Hamilton House Reviews

Alistair
Great location, lots of space, comfy rooms, all great thanks!
We were generally happy with the property. The response of the team when there was a plumbing issue was good. The internet speed is exceptionally slow the router is an extension of the shop below. We couldnt download any films. Thankfully we had good weather so werent in the house much, however with a couple of rainy days and a house full, this would be very frustrating. We did email about the WiFi connection had to do it from outside the house, its that slow but received no reply from Lyme Bay holidays, which was disappointing.

Great location, lovely house and nicely furnished we regularly visit Lyme and the location of the house is excellent for all restaurantsshopsbeach. What let it down was the two showers. One suddenly went boiling hot with no notice not great when its a small cubicle with no quick escape! The other had to be turned up to maximum pressure to get mid warm water at which point the pressure was incredibly noisy re the pipework. Needs a plumbers attention. Otherwise I would have given 4 stars.
Rather strange layout with too much open unused space at attic level and no bathroom up there Twin rooms too small. Lounge very small kitchen also Fittings and furnishings not great.slightlu jaded and tatty in places.no decent games Very very expensive for what it eas Good position however . perfect for the town

Lovely property in a superb location close to the town. A lovely welcome pack with beautiful goodies all very welcome. The accommodation was lovely and clean, laid out on 3 floors. Perfect for a family stay. We were a group of 4 ladies and found the stairs a challenge but thats just us.

Beautiful character property central to Lyme.
Hamilton House turned out to be the perfect place for our twoday family stay. It was comfortable, un fussy but also homely, nice bedrooms and bathrooms, lovely living room to congregate in and all in all everything we could possibly need. We were delighted with the lovely bag of local goodies such a welcoming surprise. The only tiny thing I would say is that a bit of salt, pepper and sugar would have been useful but we survived without! One bit of information I couldnt find was what to do with the bedding when we left. We stripped the beds we used and hope we did the right thing in leaving it in a pile on the floors of the rooms. Id like to thank the cleaner who called me to say I had left my medication in the fridge that was a lifesaver.

Great house, very clean and perfect location.

We stayed for a long weekend in May. 2 families with small kids. Amazing location, super close to the beach, pubs and shops. The place is lovely, the 2 double bedrooms and a main bathroom are very spacious. Kitchen & dinning area can get a bit crowded, especially as it's by the main entrance, it can get filled with boots and beach equipment quite fast. But we didn't cook very much as fish & chips on the beach were much better. It is also an old house, so do expect uneven squeaky floors and minding your head when walking through some doorways. Overall nice, well equipped place.
We had a lovely week in Hamilton House. The location is fantastic. It has great sized bedrooms and a very comfortable living room. If I was picking holes, there were a couple of nails sticking up on the kitchen floor but we had no injuries from them. Our only real disappointment was we stupidly left all of our toiletries, electric toothbrush etc in bathroom. After speaking to lyme bay holidays they said they would look for them and they could send them to us for a charge of 15 which we were very happy with and since then we have heard nothing. On the whole it was a very successful holiday
A beautiful property with lots of charm, right in the heart of Lyme Regis. Quirky layout with plenty of space for our family of 5 and two grandparents.
A lovely house with bags of character and in a great location in the old town. Comfortable, clean and close to all amenities. Parking is off site in a nearby car park

Rather lumpy mattress on top floor. Otherwise great what a lovley house.

We had a wonderful time at Hamilton House . The accommodation was really lovely as well as the location . Lyme Regis is a really lovely town too ,we thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
We loved the house but there were a few things that were disappointing. Only one side of the oven was working and some of the lights werent working. One mattress has springs poking out of it. Fortunately we had one spare bed so we used a duvet to cover it so it wasnt too bad. We then read a review that said this back in 2021 so would be good to address this. Some of the pillows need replacing. All that said we loved the house and the location. We did ask if we could stay a little later as to be out by 10 when expected to empty bins, strip beds etc seemed a little unreasonable.
Roberta
Lovely historic building which had been superbly kitted out with everything needed for our stay. Great location a short flat walk to the sea front with lovely restaurants and walks near by. Only downside was that the stairs were a bit tricky for our 85 year old grandparents! Thanks so much for making our time in Lyme Regis so special.
