Keel House Reviews

We had a great time at this property. Having rented other properties in the same complex, we were not disappointed with Keel House. The only minor negatives we had were the shower cubicles cleanliness and the faulty toilet flushes.
Denise
Fantastic house in a great location.
Everything about Keel house was fantastic. From location to cleanliness. Having a coded entry instead of keys was so easy for multiple guests. The small hamper provided was a lovely touch alongside books and games in the property for children and adults alike. I would certainly recommend this as a holiday rental. Whitby on your doorstep

We had an excellent stay at Keel House. A great choice for a multi generational break in Whitby, the house was spacious, well equipped and ideally located. My kids enjoyed the small play area just behind the property and going crabbing over the side at the nearby dock using crabbing nets left in the garage. My parents could easily stroll into the centre of Whitby with the abbey, sea front and beach all within walking distance. We were also close to a couple of supermarkets, a lovely fish and chip shop and bus stops for access to places further afield. The house had great WiFi, plenty of cooking equipment and loads of storage making it feel like a home from home. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Keel House and would definitely recommend!
We had a lovely stay here with extended family. The property is well located and it's a bonus having parking for two cars. The house was well equipped and spacious. Our only problem was the bin which was full when we arrived and not emptied during the week, despite other collections being made. Would definitely stay here again.
Brilliant location and having a charger is ideal for any electric car owners. We stayed here last year and although we had a nice stay this time, sadly some of the gripes are still there the shower on the middle floor is the only one that is really useable due to such low pressure in the other 2 and the toilets are so difficult to flush, not ideal with children. The top floor toilet had a leak which we saw had been reported in the visitors book but hadnt been fixed. Its such a shame as it its otherwise a great property in a fantastic location.

Excellent stay at Keel house, plenty of space for 6 people, everything you need for a relaxing break ,10 15 minutes walk into Whitby, would definitely stay again.

Great property offers everything we needed. Really enjoyed our Christmas break with the grandchildren. Super location A little deep clean under furniture may be needed.
Great location, and facilities, excellent information pack on how to use everything, lovely welcome pack and little extras like soap foil dishwasher tablets washing up liquid. Bonus having a ev charger. Did have a few small issues hall radiator not working made upstairs baking and downstairs freezing, back door difficult to lock, the key to the locked back gate didnt work but these issues would not put us off from returning. 100 recommend keel house and would love to return in the future.
Had a lovely stay at keel house, it it situated in a good area for a nice stroll in to Whitby Home from home.

It was lovely only on thing wrong was the shower couldnt get my disabled daughter in there nothing to grip on to but we managed just had to give her strip wash every morning and night but that was my fault should of mentioned it first but apart from that from that we enjoyed are stay thank you
A lovely house in an excellent location to explore Whitby. Within easy walking distance of the town. The house was clean and well equipped, and suited our needs very well. The local fish and chip shop is very good. We would happily return to this property.
Lovely light, comfortable and spacious accommodation for us 5 adults and a teenage boy with everything we required for our 5 day stay. I just might have liked a few fold up chairs loungers to put up in the back yard. The kitchen sink could also do with fixing as it was fairly unstable but otherwise a very pleasant holiday house. Thank you.
Overall the house was very nice in a great location. However, the bathrooms are in desperate need of an overhaul as it was almost impossible to flush all the toilets as they had been poorly fitted, the shower screen in the main bathroom was difficult to manoeuvre and very clunky and we were unable to have a shower I the upstairs ensuite as the water never got hot despite turning on in advance.

Lovely big house parking a massive bonus and we got 2 cars on the drive. Great Smart TV which comes in handy after being out all day walking. Immaculately clean, a lovely welcome pack thank you and great kitchen for cooking and dining. Only minor thing was the patio at the back was very green and needed a cleanjet wash.

Truly fabulous property that lived up to all expectations. Location excellent and all facilities exceeded what we were expecting. Thank you for a wonderful stay
Absolutely lovely place, with everything we needed for our stay, we would definitely book again.
Couldnt fault the house we stayed at only a 1520 minute Walk to Whitby town, I should mention that my wife uses a wheel chair and I am 72 and found the walk acceptable and a pleasurable and managed the stairs to the first floor kitchen and living room but sometimes with the help of our Daughter, soninlaw and grandsons just something to think about but we found it well worth it. If we get the chance to go to Whitby again this house would be the first place we consider using again health permitting.

