Hallfield Hall, Shirland

From start to finish our stay was perfect! The reality more than lived up to the photos and everything was maintained to an excellent standard. It was the perfect setting for my 50th birthday celebrations and making special memories. Thank you!

We are a party of 7 old school friends who meet up once a year to reminisce about the 70s. Hallfield Hall is easily the best venue we have stayed in. Despite the heatwave the house was cool and airy, probably due to the large rooms and high ceilings. The kitchen was the focal point for us, very well appointed and large enough for us all to eat together and make frequent use of the excellent coffee machine thanks to our host Michelle for the complimentary beans. The decoration and furnishings throughout the house are of high quality and the grounds are lovely. We were really impressed that every appliance worked perfectly as did the showers. We all enjoyed our 3 night break which was to celebrate 3 birthdays, one wedding anniversary and the news we had a seventh grandchild on the way. The property and grounds certainly had the wow factor and its amenities didn't disappoint. The 6 grandkids were either playing football on the lawn, in the hot tubs or in the snooker room it was nice to see them off their devices. We had decent weather so enjoyed a couple of BBQs and also the wood fired pizza oven to feed the gang sat around the fire pit. We had a couple of small issues on arrival which Michelle managed to get sorted out without too much fuss. The only niggles were that the BBQ equipment was unusable and needed replacing I always take my own so it wasn't a problem and the dart board needed a light above it. Overall a great stay.

Lovely house and well equipped. Lounge tastefully furnished and very comfortable, billiard room and bar excellent. Kitchen light and airy with quality appliances. we moved the toaster as not to set off the smoke alarm Formal dining room very nicely laid out on arrival. some chairs need attention as joints loose All bedrooms have quality furnishings and are airy and comfortable. We fortunately had a heatwave whilst we were there and we were thoughtfully given the option of a sheet as well as duvets bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels. The house is decorated with taste throughout. The grounds are extensive and well maintained, the patio has plenty of seating and tables some cushions need replacing though Two excellent hot tubs for use if required. The main patio is large with the original paving slabs so be aware in places they are uneven and sunken so can be a hazard for the less able or children. Overall an exceptional property for a large party. The owner Michelle was very personable when I contacted her and very helpful.

The photographs do not show the house as it really is. It is so beautiful, and much larger than expected. The attention to detail was amazing. as for the gardens, wow! This all made for an extremely relaxing weekend with all the family, celebrating my 80th birthday. We didnt want to leave

We had the best time at Hallfield hall. Everything has been carefully thought out to ensure your stay is relaxing and memorable. The grounds are immaculate. It was the perfect place to catch up with friends. It is also not too far of a drive to local towns if you want a day out. Highly recommend and would definitely book again.

The house was absolutely beautiful. The only criticism I have is that there was quite a few loose paving slabs outside. They need to be repaired as can be dangerous. The WiFi was really bad, was unable to use the cinema room. The snooker table was to big and impossible to play. I would suggest a smaller pool table and maybe a ping pong table. Also Sykes cottages description is incorrect, regarding the ensuites. Only 3 bedrooms have an ensuite and there is 2 very small communal shower rooms. However, overall the house and the 2 jacuzzis are stunning and the garden and grounds are beautiful. Will definitely return

Booked for my wifes 70th Birthday, great to get all the kids and grandkids together in such beautiful surroundings. The games room was an absolute hit with everyone. The house and grounds are immaculate and kept very well. Plenty places to visit around and about and supermarketsshops only 10 mins away by car. We invited extended family for a buffet on the birthday day and all where blown away by the house Michelle was on hand on the phone every time we needed any help Could not fault anything and would highly recommend

The accommodation is outstanding.

First impressions are fantastic. Lovely space and the grounds are extensive. A couple of pointers for the future,there is no cheese grater and no where to hang your coat or put your shoes down stairs. Before the holiday I tried to contact the owner via email and text, no reply. Eventually called on the phone. We tried to call the owner twice whilst away, on the second occasion to report a leak in the billiard room ceiling. No reply to phone or text. Overall the property was enjoyed by everyone. We wanted to book for a birthday next year but it is already booked up. Perhaps this explains why the owner is a little lax on customer service

We've been booking large houses for our mixed age group for the last 15 years, and this is by far the best we've ever stayed in. Wow factor from the moment we pulled up on the drive! We loved the games room, the space, the beautiful furnishings, the hot tub and the modern kitchen. The location was a great base for exploring the wonderful walks of the peak district. Thank you to Michelle for being such a fabulous, responsive host, and to the cleaning team who really left the place immaculate after what must have been a fairly quick turnaround.

We had a great time here for our annual get together. Five couples. The rooms are huge but still lovely and warm, even on a wet windy weekend. Despite it's age the house is quiet, no creaky floorboards. The beds are really comfortable and the showers are great. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. If the weather had been better we could have played games on the lawn and soaked in the two hot tubs instead we enjoyed the snooker room, cocktail bar and cinema and games room. Perfect place for a group or family weekend. Not far from the peak District but there are also public footpaths into the countryside almost from the door.

