Pen Y Cefn Reviews

Stacey
Stayed with family for Christmas, stayed the previous year too. An absolute fantastic property with plenty of space. The surroundings are beautiful and i will definitely be returning. My only negative is the bedroom at the bottom end of the property can get quite cold and struggle to heat. Other than that I would highly recommend.
As a family of 4 with a dog this could not have been a more perfect place to stay. The house was beautiful, we would move in tomorrow! its location was ideal for us visiting amazing beaches and woodland. Will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful cottage with lots of space, very well equipped. Great addition of an hot tub
Claire
Lovely cottage, plenty of space and a field in the back for the dog to play in. The property was enclosed so the dog couldnt wander off. A very peaceful location. Beds were comfortable, living areas was spacious with lovely large windows, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The shower was a bit snug, but other than that we loved it and that wouldnt put us off booking it again. A great base for exploring the Lyn Peninsula, Anglesey and western side of Snowdonia.

The property was in a a quite place and had plenty off space for our 2 dogs. You need a car to get around. Property it in condition and clean. In one off the bathrooms the shower is very small. The hot tub was really good. We had a great stay best good the host in about 25 mins a way
One of the best cottages weve been to over the years. Modern, clean, comfortable & the addition of the hot tub made the difference. Great comms with the owners. Only couple of niggly things, no washing line for clothes to dry, with horse being a bit small. No curtains in the bedroom meant early wake up for me at 0630 with the sunshine. Also no microwave, or at least one we could find. Takes nothing away from the place though, had an amazing trip exploring parts such as Portmerion & Tremfan Hall. Watching the sunset from the tub made it all worthwhile and helped with the rest & relaxation.

