a few minor negatives , which we would not want , to put anybody off booking this property . there was no hammock in garden , which we would not have used so did not bother us and there was no barbeque which we would have used but to be honest was no inconvenience . but would advise this is pointed out to other potential renters . The wood burning hot tub was nice , but needed too much baby sitting and attention on this point and this point only we would probable not return , as we prefer a convectional hot tub , as with a hot tub . you would return from a nice day out , put some bathers on and just have to jump in and relax , with a glass of wine . instead of having to light a fire and wait for a couple of hours . We would like to finish on a high as the property is very nice and in a stunning location , the couple of minor negatives in no way spoilt our holiday we still had a ball .
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful bungalow, we had everything we needed for our week away, we have never been to Newquay before and we will most definitely be back to stay again. . our quite golden retriever made it home very quickly which we always worry about the garden was safe for her and she loved watching everyone pass by at the gate and windows, its a big
The property is in a lovely location however don't be fooled by the pictures. They were obviously taken years ago. Property needs a good clean, hot tub dirty with hairs and dead bugs. Hammock broken. Wouldn't go again and Wouldn't recommend. Was offered 20 off any future visits not that we would ever go back. My daughter was so upset about the hot tub. We had to sweep and mop before we could try and enjoy our holiday. Paid 1200 to clean someone's dirty house. Not at all impressed
The house was clean, however it could do with upgrading the beds and furniture. a dressing table would of been nice in the double bedroom. A log fire but no logs! a log fired hot tub but again no logs, a washing line no pegs! etc. The outside furniture was definitely past its best, no table and chairs for outside, the BBQ was completely rusty we didn't use this or the hot tub. Just a few improvements would make this holiday home more appealing.
Beautiful bungalow, with hot tub and games . Room. Well equipped with everything needed to cook a meal in. Gorgeous Seaviews, and stunning views of the sunset. Close to Mermaid pub on Porth Beach where they serve pub meals. Nice touch with the cream tea . Would definitely recommend.
Chelsea
Absolutely gorgeous cottage with an amazing view of the beach and sea! It was a pleasure staying there! The log fire in the living room was amazing! And the hot tub was really good too! Thank you for the amazing holiday! Was really weird coming back to Liverpool after having that view to look at each day! Will definitely come back!!
We had a lovely stay, its close to everything, clean and well equipped.
The house was as pictured. However it could have done with a deeper clean as there were multiple cobwebs on corners of all the rooms. I was also disappointed to have to put away the dishes from the previous stay. The kettle and toaster could do with a bit of an upgrade as the toaster on the highest setting took about 2 goes to get even mildly toasted toast.

A perfect 'home from home Very clean and comfortable spacious garden for dogs the games room and hot tub are a bonus. Very near to Porth Beach. Best to travel by car though if you can't manage the hill back to the bungalow. Very well equipped, especially in the kitchen..... microwave, dishwasher, washerdryer, freezer etc.... Plenty of board games to play as well as TV with many channels. You will not be disappointed....

Wonderful bungalow in a perfect location, everything you need for a great holiday. Owners went above and beyond as it was my special birthday, my friend had sent a banner and it was on the wall when we got there, the housekeeper organised flowers from hubby and prosecco from the owners. The sunsets are amazing from the living room, beds comfortable, lots of games if weather not good, games room and hot tub had limited use because we had fabulous weather but we found hot tub hot enough after a couple of hours. Within 5 miles lots of great beaches, country pubs and walks, we have already booked again for next year!