Hallfield Hall was a spectacular venue for our family get together. Every room was beautifully decorated, well equipped and comfortable. The children enjoyed the cinema and games room. We all had fun playing snooker and in the hot tubs. Fantastic views from the terrace too. A really special place. Michelle was a great host. She was promptly in touch before our visit and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. Thanks Michelle!

We had the most incredible time at Hallfield Hall it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the house and its surroundings. Every detail, from the decor to the grounds, was immaculate and full of character. It felt luxurious, warm, and welcoming all at once. Michelle was an absolute pleasure to communicate with kind, helpful, and genuinely passionate about making sure her guests have the best experience. You can feel the care and love thats gone into creating such a special place.

A Perfect Stay for Our Large Family of 14 Exceeded Every Expectation! ! We were a lively crew of 145 adults and 9 teenagersand this beautiful home couldnt have been more perfect for us. From the moment we stepped through the grand front door, we were awestruck. The house is absolutely stunningtruly memorable. Every room was absolutely spotless. Michelles attention to detail shone through, from roomy layouts to thoughtful touches throughout. The generous room sizes were perfect for sharing among our big group. The enormous games roomwith its games, great speakers, and space to chillquickly became the teenagers favourite hangout. Meanwhile, the hot tub offered the adults a perfect spot for relaxation and catchups. The kitchen was fabulously practicalample space for us to stock up on food and prepare meals with ease. The welcome basket was a lovely thoughtful gesture that set a warm tone for our stay. Exploring the beautifully maintained gardens was a peaceful delight, even when intermittent rain arrived the day before departing, we made the most of the house and its amenities even managed to use the hot tubs. The property was easy to locate, and ordering food deliveries was super straightforward. Meeting Michelle in person added a genuine, welcoming touchwe felt truly looked after. Although we booked just two nights, we didnt want to leave. The experience was so incredible that weve already begun planning our 2026 return. This house didnt just meet our expectationsit far surpassed them. A flawless getaway for families big and small.

This place is incredible. We had the most amazing stay at this house over the weekend. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place was something special. Every room was beautifully decorated with real attention to detail stylish, spacious, and immaculately kept. The dcor throughout the house gave it a luxury feel while still being incredibly comfortable and homely. The hot tubs were a definite highlight, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the incredible views from outside the house, which were absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. The house was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need for a weekend getaway. From kitchen essentials to thoughtful extras, it made the whole experience completely seamless. We also loved the games room, a brilliant touch that kept everyone entertained. Whether we were playing pool or just hanging out, it really added to the fun. All in all, a perfect weekend. Were already planning our next trip back, well definitely be booking again.

What a beautiful place. A family gathering of 9 adults 2 teenagers and 3 children. Could not have asked for anything better. Beautiful building and magnificent gardens. Outdoor seating area, views, amenities were all 5. Attention to detail was second to none. 2 jacuzzi, Snooker room, stunning large lounge, games room and cinema room. All the bedrooms were large, comfortable beds and luxuriously decorated. Kitchen very well equipped. Could not fault Hallfield Hall at all. Would definitely recommend and would certainly go back there.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Hallfield Hall. The house was incredible and so well equipped, we just needed longer to enjoy it all! Everything was immaculate and very well equipped and the grounds were also incredibly well kept. We will definitely be looking to go back. Michelle was a great host too and always responsive and very helpful.

What an amazing place, as soon as we pulled up to this beautiful hall we knew we were going to have the best holiday. Everything about the hall, gardens and service from Michelle was immaculate. The attention to detail in every aspect of the property and garden was mind blowing, we really did feel like Lords and Lady's of the Manor. We can't recommend Hallfield Hall and Michelle enough. Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle, checking with us during our stay that we were happy with everything. We are booking our next trip here already

The house was amazing beautifully decorated, comfortable and well stocked for entertaining all ages groups. We were a group of 6 adults and 6 children and there was plenty of space for everyone. The garden was a delight, the kids were kept busy playing hide and seek! We walked up to the local pub for Sunday lunch which was thoroughly enjoyable too. I'd definitely recommend this for a group getaway.

Wow!! From the moment we drove through the gates, we knew Hallfield Hall was special . What a stunning place. From the grand entrance, to the grounds and everything in between, we were so impressed. Everywhere was immaculate and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We played snooker and darts in the billiards room, watched films in the cinema room, enjoyed a relaxing dip in the hot tub and had afternoon tea in the fantastic grounds. Our teenage children took advantage of the instagrammable aesthetic, and our dog had the best time exploring the vast expanse of gardens which are enclosed. We would highly recommend Hallfield Hall for an unforgettable holiday.
