Grebe Cottage Reviews

Lovely cosy cottage with a well equipped kitchen and comfy living room open plan. The property is listed as being suitable for 5 guests, but would struggle to fit 5 adults as the attic bedroom is really only suitable for children. Brilliant location, close to great pubs and the villagebeach. Easy enough to find parking free on roads close to the cottage. Had a lovely stay in Alnmouth.

A wonderful fog friendly cottage in a great location. Clean, cosy, and very welcoming. The only minor drawback for us as dog owners would have been a dedicated garden for dogs, but with the dog friendly beach barely a 10 minute walk away and the coastal path on the doorstep which helped make up for this, and we had a fantastic stay, our two dogs also. It was clean, comfortable, wellequipped, and in an extremely quiet location. The owners were friendly and helpful, and responded to messages quickly prior to our holiday. It made a great base for exploring the area, and there are lovely independent shops along the Main Street, plenty of pubs and a fantastic deli called Scotts Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

We have loved our repeat stay at Grebe Cottage and will certainly return. The village is perfect with many little places to eat and drink options with the cottage is located centrally to it all. Everything you could need is there at the property for a wonderful stay. The facilities are perfect for a family and the dog. Its our closest place to heaven when walking on the beach in Alnmouth and Grebe cottage is the perfect place to relax after. Thank you so much

This was comfortably our favourite holiday house that we have stayed in. Great location, beautiful cottage feels with all the amenities needed to enjoy a family break. The local eating and watering holes are great, lovely local deli, and superb location to catch the train.
Lovely cottage with well equipped kitchen and log burner, double bed not very comfortable and Smart TV was not very smart as did not work properly, nice location and well situated for everything.
Stylish decor, very comfortable, spotless, a pleasure to stay in!
Property lovely, close to beach and has everything you need. Really happy. I really struggled with parking though, some days i had to do 5 or 6 laps of the village to find a space, not ideal with 3 children in tow
This is an ideal cottage to stay in, close to the beach and the lovely facilities in Alnmouth. For visiting other places around the area it is so easy and quick.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grebe cottage and would definitely book it again. Above average standard of accommodation where the owners have cleverly utilised the space within this period cottage. Grebe cottage was very comfortable and clean with cosy atmosphere. Set in an ideal position for all of Alnmouths facilities.

Generally a beautiful quiet place to stay, close to the wonderful beach and countryside walks. Smart decor with good kitchen utensils faculties. Alnmouth has all we need for a super relaxing holiday. We loved the place, small negative, was the shared garden was across the road. We thought the property was straight onto garden
We loved the house and will probably be back for a winter stay. We struggled with the lack of light coming in. I would recommend the house but with a caveat about the light, view of bins from all the windows and difficulty parking. We found the facilities in the house to be spot on. We would have benefited from a cheese grater and a broom we brought in a lot of sand! Sorry! The cold water pressure in the bathroom is rubbish. I repressurised your boiler as it sounded like a moped starting up whenever it fired! The beds were super comfy!
This is a cosy cottage, in the centre of Alnmouth. There were 4 of us staying over a long weekend. We had a wonderful time. It suited our needs! Thank you.
Lovely cosy feel and so nice to not have notices everywhere. Beautifully decorated and gorgeous art work very well equipped kitchen. Would come back in a heartbeat. The only limitations to the cottage are ones you can do little about but as we were under occupying the small bathroom and slightly cramped sitting room were no problem. The shower is very low but again so is the ceiling water could be hotter though. We had selected for a garden as we bought a small dog with us but as the garden was not attached it was unsuitable but we may have missed that in the listing. Instructions said parking in the Main Street but thats not really true as its limited in time and like gold dust even in April. Thats the charm of Alnmouth.

Not for the elderly, shiny floors ans slippery mats dont work, I took a good tumble and cut my leg on the bed. No ones fault but something you might bear in mind. There were only two of us stayed in the end not sure its big enough for five. On the plus side, it was the cleanest most well appointed cottage we have stayed in.

Perfect location Alnmouth is a lovely village with all that you need beautiful sandy beach with lots of walks from the cottage doorstep, village store stocking all the essentials and treats, numerous eateries, and interesting architecture. The cottage was clean, cosy and warm. No problems finding parking spaces in March. Lots to do within easy reach. Hope to return.
Lovely cottage in a very nice position in Alnmouth. Very comfortable and cosy and the property met the description. Very clean on arrival. Just a few areas that I would suggest for fairness and improvement really. I think it has been mentioned before in previous feedback, but three logs and sticks described as a starter fire pack is not on really especially for winter lets. Only one loo role on arrival for a cottage that sleeps 5 No proper kitchen cloths and a very limited supply of washing up liquid. I am sorry but the cottage is not cheap and you would expect more basic essentials being provided. I would suggest new customers to be aware of this prior to arrival and come prepared. Also for those people not familiar with the Nest Heating system it was tricky to figure out. There was no instructions for this in the cottage information. I think they must have gone missing as the information stated that they should be included. Therefore downstairs cold but small bedroom roasting.
Cosy, centrally sited property within easy reach of all amenities. Would highly recommend.

Grebe Cottage itself was excellent, clean and extremely cosy. The provision of some wood would have been nice for the first night as we arrived after shop hours. There were some sticks and 3 logs but not enough for the night. Some of the shopkeepers need a course in customer relations, one couldnt manage a good morning, whilst another questioned why we asking for mince pies on the 29th of November as it was not Christmas yet. Whilst some locals were pleasant it was evident that others had no time or patience for visitors.
Absolutely loved Grebe Cottage and would definitely recommend to anyone. Excellent location, every facility you could need....log burner was fantastic.
Great cottage, perfection location for the coast and excellent pubs. Very clean and well equipped everything needed for a perfect holiday. Thank you!
