Newton West Farm Reviews

Lovely house with plenty of room for people to sit in the lounge and dining room. We were a family of 12 with 5 dogs and we all loved it. The kitchen is so well equipped with plenty of cutlery, crockery and pans etc. we had an early Christmas day lunch. The beds are really comfortable and having three bathrooms is a bonus. The kids loved the hot tub and thank you to the host who put Christmas trees and decorations up and made the house look even more homely. Highly recommended.
Great stay for larger groups on a budget
A great property for large family of 13 people, plenty of space , great to all fit around the dining table, nice garden and good to have the hot tub and jukebox. After reading previous reviews we had some concerns but spoke to the owner who was very helpful and answered all our queries. At times it was crowded in the kitchen which is small for the number of people and it would be a huge bonus to have a second fridge in the utility room rather than a chest freezer. Good location with access to local beaches within 15 min drive, Haverfordwest and local pubs for eating out. We thoroughly enjoyed our week
The property offers good space for a large crowd. However there are a few things that we really think fall below an acceptable standard 1 the sheet on our bed was so thin and therefore very old and there were 2 HOLES IN IT 2the shower rail in the cubicle came OFF THE WALL when you hand held the shower head 3the carpet in the top bedroom was so worn that there is a big hole in it by the bed. 4 the kitchen surfaces and cupboard handles were so sticky greasy on our arrival that we had to clean them all 5 the fridge is way too small for a big group of people. 6 there is no frying pan and we had to go out and buy one 7 there should be a path to the hot tub.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay during Christmas. The downstairs of the house was decorated with Christmas trees and decorations. We were also given some Christmas crackers, a nice touch. The house was spotless and we very much enjoyed the jukebox listening to some Christmas tunes! It was nice to enjoy a soak in the hot tub too. We had a small issue on Boxing Day and the owners solved it straightaway, which is greatly appreciated, specially on a festive day. The only thing that could be improved is providing either a bigger fridge or an extra fridge in the boiler room this would make a more comfortable way to store food for such a big number of guests. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Duke box was loved and saw was the hot tub. A bigger fridge will help for large families staying. An upgrade to the hot tub area will make the place more special with gazebo or shelter over and lights for when it gets darker in the evenings. Overall our stay was lovely and throughly enjoyed by all.
Michelle
The bedrooms were great but the facilities downstairs were sadly lacking. The hot tub being in full view of the roadway meant that it wasnt used at all and the lack of basic needs wasnt met at all
In many ways the property was excellent but there were a number of irritations and concerns. The key safe was not where we were told that it would be. It was on a fence post thirty metres away and the number to ring for advice was no longer the current caretaker. No new number was available. The kitchen was well equipped but there were no kitchen scissors. It was good to have two high chairs but since small children are likely to wander under the huge dining table for an adventure, it would have been helpful if the underside of that table did not have wood screws projecting down an inch or so. The stairgates were badly fitted and dangerous. It would have been helpful to know that in the field adjacent to the back garden the neighbours practiced car racing of some sort. .It made the garden an unsafe place to be whilst this was happening. There was no dishcloth or dishwasher tablets and the teatowels that were provided appeared to be unlaundered. I would not want to try and iron the enormous tablecloth that was on the dining table but it seemed that nobody else wanted to either. It looked most unsightly. I don't mind whether you publish these comments or not. It is more important to rectify the matters.
Property is stunning. Definitely set up for large group bookings. There were 12 adults and 1 child and we all fitted in comfortably. Amenities were all there. Had a bit of a wait at times for a shower, as only 2 in property. The Hot Tub was so clean and was used more than we expected to use it. Perfect weekend getaway. Oh! And the beds are all super comfy.... I need to purchase a new mattress at home now!
Richard
The cottage was very well equipped with abundant hot water. It was in a great position for visiting a wide range of beaches.
Judith
We all enjoyed our holiday here even with less than perfect weather. We used the hot tub more than I expected and the children absolutely adored it. The juke box was also a hit with all. The house was nice and warm with plenty of hot water. It is a lovely part of the country which we always come back to. Beautiful in the sun and even when it is raining.
