Fell Foot Reviews

We loved our stay at Fell Foot. The cottage was beautiful and very well maintained, we felt right at home. We loved the collection of games, especially the Wii Sports Resort on a very rainy day. The kitchen was well equipped, we were a big group and never struggled with big pots and pans. The hosts kindly provided butter, bread, cake and chocolate, as well as a very nice note, which was a lovely touch to the stay. The hot tub at the back of the house was very nice and well needed after hiking up Scafell Pike. Overall was an amazing stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you Kate and Dawn!
A lovely cottage ,ideally situated for w alking and exploring the lake district . Great facillities at the cottage .
Our stay at Fell Foot was nothing short of perfect. Such a beautiful home, in a wonderful setting, with views to die for. The house itself was spotlessly clean and the little touches upon arrival were lovely milk, tea & coffee, bread, butter, and some lovely cake visitors literally want for nothing. We instantly felt at home and our two dogs loved exploring the magnificent garden. We could tell they too were very happy, which made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. Fell Foot is in close proximity a few minutes walk to the pub and craft shop cafe and we have to say, their cheese scones are a must!! A real homefromhome in every sense, even if the weather has you beat, or you just want to curl up in front of the log burner and watch TV, Fell Foot has it all, including Sky TV, Netflix, Apple TV, etc use your own passwords, obviouslyeven game consoles if thats your preference. The rooms were delightfully furnished, with crisp linen and comfy bed in the ensuite master bedroom. The very large boot room was perfect for tired pooches to relax, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, etc there is a local Sparpetrol station nearby to purchase all the food you need. This was without question the most relaxing and perfect little break we have had, and we cannot recommend Fell Foot highly enough! So lovely to see a beautiful family home being kept alive and shared with so many families all making their own memories. Thank you, Kate & Dawn for a truly wonderful visit.
Christine
This is a beautiful, well kept house with a lovely garden and surrounded by the most amazing countryside. We came here for a week to celebrate my big birthday and we were all really impressed by the facilities the house offered. It felt like home from home and I couldn't have wished for anywhere more perfect to stay. We would stay here again and hope to do so. A big thank you to the owner.

We had an amazing time. The cottage is in a beautiful area, it was so peaceful and quiet. I would definitely recommend
We loved our stay at Fell Foot. The house the garden and the location were perfect for our family and the dog. We needed nothing extra in the house and the hot tub and log fire were great. Theres plenty of room for 8 guests and so much to do either by taking short car journeys or just by walking out of the house. I would definitely recommend the property to anybody wanting to explore the Western Lake District.
Beautiful property, perfect for 8 of us in a great situation very comfortable and clean. There was a lovely welcome basket and even treats for our dog! Great hot tub too we will certainly be back!
From the welcome basket to the accommodation we were delighted. It had everything, the Hot tub was wonderfully placed with fantastic views, its location was near to quaint cafe, beaches and pub..not to mention the amazing wast water. Having been to many skye holiday cottages this was the best. We will be recommending to others...not too loudly as we dont want to miss out when we book again
Lovely cottage. Well equipped, with everything you could need. Situated in an ideal location. Would definitely go back.

