Damson Lodge Reviews

Lovely lodge, very clean and in a quiet spot. Hot tub was great!
Had a great week at Damson Lodge, great base to explore the lake district. Lodge was lovely, clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Would recommend.

The property was very nice but definitely needs updating, we found the cooker ... The property was very nice but definitely needs updating, we found the cooker dirty & the tray inside was just unusable so full of grease
Lovely place, had everything we needed. Super comfy bed and the lodge was in a really easy to find places. Loved our time there, hot tub was amazing and would visit again!
Cleanest lodge we have been in ever. Fridge in the living area when we arrived but no comms from Sykes to let us know that the fridge freezer was broken. Did not cause us problem but Sykes charge a lot for admin but are poor at communication. Also we went to get into the hot tub on first night to find it cold, found out it had just been filled, poor planning and a let down.

We had the most beautiful stay at Damson lodge! As a young family, with two under 7s, we found this lodge spacious, comfortable and super clean. It was the perfect base to explore the Lakes and the little parks on site were a hit with the kids. The hot tub was a great addition and we really enjoyed it. We would 100 come back thanks for a lovely stay!

We had such a lovely stay at Damson Lodge. It was in a really good position on the park, set between the restaurant and lake. We had a few good walks, the weather was kind most of the time!. The hot tub was just amazing, especially after a wander out, so relaxing! The lodge itself was perfect. Very clean and it had everything we could need, well presented and the beds were so comfortable. We took our little dog with us, and the decking was perfect for him, very secure. Can't rave enough about the lodge. Will be back xx
Had a great stay . The lodge was clean and quiet and comfortable and had everything that's needed. The hot tub was brilliant
Had a lovely time over Christmas, hot tub was great addition i have stayed in the lodge before and returned so that said it all , had a bit of a issue with heating but was swiftly dealt with and followed up with a few phone calls to check everything was sorted which was greatly appreciated, would return without a doubt.

We come back repeatedly to the same cabin as we know what we are getting and love it . Mark and Sam
Another great long weekend in Damson Lodge. It was made even better with the improvements that have been made! The decking has been completely redone and made such a difference, really secure for my dog also. The hot tub which we love has been moved to the rear and a lot more private. The lodge was so cosy just as we remembered. Really clean, warm, and everything we could need. Had food and drinks at the site restaurant a couple of times and couldn't fault it. Fantastic stay and will be back next year.

Loved our stay at Damson lodge. Lodge was amazing hot tub was a great feature and I felt it was quite private. Brand new decking had been installed and had really good safety gates on them . Would highly recommend Damson lodge
Would absolutely recommend! Was a bit of a last minute booking, looking at the reviews was a bit bothered about the decking as I have a little pug but I needn't have worried. Brand new composite decking looks fantastic! The hot tub has been moved to the back of the lodge which gives a lot more privacy. The lodge itself was so warm, clean and comfy with everything you could need Beds were so comfy too which was a bonus after a long day out walking. Really a gem which is close to the facilities and the lake. Cracking lodge and will definitely be back! The pug and us loved our stay xx

Property is in need of repair , the decking outside is very uneven , part of it taped off , definite trip hazard in places , needs a jet wash and repair. Inside the property is very dated , a cloud of dust in the main bedroom drawers but everywhere else was clean , vacuum does not work , not picking up . I would look at other dog friendly lodges on the park as ideal location, staff very friendly on site and good facilities
The lodge was lovely. The decking could be doing with an upgradenas some of it has sunk and was a uneven in parts. The hot tub has no privacy but apart from that it was really good.
Excellent 4 night stay at Dansom Lodge. Great Location that is central to Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness. Considering this is a pet friendly lodge it was very clean and well maintained and all for a very good price when you compare to other lodges in the area. Hot tub was cleaned and maintained daily too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Damson Lodge, White Cross Bay and we are looking forward to hopefully returning next year. The lodge was lovely inside clean, tidy and so spacious. The full size sofas were comfy as were the beds. The entire lodge including the bathrooms were really clean. It made me so happy that the lodge was pet friendly as well. The hot tub was a lovely addition after long days of walking around the lakes. It was fab that the lodge had towels, dish towels and cleaning products inside. The decking outside was massive and the kids and our dog loved this area to play on. The site is beautiful and it was really quiet which we loved none of us including our kids like noise so it was absolutely perfect for us. We actually loved the area so much we booked another lodge to extend our stay if Damson Lodge had been available we would absolutely have booked for longer! Thank you for a wonderful break and we look forward to returning next year.
Toilets very low. Could have privacy screen around hot tub. Wi fi needs improving. Air conditioning or fans needed. Tin opener didn't work. Would be nice to have a bar or pub for adults only.

The lodge is very tired and needs some TLC. The decking is very uneven in places, a definite stumblingtrip hazard. The hot tub was freezing and unable to be used on the first day and no answer on the number in the file, but fine thereafter. However as we left it was topped up so definitely not cleaned properly between guests which is poor. Some areas inside were dusty and marks on the carpets and one window blown. Comfy beds and quiet and peaceful so still a relaxing break.
Myself and my partner were lucky enough to have stumbled upon this gem of a lodge! Well stocked, well furnished and so comfortable. Was like a home from home. The weather was incredible which helped . Decking was well furnished, lovely comfortable furniture and an INCREDIBLE hot tub which was the icing on the lodge cake. A friend was staying on the park with his 2 pooches and when they came to visit the dogs had a great time on the secure decking. We don't have dogs but very dog friendly. Highly recommend and definitely staying again!

