Far Coley Farm & Log Cabin Reviews

Jacqueline
We had a lovely time at Far Coley Farm. The house is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. There were just a few minor inconveniences which, if addressed, would make me give the property 5 stars The grey dinner plates did not fit in the dishwasher so we had to wash them by hand. There was only 1 dishwasher tab. We felt more should have been provided. The twin bedded room in the Log Cabin did not have any visible power sockets. None of us brought any shampoo or shower gel as we were expecting it to be provided and it wasnt. We received a welcome email from the owner at 15.04 on the day we checked in. It would have been helpful to have received this a couple of days before we arrived, especially as one of our party took a wrong turn and ended up in a neighbouring farm, much to the displeasure of the farmer! This would have been avoided if we had received the email prearrival. The code for the key safe contained some strange characters. I texted one of the contact numbers to ask about this but no one replied! When I arrived, I went to the key safe. When I opened it, there were no keys inside which was rather concerning! It turned out the owner had left the doors open but I had a few anxious minutes until I discovered this! All of these are easy to rectify. Thank you.
Lovely location and great accommodation We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding at nearby Sandon Hall. It worked perfectly. The hot tub was particularly appreciated. Recommended!
Very peaceful location with wonderful views. The house had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Emily was very helpful answering any questions promptly we had beforehand. We would love to stay there again

Absolutely loved our holiday here and amenities were great thought of everything. Few minor issues. Loft bedroom found rubbish in cupboard and frame bed very noisy. Log fuelled hot tub no bubbles and if have young children no guard around or fence to protect.storage space for food with large party we found bit of issue Views are stunning along with lakes for paddle boarding, lots of outdoor space . Log cabin is amazing, beds comfortable. Main house with large conservatory great for entertaining. If any disabled in party would be nice for better access to be provided the gravel area is difficult for anyone use but enjoyed our stay here and very accommodating would recommend to friends and family just highlighting things to maybe think about
We so enjoyed our annual family holiday at Far Coley Farm in late July with 16 of us ranging from 18 months up to 73 years old. The Farm House and Log Cabin provide an excellent base with far reaching views over the wonderful Staffordshire Countryside. With 8 bedrooms to choose from between the main house and the Log Cabin, all our needs were catered for. Bear in mind there is no downstairs loo in the main Farmhouse. The family loved using the Hot Tub but, as it is warmed by wood burning, it took roughly 4 hours to get it to an acceptable temperature so plan your use carefully. The 3 lakes in the gardens were very scenic with duck, moorhen and Canada Geese frequent visitors. There are numerous paths around to follow and my son and son in law went off running most days doing over 10 miles each time. Local attractions include a fantastic Farm Shop, Canal Walks, Trentham Monkey Sanctuary and the National Trust Estate at Shugborough. Staffordshire is an area we hadn't visited before and we were very surprised at how beautiful it all was and a base at Far Coley Farm for a large family gathering certainly go hand in hand.
Stayed at Far Coley Farm for a group 30th celebration 15 guests in total. The house surrounding land was amazing. We were fortunate enough to have great weather so the huge amount of outdoor garden furniture the lake paddle boarding went down a huge treat. Emily was fantastic, very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Would absolutely recommend!
We had a family gathering for 15 people, from 3 generations, and this venue really supported the success of that. The staff are very friendly and helpful in supporting a great stay as well. The eating, lounge, and outdoor areas are fantastic. We used the outdoor woodfired hot tub and it was surprisingly easy, and heated well without needing extra wood, and stayed warm for a long time with the cover on. The grounds and surrounding area were awesome with excellent walks we went along the canal from the farm shopcafe The kitchen is very well stocked, with an excellent fridge. It is a long, narrow galley kitchen, which limits the movement in there, but we found it workable for a group that size. There is no WiFi in the log cabin currently. Since we were only sleeping there, that wasn't a big deal for us. They are going to fix it for the future, so if that is a big deal for you, check the status of that. The main house is from an era before people were 6ft, so if you are tall, mind your head! We all had a lovely time and this venue certainly delivered for us and greatly enhanced our event, and we would recommend without hesitation.
Emily was an amazing host very responsive to our needs throughout the stay and its such a beautiful place!
Very comfortable property in a stunning location. The sunsets were beautiful. Loved all the outdoor seating and nights around the firepit. Would definitely return.