The perfect spot for a two family break. The owners had thought of everything, there was plenty of communal space and the outside area was perfect. The photos dont do it justice! Being able to watch the sun rise over the mountains and set over the beautiful Welsh countryside was a real treat. Lots of helpful communication from the owners. We are already trying to work out when we can come to stay again, couldnt fault it. Thank you so much
Outstanding cottage in a stunning location lovely and peaceful, huge hot tub, log burner, very dog friendly our 2 whippets loved it everything you could want plus an EV charger which was an unexpected bonus! Thanks for a lovely stay.
A beautiful property with everything we needed. Close to all amenities and handy to explore the peninsula.
Great property in an excellent location. We had a fabulous holiday.
Stacey
The cottage was beautiful and well stocked with everything you would need for 8 people. The hot tub was clean and all set up. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The only downsides were the smell of the main bathroom from the drains, the size of the shower in the shower room made it difficult to wash your hair but this wouldnt put me off booking again.
Sharon
Wow where do we start! Superb accommodation with everything you need. Communication with Nicola was outstanding
Lovely cottage, beautiful, great hot tub, fantastic and safe for our two Labradors Zara and Hannah.
We had the most amazing stay at Pen y Cefn! A real home from home! Our 2 dogs loved the outdoor space, and our 7yr old girl absolutely loved the hot tub! The views from the cottage, the peace and tranquility were second to none! We as a family cannot wait to return! A massive thankyou to you, the owners! You really have thought of everything in order to give everyone a memorable stay!
Excellent all round. The cottage is superb. A real home from home. Everything has been thought of and the property is very well equipped. The hot tub is a real plus too. The location is ideal for exploring the coast line as well as being secluded and peaceful. We are already devising a plan to visit again. Thanks for having us.
Great, quiet, secure location, ideally positioned to travel to many tourist attractions. Dogs loved the outdoor space. Bonus having the hot tub. Well equipped spacious kitchen, large dining table and two long sofas which was comfortable for the three of us. Main two bedrooms comfortable with great storage space. The two bathrooms are very small with limited space for turning and movement and would not suit those with mobility problems. Have made some suggestions directly with the owner regarding cleanliness issues and a couple of other things, who has been very responsive to them. Overall it is a lovely rental, needs some improvements here and there and is better suited to a small young family andor 2 couples max because of the bathrooms.
Claire
Couple of cleanliness issues. Cottage in a beautiful scenic area, hot tub definitely a bonus.
Thanks for a wonderful stay. Sheer luxury and so well equipped we loved everything about it. The setting is so peaceful and idyllic and just perfect for a relaxing break. Our sausage dog loved it too and was safe in the gated garden. The property was perfectly accessible too as my parents have mobility issues so they were able to walk around the property and garden easily with no trip hazards. The location is great and we were able to get to all of our favourite places within a short drive. All in all we would highly recommend
Well equipped property with a beautiful location and well done modernisation. Nice welcome pack on arrival. Couple of small issues reported to the owners who welcomed us by email, and by maintaining contact, were able to confirm would be dealt with. One other issue which arose was amicably sorted out by the owners. Well presented property which we may well return to. Thanks to them for renting out a lovely family home which is ideal for family holidays
Has the potential to be a lot better. Pen Y Cefn has the most beautiful, private setting in a lovely part of North Wales but the owner really needs to address the cleaning and maintenance issues. This place was grubby, dusty and needed a deep clean.
Absolutely amazing place , just what we needed unfortunately I would have expected more of a deep clean ! Especially bathrooms . Toilet seats didnt fit and were loose . Floor not clean plus mold around taps etc . Having said all that I will be booking again hoping that the cleaning issues are corrected.
Nicholas
Really lovely property in an ideal location. Couple of things needed some very minor attention. Owners very accommodating thanks for a great stay would definitely return
Alison
Lovely cottage and garden patio area. Bathrooms smaller than expected. Lots of dust eg skirting boards, bed frames, lamp shades and cobwebs needs a more regular deep clean. Bed creaked. Good storage and facilities in kitchen. Walls in need of a refresh. For the price paid would expect it to be spotless.
We had a fantastic few days at Pen Y Cefn. The accommodation is superb. The location was great and the owner was very responsive.
Great property and the location is excellent, quiet and secluded but only a few mins from great places to visit and dine out. We loved it and was perfect for our family gettogetherholiday. Spacious kitchendining and living areas and well equipped, perfect for dining in and for enjoying the evening together, Log burner excellent and really gets the place cosy. We'd happily stay again next time we visit the beautiful Llyn Peninsula
Samuel
Our stay was perfect! The house was amazing, perfect scenic location. Turned up to a welcome basket. Little issue with WIFI but that was no issue for the owner to sort out straight away. She was amazing. Would highly recommend staying here.
Antony
This is a really high quality cottage, well presented and in a stunning location. It had everything we needed and more for a relaxing break. Even the guy who came to check the hottub chemicals said it's the best place he visits! It was our first UK holiday in a long time, and also the first with our young dog who loved the freedom of the garden and we didn't have to worry about her escaping. It was such a nice break, and we were very sad to leave.
The cottage is amazing, has everything you could wish for, lovely welcome pack on arrival too. Very secure for any pets and we all made use of the hot tub. Secluded but close to all attractions.
We had a lovely stay The cottage had everything we needed and we thought the setting was beautiful. The hot tub was a lovely treat at the end of each day. The location was excellent for exploring beaches, castles and Snowdonia. We had one longer trip to Llandudno which was worth the journey. The only thing we felt was missing was hairdryer it could have been that this was mentioned in the pre information and we missed it though. Over all a really lovely stay plenty of space for 8 very comfortable and relaxing holiday all round.
As everyone knows there are does and dont s in every holiday accommodation but to put kitchen worktops in that are so susceptible to tea stains in my view is completely stupid we made cups of tea on BATH TOWELS ! !!!!otherwise had a great time thanks would book again!!!
The house is beautiful and is equipped with everything we could have needed! We had a brilliant time thank you!
Philip
We all enjoyed our stay at this fabulous property. It had everything we wanted, well laid out, equipped and finished to a high standard, and in a perfect setting. We'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a high quality, rural property.
We had the most incredible week in Pen Y Cefn. We arrived to find it beautiful and clean with little supplies dotted round the house to get us started. The hot tub was warm and ready to go and after a few days we needed some support and the contact number was very helpful, they came out at the earliest opportunity to get it back up and running. There wasnt much around us but we loved that it was quiet in the evenings being set back off the main road. It was very spacious inside and had everything we could have asked for, We are already planning our next trip and cant wait to return!
Amazing cottage in a brilliant location hidden away but so close to the amenities you need. I would definitely go back!
