Greenways, Ambleside

A well equipped bungalow in an ideal location. Extremely clean and tidy. Perfect for the two of us and our little pooch who especially enjoyed the complimentary treat. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We were very happy with the accommodation our wee dog also secure garden and plenty seating areas round the garden the cottage was very comfortable everything was thought of to make you feel welcome would be very happy to recommend Greenways to anybody only a short walk to town centre and everything the lakes have to offer

We had a wonderful weeks stay in Greenways with our dog. Its a lovely cottage set on a slight incline and only five minutes walk to the centre of Ambleside, so the location is excellent for pubs and shops. A bonus too is the private parking space. Its spacious, wellequipped, clean and comfy. The ample outside space was enclosed and private so we could enjoy sitting out in the sunshine. We didnt use the car all week as we walked with our dog to Grasmere, Bowness on Windermere and Elterwater, then taking a bus back to Ambleside. We loved it and would like to stay here again.

Lovely cottage, great location, all facilities were of an excellent standard. Front and back patios were very nice especially as the weather was good. Would highly recommend if you were wanting to stay in Ambleside. We never used the cars all week as did walks from Ambleside.

Arriving at the Greenways was straightforward. The property is situated up a slight incline. However the location is ideal and just a five minute walk into the centre of Ambleside. The Greenways is very well equipped. The owners have thought of all eventualties. Self catering you need a well equipped kitchen and The Greenways certainly delivers. The outside area is a lovely sun trap and quite sheltered. We took our small dog and with the enclosed garden it was safe to have a wander around. It is so quiet and peaceful so was ideal for a relaxing getaway.

This was our third stay at Greenways, and it is a fantastic property. It is fully equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable and relaxing break. It is perfectly located and has ample off road parking. The seated garden spaces provide a real sun trap if youre lucky enough to get some sunshine, as we did over the last week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greenways.

Have stay in many cottages over the years in Ambleside, Grrenways is definitely the best, absolutely spotless, we had everything we needed. It felt like home from home. It was very peaceful, and we had some lovely warm weather for March. We love Greenways so much we have already booked to come again in September with Eddie the pug who didn't want to leave. We had such a wonderful stay. The cottage was so cosy, warm, and exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed. It felt like one of the best kittedout places weve stayed in! One of the highlights was the location. Its really close to town, but so lovely and quiet, and just a short walk to the many pubs and restaurants. We also really appreciated how dogfriendly everything is in Ambleside. Wed absolutely love to stay again.

Another very enjoyable week at Greenways made all the better because of the lovely weather considering the time of year with only one rainy day. Cottage was well equipped with everything you could need.

We have stayed at various properties in Ambleside but have always been disappointed not this time. As soon as we entered the property we were impressed by the cleanliness and quality of the furnishings etc. The kitchen was so well equipped, even with lots of cleaning products that I didn't need to use any of mine most properties don't have any, so I always take some. Unfortunately it wasn't sunny enough to sit in the garden, but sitting in the living room, you can watch all the birds flying around the trees and bushes just outside. The property is in a peaceful location but only a few minutes walk down to the shops etc. There are walks to do from the property so you can have car free days out. We definitely recommend Greenways and next time we return to the lake district, we'll be booking this property. Thank you for providing such a comfortable, cosy holiday property.

Bungalow was home from home. Furnished with good quality furniture and soft furnishings. Very well equipped kitchen and spacious. Very clean and perfect location. Many walks can be done from the door. Garden front and back so if lucky to get the sun, like we did, you can catch it in the garden all day. Will definitely be booking again.

We had a lovely stay at Greenways, was a delight to come back to after a long day walking. Not having to drive all week was great, everything from your doorstep. We would recommend a walk or bus to Grassmere, buses every 15 mins absolutely beautiful, the lake has lots of private areas with benches, great for people who love openwater swimming. Rydal Lake and caves a good day out, Ambleside has a large lovely park Rothay, 15 min walk for our fur babies to have a run and great for families, play, picnics and ice cream

Greenway's Holiday cottage continues to be the perfect retreat, with all the comforts of a home and a truly peaceful atmosphere. The cleanliness of the cottage is exceptional, and we highly recommend!

Lovely cottage in a great location, clean and well maintained. It suited us perfectly. The hill on Gale Rigg is steep but not a problem for any of our party. The location is quiet, yet very close to Ambleside shops and attractions. There is something for everyone in Ambleside and so do hope to book again next year.

A very clean and well equipped property. Very convenient for Ambleside and good parking. Lovely garden, I had my eye on a lovely hosta and managed to buy one! One of the reasons we booked this property was it has a bath but the bathroom and bath are very small. You can't lie down properly in the bath, it's too short and shallow. The overhead shower is good but I am a bath person! We had amazing weather for the Lakes and the duvets were much too hot unfortunately. A very quiet neighbourhood. One observation, think this is the only property we have stayed in in the Lakes, and we've stayed in a few, that didn't have a welcome pack, ie biscuits, bottle of wine or the like.

We have stayed at Greenways for several years and just love the bungalow. It is so peaceful and just a short walk to the shops in Ambleside. Hope to return again.

This is our second stay at Greenways and we had a lovely week. The property is perfect for a break in Ambleside. It is spotless and has everything and more that you need to enjoy your stay. We had a full week of constant sunshine and we made great use of the garden patio areas, which are real sun traps. Parking is excellent with plenty of room for two cars. We hope to be back again soon.

We visited Greenways many years ago so it was nice to return, lots of happy memories! ! The property is immaculate, very clean , cosy and comfortable with lovely views of Wansfell and Todd Crag. With the added bonus of the lovely weather this week we managed many high level walks but it was so nice to return to Greenways later to relax and enjoy the warm sunshine on both the sheltered patios. It was so peaceful and quiet and lovely just to hear the birdsong. Just a few minutes in to the centre of the village it is ideally situated. We would love to return. Thank you.

We had a lovely week at Greenways. Only a five minute walk into Ambleside yet Greenways is so peaceful. We couldnt fault the cottage at all. It was very well equipped ,spotlessly clean and very comfortable.So much attention to detail. Unfortunately we lost our dog in June so he didnt get to enjoy it but I am sure he would have. Its one of the best weve stayed in. We cant wait to come back.

We had a great week in Ambleside. Greenways is a lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped bungalow with parking. It is a short downhill walk into the centre of Ambleside and is well situated for catching local buses.

The bungalow is very comfortable and clean and has everything you need. It is in a lovely quiet location, has great parking and is only a very short walk from the shops in Ambleside. We had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to returning in May 2025.

Greenways is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It has everything that you need to enjoy a fantastic break in Ambleside. The cottage was perfect. It is fully stocked and extremely comfortable. It has two outdoor seating areas, and both are real sun traps if youre lucky enough to get some sun. Easy parking on the drive in front of the cottage and a short stroll into town. We hope to book again next year.

A lovely place that has everything that you need whilst away from home. A short walk from the town, so the location for us was perfect.

We had another lovely stay at Greenways. It is definitely home from home. It is very clean and well equipped. Location is very good and central. The garden is lovely with 2 seating areas but the garden isn't fully secure for our little dog as she jumped over the wall into the next garden. This would not put us off as we kept her on a long lead after that. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely stay.
