Greta Mill Reviews

Very well set up property, ideal for our family group 5 adults &2 dogs. We particularly wanted a place with sufficient bathrooms for our needs this has 5! Very clean & comfortable, lots of space in the kitchendiner for the dog beds & all the clutter that a large group has. We were very satisfied
We have travelled to the Lake District for years and stayed in many different propertys. This property had the best equipped kitchen we've ever had it made a great difference to our stay. The rooms were great and lovely relaxing spaces. Location was wonderful. We would definitely return to this propert.

We really enjoyed our week at Greta Mill. The house is very comfortable and has the best equipped kitchen. As previous guests have mentioned, the location is ideal as its a 5 minute walk into town and Fitz park is just across the river, which is great for a morning dog walk. As a family of 6 we really appreciated the ensuite bedrooms. Also the electric car charger was useful and reasonably priced. It would be lovely if there was a supply of kindling and wood ready to light the wood burner on arrival .
Michelle
Lovely property and was nice and warm all week. All bedrooms are good sized and its a handy location for walking into Keswick.
Heather
Great property. Walking distance from town and you can start numerous walks from the door. The facilities were good for cooking and hanging out. Wed definitely stay again.
Perfect weekend at Greta Mill. Property was spacious and homely, spotlessly clean,a well equipped kitchen and comfy beds all ensuite rooms. Situated in an ideal location approx 510 minutes walk to the town centre with easy access to Fitz Park opposite. We walked from the house to Latrigg and as a cold wet day enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub on return. Parking good with enough space for 3 cars. A welcome pack of goodies was an added bonus thank you! Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay at Greta Mill. The house is lovely and spacious, just right for our family and grandchildren and in the perfect position for the park and town.
Alison
Exactly as described and suited our group very well. A great location for the town and branching out on our walks. Will definitely choose again.
Loved the house it was so well equipped and beautifully decorated. Perfect for our friend group. Only thing missing was hairdryers. The house was in a great location. We tried to book for next May but fully booked.
Rebecca
Greta Mill is in a wonderful location opposite Fitz Park, which was great for walking the dogs, and close to the shops and restaurants. The property was comfortable and decently equipped, although would have liked a hairdryer and a tumble drier. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, even though the weather was not great and would return to Greta Mill.
Returning with family once again, this must be about our 5th visit. Love all the upgrades, it just gets better each time. Great size for a family get together, had everything we needed, although it didnt have a hairdryer this time. Cant wait to go again, hopefully a little less rain next time. It didnt spoil it for us.
Duncan
Great house well located for exploring.
Jeremy
Very comfortable, well equipped with good access to Keswick town and Derwent Water. A great property for extended family holidays.
Greta Mill was a fantastic property, everything was sparkling clean, and very close to Keswick town facilities,a bonus was 2 parking places on site. Would highly recommend.
Anthony
Nice well equipped large home, clean and tidy hot tub was great, nicely decorated for Christmas. Would book again. Need to supply some instructions on how to use the electric car charger, installed the required app but couldnt use it as a guest, would have to set it up as the owner of the charger, so didnt bother. The few public chargers in Keswick are pretty busy at school holiday times.
Kayleigh
Great property very well equipped and comfortable stay in the heart of Keswick ... Great property very well equipped and comfortable stay in the heart of Keswick had a lovely stay with family couldnt fault it Hopefully back next year
Adrian
Fantastic property that is well looked after and perfectly situated for Keswick centre. The local parks are an absolute credit to Keswick. Thank you for an excellent stay.
Charlotte
We loved the property! It had everything you could want. My only constructive criticism would be that the pillows are not great and there was a lot of mismatched crockery, cutlery & glassware. The hot tub was great after a long days walking!
Thalia
A very well equipped and comfortable cottage.
Stefanie
We had a lovely time, the house is in a good position, well equipped and comfortable. We would definitely book again.
We had an amazing time in Keswick, staying at Greta Mill. We were surprised how big the property was. It suited our families needs perfectly and each bedroom having an ensuite was great. We only had one issue with the hot tub turning green and this was dealt with within an hour and no problem after. The lounge was a little cramped with 7 of us watching football on TV but we managed. When we return to Keswick we will definitely be booking Greta Mill again.
Really only space to park 2 cars not three. Only seating for 6 in lounge. Apart from that we really love the property and think it is wonderful. 5 minute walk to Keswick centre. Lovely bedrooms, all ensuite. Superb kitchen with plenty of equipment. I could happily live there for the rest of my life.