A lovely, well equipped lodge. We enjoyed the hot tub and found several walks which were a short drive away.
Damson Lodge was everything we'd hope for. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The Hot Tub was an added bonus and so relaxing. We didn't use any other of the clubs facilities as we wanted a relaxed weekend away from hussal and noise. It was lovely to walk our Dog around the camp and to the lake nearby. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and would love to return next year. The location was perfect for exploring the area and there was a handy bus service nearby. T
Amazing stay in Damson Lodge. Accuracy of listing was actually better than expected, with new decor and furniture. Hot Tub tech also told us we were the first to use the new hot tub which was special . The master suite was the comfiest bed I've stayed in. The lodge was spotlessly clean, warm and spacious. There were a few games, along with a wide rage of DVD's for the quieter nights. Used the park restaurant on a couple of occasions which was really good. Great food and staff were friendly. Everything we could have needed. Highly recommend. Looking again for later in the year!

Hi The Patio Doors on the rear wouldn't open . this meant that we had to use the Front door for Access to the Hot Tub . Other than that we really enjoyed the Holiday . 3rd year running and about to book again for next year . Many Thanks

Overall we liked our stay at the Lodge, great location, good site facilities. The main bathroom had a weird strong smell to it, at first we thought bleach but it didnt shift so we didnt use it the stay which wasnt a massive problem as we had the en suite. Feel the lodge could do with a general revamp. Hot tub didnt work first night so Id messaged about it, didnt get a reply although wed then realised it had been refilled which was why it wasnt working. I got a good deal on the lodge but wouldnt have wanted to pay a huge amount to stay here.

Our week away was excellent. White Cross Bay park itself was great good food in the restaurant. Staff in the restaurantbar were very helpful and friendly. The majority of the lodge was very clean. There were just a couple of things that let it down slightly. Parts of the kitchen were definitely not very clean, the microwave, the top of the cooker was very dirty and there were dried food marks on the kitchen tops. We felt parts of the lodge just needed a bit of TLC, some of the window handles were very loose, the backs of the sofas had gone, so you felt like you were half lying down when sat on them. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. The hot tub was brilliant. Besides a few issues, we would go back and stay there again.
The lodge was perfect. Very clean and well equipped everything we needed for our stay. The only let down was the upkeep of the outside deck area. It is dangerously slippery in places, even in warm dry conditions. It also feels unstable in certain areas and is in need of a good jet wash and general attention. Also, the guttering above the door is blocked causing rain to drip on you as you lock up. Minor issue but just needs addressing. Overall we had a lovely stay, if these fairly quick wins were sorted it would be perfect.

Fantastic stay! Loved every minute worth every penny! Such a spacious lodge! Everything we needed was there. Hot tub bonus kids loved it! Beautiful area! Would 100 come back! Thank you for a fantastic stay!

We booked this lodge based on previous reviews and sadly it did not meet our expectations. On arrival the lodge was warm and appeared clean we later discovered the microwave was filthy and on using the hob grease actually dripped down from the cooker hood. We cleaned this to make it usable and reported to the cleaning ladies who assured us they would do a deep clean for the incoming guests. The lodge is very well equipped and the towels and bedding were really lovely. However the lodge is in need of some TLC. There are some marks on the wallpaper in several areas and the dining chairs are badly marked. The outside area is very well furnished but the decking and surrounding railings need repair work. we had to use a recliner against the railings to ensure our dog did not escape. The hot tub was well serviced on a daily basis but the brambles growing through the fence into this area made it a challenge to remove the cover without getting scratched. All the PAT tests on the electrical equipment expired in January 2024 not a legal requirement we know but reassuring to guests that they are staying in a safe property. We don't feel we could recommend this lodge unless some time and money is spent bringing it up to standard!
Lovely holiday park ran by Parkdean Resorts. Clean and well kept. The barclubhouse was good, food was reasonably priced and was quite tasty. The beer did taste odd for the 1st couple of days we went in, but i think the pipes were cleaned and was much better after. The lodge it's self was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Hot tub is well maintained with 2 visits per day to check rhe pH levels. And when checked out it was emptied and cleaned. The mattress in the master bedroom was far too soft for us though, but that's just one small minor and everything else outweighed this.

We booked for 4 nights in Damson Lodge and were really pleased with our accommodation. Lovely big living space, 2 good size bedrooms especially the master the Huge bath was great, and a well equipped kitchen. The outside area was ideal and secure for the dogs . All in all a very pleasant experience.
Shirley
1 shower mixer valve was loose and caused issues with showering. Lamp in bedroom was flickering. Knives for cutting meatvegetables were blunt.
Holiday was superb with everything supplied and in good quality condition. Hot tub was lovely and warm for our arrival and stayed that way throughout our stay! Only downside was on the morning of our departure the water went off at approx 0915am meaning we couldn't use the toilet or fill our water bottles up prior to checkout at 10am.
Cheryl
Lovely Lodge, very clean.
The lodge was lovely clean and situated perfectly to reach Ambleside and Boness bus stop right outside. ..I think the only things you could improve on is a new kettle, some better quality pillows as these were very flat, maybe leave a spare throw or duvet for the beds as it dud get a little chilly, ..Also bus times would be very handy . But a brilliant stay Damson lodge was lovely, can't wait to come back ,thank you.
