Kirkland Howe Cottage Reviews

Cottage is immaculate and in a lovely location. Warm welcome from Daisy and Jack made settling in a breeze. Weather was on and off during our week, but this provided the ideal base to explore the Lake District.
Excellent house warm and spacious It would have benefited from a better drying area but the hot tub was great
Kirkland Howe is by far the best place we've stayed in the Lake District. The cottage sits on the end of a rural farmhouse in an elevated position overlooking its own valley and waterfalls with an outside terrace and a very lively undercover hot tub.The large kitchen and dining area where we spent all our time has underfloor heating,a large smart tv and all the mod cons including a Nespresso coffee maker. There is a cosy adjacent lounge with Gas open effect fire and two bedrooms upstairs with electric wall heaters plus a bathroom with bath and shower. The other benefit for us was the location on the west coast near Wasdale,Ennerdale and Eskdale.Dog friendly with no parking issues and very peaceful. There was a nice welcome back with some treats as well which was a lovely touch. The cottage is maintained to a high standard and squeaky clean. The owners have done a brilliant job and we can't wait to return!

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for our short break as a small family. The hot tub was great to relax in after spending days out exploring the local area. Daisy and Jack ensured we were well looked after and had seemed to stock the cottage with everything we needed.

What a fantastic weekend we had! Greeted with a little welcome pack containing biscuits and a bottle which was a very nice touch. Briefly chatted with Daisy and she was lovely! The cottage is lovely and clean, perfect for what we were looking for. The views are amazing, especially when we walked through the private valley it was a frosty morning with beaming sunlight, glorious! Nothing better than jumping in the hot tub when it is freezing outside! We have struggled with finding something to suggest to enhance our stay however, a fire guard would be very beneficial, especially with a little one who loves to look and shout at the fire! In addition, potentially filling the pot holes in on the drive in to the property, i feel a smaller car may have issues with the changes in level. We will definitely be back, absolutely loved our stay.
A beautiful, private cottage in the heart of the countryside. Nothing but cows to be seen for miles. There was lots of information provided by the owners and, when we reached out for some assistance on the first night, had really prompt responses and help. The area is beautiful. Our highlight was a trip to St Bees.
