Glebe Cottage, Bamburgh

Glebe cottage is in a great location for exploring north Northumbria. It was comfortable and clean but a bit too snug for 4 people. In giving a star rating I always ask myself if I would recommend it and I can't hence the two stars. Reasons? It's showing it's age and really needs refurbishment inside. Outside doors desperately need repainting. There were also lots of little things, e.g. cushions missing from the sofas, no baking trays, and my pet hate, no pint glasses. No mobile signal inside the property bu wifi was OK.

Lovely old cottage with tidy garden and patio area. Ideally placed for a short 5 minute walk to the village green and a further 5 minutes from the Castle, cricket ground and the beach road. All good with a polite and available landlord in Mr Robinson. Easy to recommend here.

Glebe cottage is, put simply, a gem. On the outskirts of Bamburgh only 5 or so minutes walk from the Green and less than 10 from the Castle and access to the beautiful beach. Dog friendly, welcoming to a fault and very dog safe with open areas readily accessible. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. The only addition might be a welcome pack coffee, tea etc. TV, WiFi and mobile 'phone signals seem iffy in and around Bamburgh at times. The owners live on site and could not be more welcoming, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay at this cottage. It is well placed close to town centre but also sufficiently private and has onsite parking so necessary when staying in Bamburgh. The owner could not have been more helpful and approachable and there was a comprehensive file covering amenities and appliances. Views from the back garden were wonderful towards sea and castle.

Lovely clean warm cottage tucked away behind the owners property giving you privacy. Handy for Bamburgh village and its eateries. Great views of the castle from the rear garden. Owner gave us a tour of the property and its workings on our arrival making us welcome.

Very enjoyable holiday. Cottage was brilliant. Wonderful location and very comfortable accommodation. Owner was friendly and very helpful when I had bad but not completely unexpected news during the holiday. Thank you.

Ideal location as a touring centre for Northumberland, we will be returning.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped and in a perfect position for Bamburgh village and the beach. The owners live next door and were very welcoming. I can particularly recommend the little patio outside the main bedroom for a morning coffee in the sunshine, with lovely views.