Very disappointed with the property, not suitable for dogs or young children as need supervision 247 outside. Beds and seating needs improving, poor lighting in conservatory. Kitchen to small for large amount of people no food storage cupboards. Owners started to set up for next customer before we had left put pipe across lawns, cutting grass, frightened our dogs with strimmer, empty hot tub soaking the grass,, lots of traffic going thru the property, no boundaries, believe we should get some compensation. Emailed Sykes to inform them of this but got no reply.

What a wonderful place Far Coley Farm is. Emily was so helpful too! It was an amazing weekend in a stunning location. The views are beautiful. Plenty of space both indoors and out. The house was very well equipped and had everything you could possibly need. The fridge freezer is huge too which was helpful especially the wine cooling drawer. The conservatory is my favourite room as there are panoramic views across the whole farm. The sun rises and sunsets were gorgeous. I stayed in the log cabin which was fabulous. Both the house and cabin were cosy and constantly warm. I can highly recommend Far Coley Farm and plan to return because we didnt want to leave.
Kathryn
Great place for our big family getaway. Lots of extras provided, tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets and a well stocked kitchen, crockery, glasses etc.The hot tub was a great hit with the children.
Lovely property. Ideal for large family gathering. Very comfortable beds. Would definitely stay again.

What a fabulous place and such a stunning location. We had an amazing stay for my 60th Birthday and would recommend it to anyone . very well equipped, comfortable beds really clean everyone said what a fantastic place it was. Izzy was a great host and very helpful thank you
What a find, Far Coley Farm and Kilnhurst Log Cabin was just perfect for us to celebrate our mum's 80th birthday. So much space indoors and out. We wanted for nothing, the house and log cabin had everything you could need and more. So clean and comfortable. The owners should be very proud of themselves, I am sure their father would be. We will most certainly be back.
Fantastic property in a fantastic location. I can thoroughly recommend it. It has everything you could possibly need. I had guests from all over the country, France and Italy and we all loved it. Lyn Starkie

Far Coley Farm was absolutely perfect! Such a beautiful location and both the main building and log cabin were stunning and so comfortable and well equipped. We saw Emily briefly and she was lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone everyone! and would be back in a heartbeat. Thanks so much!
The property served us well for a reunion party as there were plenty of rooms and it was a great base for days out too. We did find the galley kitchen cramped for catering for a party of 12.
Booked for a family get together. Great location and wonderful views. All thoroughly enjoyed the place, comfortable and warm. Hot tub was very popular. Kitchen accommodated a meal for fourteen. Would recommend.
There was dog poo on the drive when we arrived and gone off cream spilt in the fridge on arrival. The living area was small for 14 adults and the conservatory too cold to sit in the evenings. We couldnt get the heating right as it was too either too warm downstairs but too cold upstairs.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed for a weekend away with friends. We played games, cooked together, did craft activities, walked in the beautiful local area and enjoyed the woodfired hot tub. All of the beds were so comfy and we loved the communal areas, particularly the conservatory. It is an added bonus that the site the house sits on is beautiful and so well maintained. It made the perfect spot for watching the sunset and stars. We will definitely be back!
The cottage and cabin are both very comfortable properties, in an amazing countryside setting. We had amazing time enjoying meals in the dining room and bbqs . We didn't try the hot tub, but it is very well situated.. We very much enjoyed our week there and are already trying g to arrange another trip.
Overall excellent 5 star experience, easy check in procedure, warm hospitality, pleasant stay and will defiantly visit again. need to look in to Hot tub warming up time, wood log takes lot of time and effort to warm up, procedure to fire log need to be explained properly, washing machine was listed but it was not available, if provided it would add value, need hanging hooks or towel rack and door locks is recommended in bathroom.
