About Coquet

Located on the edge of the village, this property offers the best of both worlds with walking and cycling routes from the doorstep and within easy reach of the beaches and local attractions. Embleton (1.5 miles) is a great start, with its excellent farm shop/delicatessen, friendly golf club and walking path to the beautiful bay. Low Newton’s sandy beach (2.5 miles) is perfect for a rejuvenating walk, picnics and drinks in the beachside pub. Head to Craster for seafood and the coastal path to explore Dunstanburgh Castle (5 miles). Wander round the gorgeous gardens at Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum (5 miles) and enjoy refreshments in the Earl Grey Tea House. Stroll along Beadnell Bay watching water sports and try some rock pooling, and there is a beachside cafe and two pub/restaurants in the village. Take a boat trip from Seahouses (7 miles) to the Farne Islands for amazing wildlife and visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens (7 miles). Step into the bright hallway of this spacious family holiday home where you can store your outdoor clothing and sit down to take off walking boots and shoes. The downstairs WC is just off the hallway. The house has been furnished and presented with your every comfort in mind and benefits from underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner features a wood burner-effect gas fire in the lounge area which is easy to operate using the remote control for instant cosiness. There are two large, leather sofas plus an easy chair to relax on, a large Smart TV on the wall and bi-folding doors open onto the enclosed patio area and garden for indoor/outdoor living during the warmer months. In the kitchen, you will find everything you need to make delicious meals, including an eye-level electric oven and microwave, an electric hob, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The dining table has seating for up to six guests so you can all sit together at mealtimes and spread your maps out to plan your walks and activities. A door leads to the utility room with plenty of cupboards and a washing machine, and the back door leads out to the garden. When it’s time to sleep, head to the first floor to find the three stylishly presented bedrooms. The king-size has a view across the fields towards the local woodland and plenty of storage space. The contemporary en-suite shower room comprises a shower cubicle and WC. The pretty double has the same view and a built-in wardrobe via a clever sliding door, while the single bedroom overlooks the garden with a trundle bed (which can be made up as a twin or a double for an additional child guest) and a wall-mounted TV. The family bathroom completes the accommodation with a shower over the bath, and WC. Outside at the rear, there is an enclosed garden and patio with garden furniture where you can unwind and enjoy morning coffees and al fresco family dining. A side gate leads out to the driveway. At the front, there is a large gravel driveway where you can park up to three cars off road. A gently sloping ramp leads to the front door.

Coquet Reviews

Mary
Very comfortable, well equipped house. It was spotlessly clean throughout with the ideal, enclosed garden. Good directions so easy to find and tasty, welcoming treats. Excellent!
Julie
On the whole this property was very clean and really well equipped. It was very comfortable and had everything you would need for a holiday. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Helen
We absolutely loved our stay at Coquet. The house is perfect for families (and dogs) with lots of room downstairs and lovely bedrooms upstairs. We could tell that the owners had put lots of thought into what is needed in a holiday home, everything was provided including hand soap in all the bathrooms, dishwasher tablets, washing line, etc. It was in a great location, being just 15 minutes from Alnwick and 10 minutes from Beadnell where we spent most of our time. We would definitely return to this property!
Christopher
This is a very modern house. Cleanliness and condition is immaculate. It is extremely well located for Alnwick, Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh. You must have a car.
Helen
A superb cottage that was ideal for our familyâ??s stay. Quality and clean throughout, felt very much like a home from home, much more so than you usually get when staying at a holiday property. The kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of space inside and out, ideally located for exploring the local area and for our daughterâ??s wedding at Newton Hall. As our family were staying in both Linhope and Coquet, it was a really useful touch having a gate in the back fence between the two houses that we could open to go between the two
Alan
Delightful house and in a great location for touring the North East coastline. Had everything we needed. Would use again.
Katherine
Absolutely perfect place to stay so clean perfect location was a lovely home away from home.
Melanie
Fabulous new house luxuriously equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Short drive to fabulous beaches and great pubs/restaurants.