House was lovely and in a very good location. Could have been a bit cleaner bed linen and cupboards. Could also have done with more wasterecycling facilities indoors.
Jacqueline
Fabulous 3 story home and everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Loved the welcome bag of Yorkshire goodies thank you and a pint of milk in the fridge. Great to be able to park on the drive with space for 2 cars and visitor spaces across the road. We enjoyed lovely walks around Whitby and along the river and over the viaduct along the cinder track. Local fish and chip shop near by which was nice. Lovely to sit on the terrace of the fleece pub in the sunshine and The Whitby brewery next to the Abbey. We also ventured out to Scarborough, Pickering and Malton. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and book again.

Lovely well equipped house. Great touch to find tea, coffee and milk. Would definitely book again thank you
A fabulous place to stay with everything you need, tastefully decorated and a well appointed kitchen. A great bonus of having the garage space downstairs for wet gear and separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Plenty of hot water & heating, showers were excellent. Wifi network is different as stated, so guest information pack should be updated accordingly. Dedicated parking outside for two cars and visitor spaces opposite. About 15 minutes walk into town and near to an excellent chipshop Riverside Fisheries and the Middle Earth tavern. Overall an excellent holiday, would totally recommend this venue as a place to stay. We are returning Sykes customers, and can not fault their service, finally the Welcome Pack was a lovely touch much appreciated by the guests!

Lovely accommodation, major issue after the first night, Boiler exploded, leaving us with no heating or running hot water, however as Sykes couldnt find us any alternative accommodation within a 20 mile radius, we stayed and bought some electric fan heaters, the property had two electric showers so that wasnt an issue, but no running water or central heating, very disappointing, we was offered a 10 good will gesture, no sky or apps, but free view, issue with WiFi also

Lovely few days MonFri at Keel House. Good location. Added bonus of parking. Visitorextra parking opposite. Ample crockery, glasses etc., even a coffee machine. All clean & tidy. Furnishings good quality. Just a couple of minor things that we found, no terrestrial channels on the TV had fun trying to sort it out! missed Freeview, but that could just be us and left roller blind in kitchen needs cord reattaching to wheel, therefore doesnt pull up or down when we came to close it. All in all an excellent place to stay and the added bonus of a lovely welcome goody bag with local products went down a treat. Would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at Keel House and our 3 grandchildren enjoyed playing in the play area at the back of the house. We walked into the town and left our cars in the parking places for the whole time which was very useful as on a hot weekend Whitby is very busy and there isnt a lot of parking. Beds very comfortable. We would definitely book again if we were going to Whitby. Thanks for the lovely goodie bag too!
Brenda
House was lovely and a perfect location for everything. Everything you require for your stay. The only thing that is a negative is the patio area could do with cleaning and furniture updating, garden gate was very difficult to open.
Stephen
Property was nice quite a walk into centre the only fault was it was not very clean dirty mugs showers had dust and dirt on the edges floors creaked and woke people up . I have used Sykes a lot and this is the first time Ive had to complain
Can not fault this property at all! Great location, 1015 min walk from the centre with parking for 2 cars. Modern, spacious and clean.
Lovely clean and welcoming house, very comfortable and great location with short walk with no bills into town. Lovely local pub nearby to give a welcome break for walk into town. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you very much. Just left a couple of very minor maintenance points for owners to pick up on for future guests in visitor book. Thank you for a lovely break in Whitby
Our stay at Keel House was very enjoyable. We live in a bungalow, so a property with 3 floors seemed a bit daunting at first.. On arrival, the house was clean and warm. Sykes Cottages informed us of all the procedures, so we had no problems. There's lots of cutlery and crockery, pans etc. A goody bag on arrival was a nice surprise. It is about a 1015 minute walk into the town, so that was helpful. As we now have an electric car, the electric charging point at the property is a must. The weather was quite good, so all in all, we had a delightful break.
A lovely house with beautiful carpets on the stairs and in the bedrooms. Well equipped. Had read my new book from home and was going to exchange with a book in Keel House ,but was stamped inside not to remove so had to go and buy another as would not have time to finish it. Think most people would prefer to exchange books. The sculpture trail picture in the hallway was also a interesting touch
If you book this you will not be dissapointed. .clean..bright and very warm and modern
Fantastic time in Whitby.
Lovely property, ideal for walking into Whitby. The blinds & lamps in the downstairs bedroom were dusty though maybe a little more attention to the cleaning of these everywhere else was perfect though. Some tongs in the kitchen utensils would have been handy also. Otherwise a lovely property and would use it again.