This home and it's surroundings are absolutely beautiful. My family of 5 stayed for Christmas, New year and my Husband's 50th birthday. We had the most amazing two weeks here and fell in love. We were all sad to leave. We hope we can go back in the near future.
Jennifer
Loved the Cottage. Excellent location with walks on the doorstep and a lovely pub and cafe two minutes away. The Cottage was well equipped with everything we needed, and the bonus of the hot tub after some cold walks was great. The boot roomutility room was great for all our wet clothing and wet dogs. We would love to go back in the summer to spend more time in the beautiful garden. We had a power cut, and Dawn sorted it out very quickly.
We absolutely loved our stay at Fell Foot. The location is excellent for all of our favourite activities hiking, cycling and getting out on the water. The garden was enormous which our dog loved and the hot tub was most welcome after an active day, especially the beautiful view of the fells. There were plenty of options of pubs and cafes nearby. We also loved the thoughtful basket of goodies left for us and package of essentials for our dog. We cannot wait to return <3
Michaela
Beautiful home from home, has everything you need for a great holiday whatever the weather. Location is stunning, and you are well placed to visit sites around the West Lakes and coast. Hot tub a bonus at the end of a day sightseeing.
The property is very well equipped with everything we could need including maps. The property is spacious and very well looked after. The location was superb with easy access to the Western lakes. There are three pubs within easy distance of the property. The hot tub has a fantastic view of the fells. I would thoroughly recommend this property.
Wonderfully clean and spacious house with lots of character. Great location being so close to Wastwater and the surrounding mountains including Scafell Pike scenery is absolutely stunning and we were really lucky to have mostly fabulous weather too. Host and housekeeper were very responsive and friendly throughout our stay.
Heather
Gorgeous homely cottage well equipped. Loved the hot tub after some fabulous hikes. Beautiful well kept gardens enjoyed by both dogs & humans! Only a few mins walk to a lovely gift shopcafe. Great food and service enjoyed at the The Bridge Inn. Everywhere we came across was dog friendly. Good communication from Dawn the housekeeper. What a stunning location, stunning cottage and stunning stay! Thank you!
Michael
We had a fabulous time in this beautiful cottage, a real family home which was so cosy and had all the facilities you would need. The gardens were lovely and well maintained with a hot tub which was so relaxing and had beautiful views to look at whilst you relaxed. We had fun evenings on the wii, and a great choice of film on sky. Fuel for the wood burner was plentiful. We lived the cottage so much we booked again for March 2025 whilst we were there. Thanks to Dawn for the lovely welcome and hamper.
Phillip
Lovely place in a great location and great communication. Would Def stay again.
Nicola
Amazing stay, lovely cottage, peaceful, tranquil, just what we wanted. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped, the little one loved playing with. Amazing hot tub views. Great contact from Kate and Dawn.
Alison
The property and gardens were amazing the views spectacular. If I were to recommend anything at all it would be more comfortable mattress in the king sized room and proper 3 foot 6 single beds in the other rooms. It's not always small children who require a single bed. This said it would truly take some beating. Provided the best rr withing easy reach of bars, plenty of walking both gentle and more challenging. Would deffinatly book again.
Russell
What a find. The most beautiful of locations, the most beautiful cottage and excellent facilities. A small stream running through the garden, bridges, a covered gorgeous Hot Tub with breathtaking views and the cottage couldnt feel more Lake District. Dawn was VERY helpful and the cleanliness, instructions and welcome gifts were lovely. Thank you for a very wonderful holiday, we shall be back.
Christopher
I stayed here with friends for a walking holiday and we absolutely loved the place. The owners had left us a lovely welcome package and the cottage had everything that we needed. Can't imagine a better way to finish a day of strenuous walking than sitting in a hot tub and looking out at the snowcapped fells!
Very comfy and delightfully situated cottage
Andrew
A lovely Cumbrian stone cottage, which has been sympathetically extended. The cottage has all the facilities we could have wished for, including a hot tub at the top of the garden. In summary a lovely quiet location. Santon Bridge is a small village however there is a good pub, and several good tea shops cafes. Eskdale Green and Wasdale are very close, lovely unspoilt villages, with more places to eat and drink, and the idyllic Wastwater lake.
Fantastic garden, views and facilities, wii for the kids when needed, range of books games, fully furnished property, great sized laundryboot room for dogs, hanging outerwear, storing boots etc. Bedrooms were comfortable and really clean as were the bathrooms, with an abundance of towels I think its fair to say the decor is a little dated, but our interaction with the owners and the prep for our stay along with the overall comfort levels more than made up for this. Most of the days are spent outside and it was a great place to return to after rafting, walking etc and is perfectly positioned for the great pub, just down the road. Fully recommend staying here, for the space in the house, views, facilities provided by owner, the great garden and overall comfort
What a fabulously large cottage in a great location that easily accommodated 6 adults and 2 dogs. Gorgeous garden and the hot tub was a delight after a day's hiking.
Excellent house very well situated and equipped. Owners and housekeeper are lovely and always on hand to help. Would stay again
Amazing spacious accomodation. .everything we needed.
A comfortable family property with fantastic views and a great well kept garden with beautiful flowers , squirrels and birds galore with sheep in the surrounding fields . The cottage has everything you need , spacious rooms , books and games available and a tinkle on the piano too . Welcome pack was great with bones for our dogs too. Fab location , walks from the cottage , Ravenglass railway 10 minutes away , and less than a 40 minute drive will take you to Wastwater , Whitehaven and St Bees. An hour away is Coniston water , a drive over the hills , and through windy roads, Ice cream and gingerbread in Hawkshead not to be missed . Overall a fantastic holiday , we would definitely love to visit Fell Foot again .
The cottage excesses are expectations. It was clean and well equipped. The gardens were stunning. The location was truly tranquil. The most enjoyable week with family. The dogs enjoyed the peaceful surrounds. Would definitely go back.
Such a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area, there was 8 of us staying all together and there was plenty of room for us and it made such a nice weekend, we are already looking at rebooking to come back!
Daniel
Fantastic property with character, as described and really wellequipped. Loads of board games plus waterproof OS 125k maps to borrow. Fell view from hot tub with a plastic glass of something fizzy was a treat! Local pub 1 min walk, 1.5 mile walk through local wood past tarn and round to halt station on the steam railway 1.75 miles to pub at Eskdale Green and fab hike over Irton Fell with Wasdale views to brill pub at Nether Wasdale The Strands. Easy and fun local drives, overall quiet area of the Lakes. Great having Fell Foot to come back to at night. Highly recommended.
This was a very well equipped residence and the garden was fabulous for our two terriers. we would definitely stay again.
What an amazing property, so well equipped. From bread and butter, to waterproof maps. And of course tea and cake! Amazing. Dawn, the housekeeper, was so helpful and on hand at any moment. Beautiful views from the hot tub and garden, there is a cattle grid at the front of the property, which, somehow, our dog managed to get across, but only once, we think he didnt like the experience first time. We loved to play the games which were on the bookshelf, with all the pieces still in their boxes! Oven gloves and tea towels, plastic rubbish bags and kitchen roll were all available for us, in the kitchen.
Thomas
Lovely property, great location, and quick communication from housekeeper. Had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in the Lake District.
It was a beautiful location. On arriving in the cottage, the extra touches that were there was lovely, being welcomed with a lovely Welcome card and pack with even extra for your 4 legged friends. Arriving in December, expecting it to be cold, the cottage was warm and comfortable. Highly recommend to stay here.
Elizabeth
An absolutely fantastic property. We loved our stay a cosy, homely property in a fantastic location. We cant wait to return!
Shelagh
The property was of a very high standard and well equipped. We had a great stay and loved the hot tub. It was perfect after a day of walking. Everything from booking to picking up keys was perfect, Kate even contacted us to say it was ready early if we needed to arrive sooner. This was very thoughtful and well received as we were in the area early! I can see us booking again in future. Thank you
Adrian
Very comfortable and well equipped property. Brilliant location with lots to do and see. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a days walking looking out onto the fells. Owner very friendly and helpful. Overall a very relaxing holiday.