Georgina
Amazing property, great facilities, had the extra bonus of accidently having the food shop order delivered the day before and the owner very kindly put the shopping away. Sorry for the inconvenience but thank you so much for the customer service, it was amazing. Would defiantly stay again.
Great location, house had all all the facilities we needed. Just maybe put out some instructions on how to use the Hot tub and jukebox. The house was very nice and warm in Nov. I've been to other locations where they only had the heating on a timer so it didn't really heat the house up at all during winter.
Claire
Lovely stay , lovely place with good sized bedrooms and facilities. Would happily stay again
Lelita
The property was lovely and comfortable. The only issues I can think of is there was no iron and the heating went off before we used the bathroom on the last day. The majority of us had to leave without having a bathshower.
The property is in a wonderful, scenic location and our boys enjoyed playing in the spacious garden. The main concern for us was the fumes that came into the lounge from the adjacent utilityboiler, meaning that we had to keep venting the room and that a couple of our group with asthmabreathing difficulties couldn't sit with us in the lounge. This worsened in windy weather, as if fumes were being blown back in. On a more minor note, the kitchen was a bit cramped for a group of our size or larger, and dishing up meals wasn't all that easy, we couldn't get the juke box to work, and the little splats of paint on the sofas and floors just made the place feel a bit shabby and unloved. This obviously didn't affect our stay in a functional sense, it just made the place feel less homely. Overall a good base for a stay but not somewhere you'd choose to stay in and relax, for the previous reasons.
The property was wonderful, and we all had a great time there. However there were some aspects we feel people should be aware of. In other properties we have stayed in a small amount of milk and tea bags are provided as a welcome pack. There was none when we arrived. The property is a long way away from any shops so unless you take your own teabagscoffee and milk you are hampered. No dishwasher tablets or dishcloth to enable you to wash up until getting to the shops the next day. If both those things were made plain on the property instructions it would be really helpful. There were lots of paint spots on floors, carpets and furniture which made the property look shabbier than it was. Two of the rooms had not been cleaned. There was a lack of property specific information location of fuses, wifi configuration, hot tub instructions etc.. Hope this helps.

Had a lovely group stay. Did have an issue with heating and water but was rectified promptly
Rebecca
We had a lovely stay with friends here. There were some issues on arrival that were shared with the owner that he endeavoured to sort out. Communication was very good. There was a juke box in the dining room which we loved during our stay and there was a good selection of channels on the tv. The wifi was also very good , which was invaluable for the teenagers with us. Unfortunately we didnt find the property very clean , we found empty Nutella packets and a half eaten apple in the dining room , and food down the creases of the sofas. Also one of the small sofas had a broken leg so we were unable to use it. The property was fine but needs a bit of TLC and updating , it felt a bit tired.
The house is perfect for a large family group or friends. The facilities where great, the classic juke box was well used. The locations was just right for what we needed.
Pros the garden space was great, the kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable and the outside seating was lovely. The juke box was a great addition. Cons for the price we paid we expected everything to be in full working condition. Avoid the walk in shower as it pours scorching water on you if anyone turns on any tap in the house, the remote control didnt work even with new batteries, cupboard and drawer handles missing. The property has various steps up and down to rooms, so not particularly disabilitybaby friendly. Very noisy stairs, which is fine, almost atmospheric, if you dont have sleeping babies!
The cottage was lovely and in a very good position for adventures around the surrounding area. I would say that the cottage itself is in need of updating and a few maintenance jobs which if completed would make it home from home. We had a wonderful week with our family.
Great house, well located, very comfortable beds. Shower could be a bit better
A lovely house for a large group in an amazing location. Great if you have dogs and children as lots of areas to run and play in. My only criticism is the living room as was a bit crowded in the evening's and on wet days. There is only 1 tv as well which can cause a few discussions about what to watch as we was a mixed aged group from 7yrs 68yrs!! Apart from that it was a fantastic stay and we would stay again!
