Hawthorn Cottage, Silpho

We loved our stay at Hawthorn Cottage. It is a beautiful cottage and has been renovated beautifully. We loved the location which made it easy to visit surrounding towns. We also loved the fact that the cottage is on a working farm. Oh and how could we forget the four beautiful dogs who are the most friendly dogs we have met. Loved the whole visit. Would highly recommend. Thanks for a great holiday.

Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful setting. Had a lovely relaxing stay very clean and well equipped. In a good location for exploring and visiting the coast. Just a note it would be useful to be made aware of the access road to the property. We did have a 4x4 but would have struggled if used our other vehicle.

Compact and cosy. A great base for exploring the north Yorkshire coast. Lovely neighbours too.

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous with stunning views. The hot tub was up and running on arrival ready to be enjoyed. Everywhere was clean and tidy and well equipped. The owners who live in the adjoining property were super friendly and their dogs and farm dogs were so well behaved and friendly. Would absolutely love to stay here again in the future! We had the most perfect relaxing honeymoon. Massive thank you to the owners for sharing such a beautiful space.

This cottage ticks all the right boxes, Very peaceful location all be it on a working farm, walking and cycling tracks in every direction in a very quiet area of North Yorkshire. All within stones throw of Dalby,Scarborough and Whitby. A lovely Hot Tub to come back to every day which is very welcoming after a long walk or bike ride!.A good size bathroom and really comfortable bed meant after all the fresh air we slept like logs. Our third visit to the cottages and wont be our last, still more of the local area to explore.

We enjoyed our stay here, it was a beautiful little place. Very peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was undercover and inside which was great. The cottage was very comfortable and I loved that all the beautiful beams were exposed. There were a couple of niggles, the shower had mould patches around the base and we noticed a few cobwebs webs dotted about and there was no useable bowl for the microwave. Easily fixed issues though. We really liked it here and had a very relaxing time.

We had a lovely stay at Hawthorne Cottage this week, fantastic facilities and any questions were answered straight away, hot tub and cottage are maintained and loved the area an animals. We highly recommend.

What an amazing place we live in the city so to be able to get up in the morning to the sound of sheep was just amazing and the views from the cottage was amazing we arrived at the cottage and was very surprised to see that an fresh pint of milk was already in the fridge and the hot tube was just the finished touch

What a wonderful stay! The cottage is gorgeous and so cosy! Everything was very clean and some lovely homely touches too. The hot tub is fantastic and we took full advantage of this! The bed and sofa were lovely and comfy, the towels were so fluffy and soft, the shower was lovely and hot, everything was great and the views from the cottage were beautiful! Great location, very easy to get to Scarborough and we also explored Dalby Forest. Fantastic stay and we will definitely be back!

We went for 5 days and 4 nights if was so peaceful and quiet. Everything was very clean and tidy and a nice distance away from everything would definitely book again.

Overall had a great time but the road in is extremely rough and not suitable for low cars, cottage has a dishwasher but seeing as its only a 2 person cottage its not really necessary but a washing machine would have been better as we were there for 7 nights.

Lovely little cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Everything you need in the kitchen for making meals. It is a working farm so can be quite noisy early in a morning, but that being said we didn't need an alarm for beach days we went during August 25 heatwave so had glorious weather and I was up early enough to read a book at the outside table in the sunshine with a brew before my daughter woke up, so the noise wasn't an issue for us. The view was stunning! We took advantage of the private hottub which was well maintained by the owners and was huge! A morning dip, or a dip in the evening after a long day at the beach with the jets on was fabulous! We also enjoyed a stunning evening meal and a couple if cocktails at a pub called The Plough, which is only 8mins in the car away from the cottage. We would definitely return!

The cottage was good but it was on a working farm and you had people living there and renting other cottage the smell the noice was not great i thought i was getting a cottage on its own private if I new it was a working farm i would have chosen else where

We had a great stay Lovely location very nice area Cottage clean tidy everything you need. Hot tub lovely with a great view. Very good local pubs to eat out. The only issue we had was the shower temperature was either very cold or very hot was hot and miss.

Great holiday with fantastic views of the farm. Sheep and lambs roaming in the fields. Friendly farm dogs and hosts. Property of a high standard, modern mixed with old wooden beams. Very clean and 5 comfortable bed. Slept better here than at home. Loved the hot tub which was a big factor when I booked the property. Would definitely stay again.

Very comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage on a working farm, super quiet and peaceful and a good nights sleep on a really comfortable bed, lots of walking and cycling to be had from the doorstep with the added bonus of returning to a private hot tub to recover from the days activities! Scarborough and the coast is only a few minutes drive away!

I have really enjoyed the stay the only thing Id say is the shower seems to switch from freezing cold to boiling hot

Beautifully located on a working farm surrounded by lush Yorkshire countryside. The cottage was spotless and equipped with everything we needed for a week away. Its not often I return to a place once Ive visited, but will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Excellent property for a short break. Great location for us, well away from the crowds with only the countryside animals for company but close enough for a quick drive to great food pubs and the beach at Scarborough North bay. Didnt use to hot tub as felt a little closed in, would have possibly been better with bifold doors on to open up fully but looked clean and hot. great stay and will consider again.

What an amazing home away from home! Wonderful location for exploring the coastline and bonus coming home to a hot tub every day would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful couple of nights away.

Went to the Cottage march 2025 for a long weekend lovely small cottage kitchen down stairs and bedroom living room an bath room all together up stairs looked nice and clean kitchen was good practically every thing you want shower had all mould in side round the base toilet seat was stained yellow needs a new one and big cobwebs from ceiling up stairs hot tub was secluded but after day 2 we were itching our skin of kept showering but didn't bother going in again my costume got bleech marks on it husband checked the flooting capsule it had 4 tablets in it to many chemicals

We had a wonderful stay at Hawthorn Cottage. The neighbours on the farm were very friendly. The location was amazing. We had lots of lovely walks with Charlie and then back to the cottage to chill out in the hot tub! It was a perfect few days. Thank you!

The cottage, was faultless extremely clean and very inviting. We had a fabulous stay, the location was perfect out the way, but near enough to Scarborough and surrounding villages. The cottage, had everything that we needed kitchen cleaning equipment, pots and pans, plenty of cups and glasses. There was an information pack, that provided information regarding the cottage and things to do.. The bed was extremely comfy and had a 3 brilliant nights sleep. The hot tub, was the icing on the cake. It was hidden in the little barn at the front of the cottage, the views were breathtaking. Would definitely recommend, and visit again.

What a lovely place to stay. It was our honeymoon and stayed for 4 nights. The cottage was so comfy and it's location idyllic. We will be visiting again for our anniversary next year. Highly recommended.

A lovely stay with very friendly people from track quite poor but axeable

Owners so friendly, we enjoyed a quiet stay. Even left us milk and biscuits to have a cuppa. Thank you. Jacuzzi lovely, the only thing would have helped would be somewhere to put our clothes and towels on, apart from coat hooks and maybe a couple of plastic chairs to sit to get dressed. Would book again

The cottage was set in beautiful peaceful countryside , very clean and had everything we needed including a lovely hot tub . Very close to shops and amenities all in all a lovely relaxing break exactly what we needed thankyou .

Perfect cottage on a picturesque farm. Property is beautifully put together for everything you could possibly need for a get away. Amazing views across the fields perfectly positioned if you are looking to escape to the quiet of the countryside. We commuted to Whitby, Robin hoods bay, Scarborough and Filey just to name a few. So is ideal for anyone looking to beach hop. Being able to come home and relax in the hot tub after a long day of exploring just adds to the enjoyment of this beautiful holiday home.