We had a lovely week at Chi An Mor. The property was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The kitchen was really well equipped. The children loved the games room too. Location was great, we could walk to the beach and get to all other surroundings beaches easily. Wed love to return at some point!
Lovely property plenty of space. Little sweet extras from the owners on arrival. Kitchen well kitted out. Local shops. It to far but need the car. Mermaid pub has lovely home cooked food. PERFECT LOCATION stroll downhill to beach. Only little gripe is the more wood or notice where to get it We drove round for while trying to find some. The hot tub takes 5 hours to get up to temp but it was at least still warm next morning Would love to visit again
Lovely property with a great owner. Much better view of the sea than I thought. Easy walking distance of the beach.
Andrew
We had such a wonderful time. Views, walks, location 1010. Accommodation 1010 Welcome pack for us & our dogs 1010 I really wish the hoover worked or at least a dustpan & brush to sweep my dogs hairs. I wanted to make sure the place was kept clean but it was so difficult without the tools to do it. Apart from that we totally loved our holiday and will rebook. I will bring my own vacuum though.
Lovely stay, really enjoyed the bungalow and how close it was to the beach
The accommodation was fantastic, everything that we needed was available. The secure garden was excellent for our dogs to run around without a worry. The washerdryer was great for get the towels dry every day. The Mermaid pub on Porth beach is only a 5 minute walk but a little longer to get back as which ever way you walk back you will have to walk up a steep hill. We had a great time walking the dogs and Chi an Mor made the holiday even better. We have already booked again for next year.
Absolutely amazing! My favourite ever Cornwall holiday rental! The views from lounge and hot tub are incredible. Loved the facilities including log burner, board games, lovely welcome pack, games room and well equipped kitchen etc! House was beautifully decorated with original art by owner and was very comfortable including the beds. Location was perfect with five minutes to porth beach which is gorgeous plus a lovely tea room and pub nearby! The garden was great and my kids enjoyed the hammock and space! Overall 1010 all round!
The house is amazing. Everything that is shown and described online and more! The welcome pack was such a nice gesture. Fresh bread, milk, jam, clotted cream and scones aswell as the wood etc. Fresh white fluffy towels provided and all of the bed linen was fresh, clean, white and comfortable. Plenty cleaning equipment and a clothes maiden aswell as an iron and board. The bar and beach are so close. It has quite a steep hill which may prove difficult for some but we managed just fine and had our beach trolly with us too. We visited new beaches every day all of which were only a short drive and Newquay town centre isnt far to drive and has plenty parking. Its well equipped with everything you could need and had sugar, sweeteners, salt, pepper etc already there. The decor is beautiful with some amazing pieces of artwork by the property owner on display. I dont have pets myself and even though the property allows pets there was no sign of them at all. It was absolutely spotless and did not smell of pets at all. I read the reviews about the hot tub and really dont understand the issue. We had it lit every night with no problems at all. The views whilst sat in it are fantastic.

We had the best stay in Chi An Mor! It had everything we needed and the views are amazing. Wed highly recommend this property and would love to stay again when its available.
Nicola
Chi An Mor is a beautiful bungalow with great views over Porth Beach . We had a great week , The hot tub is useless , we tried to light it twice but gave up in the end which was disappointing as I booked this rental because it had a hot tub . Garden is nice and spacious for dogs to run around although it is overlooked from neighbours at the back and we did feel a little on show . Garden chair covers could do with a wash . Didnt use the BBQ as no table in the garden to eat at . The Bungalow could do with blinds up in the kitchen and the garden room as when you are sat on sofa people can see straight in to the sitting room . Chi An Mor would benefit from more seats in the sitting room as there is a huge space unused . We thought that it could have been cleaner too ! Cobwebs in the bathroom , sofa not vacuumed dogs hairs all under cushions dust underneath sofa . Back Door needs a good wash and so do all the window frames and Patio Door frames . The welcome pack for our dogs was much appreciated toys and treats The human welcome pack of scones , Jam & Cream and a loaf of bread was a lovely thought ,a pint of milk would have made it just perfect . We didnt use the oven only the hob which was great . Plenty of utensils but could do with extra cups plates and cutlery as we were forever washing them up . There is a washing line in the garden but only 3 pegs . A hose pipe which was great for cleaning our doggies . Shower was great and lovely soft towels . The few things Ive mentioned did not spoil our holiday .. we had a great time . Thank you Chi An Mor for the memories .
The bungalow was lovely and bright, beds were comfortable and clean, close to the beach and only 25 mins walk into Newquay which was a bonus, shame about the hot tub lots of baby sitting, cant really go out because you have to keep adding wood but over all 1010 every thing else.
What an amazing house to stay in! ! The house layout was perfect, all the facilities were 100. Small things were provided too which helped massively from bin bags, to washing tablets, dishwasher tablets, cooking oil and salt & pepper. The view of porth beach from the living room window and hot tub was amazing, especially at sunset. If I had to pick at anything it would be that maybe more fire wood should be provided for the hottub as you only get enough for 1 use but we were able to buy more 8.50 a bag at logs n coal....a 10 minute drive away. Other than that this house was perfect for our family of 4 plus dog as the garden is more than big enough and nice snd enclosed. We will be back 100.
Brilliant location, beautiful views and so close to Porth beach. Dont rely on the hot tub, it takes ages to fire up and doesnt stay warm. Games room is great and the cottage and location outweigh the disappointment of the hot tub.
Katherine
A warm and welcoming stay a few minutes walk from the lovely Porth beach and handy for the coastal path.

The property was a Jewel in a Crown! From the moment we all stepped into Chi An Mor, we felt at home and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay in Cornwall. The house is a short walk to Porth Beach which is idyllic for a walk across the headland too!
Very nice holiday bungalow short walk to the beach. Very clean. Everything you need. Good size garden. Good parking space. Nice pub with good food just down the hill.
Lovely property, and great location. Would suggest however that there were blinds at the window at the back of the house as very overlooked.
Rebecca
Beautiful place overlooking the coast. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.