Felicity
Greta Mill was fabulous, I can highly recommend it. It was very spacious and beautifully decorated and furnished. Bedrooms were amazing, all being ensuite, and there was plenty of room for all 7 of us in the sitting room and kitchen. Loved the hot tub, which got a lot of use by the kids. And it was a brilliant location, being both an easy walk into the town and opposite the lovely Fitz park with quick and easy access to paths up the fells too. It was clean and very comfortable indeed. A wonderful place to stay in Keswick.
This is a lovely property a short walk from the town centre. The two big downstairs rooms are separate from each other so you get a great sense of space. It is an old property and so although fully modernised is a bit quirky. I was worried about how close it it is to a busy road but that was not a problem and the closeness to the park and the river was perfect.
Heather
Beautiful property. A free minor issues with hot tub and DVD player but quickly resolved. Great sup port and service.
Lovely property in a great location for town, walks and ample parking for 3 cars. Couldn't fault!
Great place to stay. Clean and comfortable. The only thing I would say is that for 8 people there isn't quite enough comfy seating in the lounge area, which could be rectified by moving things around slightly. Other than this would recommend and go again.
Great property located in centre of Keswick. Will look to book again
Great location and very clean and wellmaintained
Good location, though not clear from the advert that it is on a main road. Good sized rooms, though not enough comfy seating in the living room for more than six people. Bath taps did not work properly making it impossible to use. The fixtures and fittings of the accommodation area are dated. Garden area is more of a yard and overlooked.
The cottage is lovely, however needs some attention some of the heated towel rails dont work, one toilet has a small leak, another toilet just keeps running once flushed. Sofas in lounge are not very comfortable to sit in. Hot tub pumps randomly come on during the night and can be heard in the bedrooms. I would definitely stay again, the cottage is in an amazing location it just needs a little bit of attention. We enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful home in a perfect location
Tamsin
Comfortable cottage in central location with much appreciated parking. Well equipped with comfy beds and good showers. Meets all the needs of a walking holiday and hot tub nice to help aching muscles. Could use a bit of maintenance eg bits of peeling wallpaper and poorly fitting curtains.
Denise
Greta Mill was lovely and perfect for us. All the facilities we needed as a group of four couples. Thank you.
Angela
What a beautiful cottage in a perfect location. We got a lovely welcome pack one of the best we ever had and it was so great being so close to Keswick centre . We did have a problem with a toilet and the owner and Sykes sorted it out so promptly. The staff at Sykes are so helpful especially Amy which is why I use this company on a regular basis . We loved the cottage so much we booked again BEFORE we left
The hot tub was not hot. So we could not use it We reported it to Sykes representative in Keswick office She contacted The owner who said we wouldnt come over because he had guests so he asked the lady called Sharon to try and sort it . She couldnt. She also confirmed it was not hot The owner made a visit the next day but did not fix it That was the last we heard from either the owner or Sykes We only went in the tub once . We paid a lot of Money to have a hot tub over Xmas and we never had use of one I believe we are due some money back
Adrian
Greta Mill was clean, warm and well looked after with comfortable furniture and fittings. The space was adequate for eight adults, with enough crockery and cutlery. The spacious dining table was a bonus. The lounge and bedrooms were all comfortable, although the twin room was a bit tight. The showers were good with on tap hot water at all times. The kitchen was well equipped, with enough equipment to enable us to cook meals several times. The location is excellent, we didnt use the cars all week and ample parking on site and free on road parking meant this was easy for all. Great base to explore Keswick and surrounding areas with walking and bus routes on the doorstep. Niggles about the house were too minor to give feedback on, and are about personal preference, none of which spoiled the time we were in the house. In fact, we would book again. Not a complaint, but the owner may like to know that the guttering at the rear of the house above the dining room windows, leaks significantly when raining.
Had a great week in Greta Mill. The house suited our family of 6 adults and one dog, plenty of space, well equipped kitchen and ensuites with all the bedrooms. We enjoyed the hot tub, even in the rain. It was great being able to walk into Keswick for shops, restaurants, theatre and pubs, also walking to Derwentwater and catching the launch to walk along the lake to Grange.
Sophie
This is a brilliant property in an excellent location. So much room for a family of 5 adults. Hot tub was lovely, got colder at times but we did use it a lot. Beds were very comfy. The one at the back of the property could do with an upgrade as its squeaky but overall great. Would stay again.
