Ranbir House Reviews

The house was fantastic, great setup with the big tv and open living kitchen, loved the table tennis table! Just a few adjustments needed, a new pool table and cues as are outdated and also we had no darts for the dartboard, but we loved the stay and would fully recommend
Claire
Thank you. Ranbir House was just as brilliant for our family and friends group as last year. It had everything we needed for our stay from the spacious accommodation which meant we could spread out and not feel on top of each other whilst also being together, to the peaceful patio and garden we loved the new seating area across the brook looking back at the house and also the hot tub and patio lights where we could all relax and take time out from our busy everyday lives. A particular favourite for our group is the games garage table tennis, pool and darts with much laughter and competitiveness going on and the spacious kitchen and dining area. Whilst we loved staying at the house and visiting the amazing bakery 2 minutes down the road we enjoyed the proximity to such a beautiful area to walk in and visit. Definitely a place we were very happy to return to and I would definitely recommend.
Wonderful stay at this lovely modern spacious property with all the amenities one could want on a holiday. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, great entertainment options for kids and stunning views from the hot tub and patio. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful home for friends catch up. Clean and warming feel. Fab kitchen and communal lounge area. Hottub was a real bonus looking over the lovely country views. Helpful service when we needed advice on local pubs. We will be back! Thanks again
We spent a long weekend here. The house was great, nice and spacious with lots of different areas and a great communal space, It suited us. The hot tub, view of the hill and stream made the outdoor space very enjoyable. Would love to stay here again, thanks!
A great few days at Ranbir House, somewhere we'd definitely stay at again. The property was really spacious, very clean and had pretty much everything we needed. The welcome pack with lots of snacks was much appreciated. It was a bonus to find the pool table and darts board set up in the garage. We had a great couple of meals in the two pubs in Longhope village the Yew Tree Inn and Farmers Boy Inn, as well as some lovely produce from the Forest Bakehouse. The only niggle with the property was a few things not provided that you'd usually expect such as some bin bags and washing liquid for the washing machine.
We had a family weekend break and loved the house. It is very modern, spacious, clean and warm with plenty of parking. Lovely views at the back and the brook running through the garden was lovely even though it was a raging torrent after 24 hours of continuous rain when we arrived! We would definitely return. The owner was very helpful messaging us when we had a small query whilst there. Just a few things we personally would have found useful Instructions on how to adjust the heating we managed but written instructions in the house would be good. I struggled cooking a meal for 7 so the addition of a couple of larger saucepans or large wok would be great. maybe some form of heating like a plug in fan heater could be added to the converted garagegames room to take the chill off in winter months. Would highly recommend the property.
We had a wonderful time at Ranbir House. A great location, easy to find and ample parking. The house itself was even better than the photos. It is spacious, modern, clean, comfortable and warm. Well equipt and the hot tub and games room were a great bonus. The garden view was beautiful and lovely to look at whilst eating meals at the dining table. The information guides on the house and local area were excellent and included everything you could need. We would highly recommend!
Very comfortable house in a great location. Everything you need. Lovely welcome pack. We would definitely recommend the Yew Tree pub for food and its in walking distance. Just a couple of points which we feel would have improved our stay. We thought that the bedding could be upgraded to a better quality. Also an extra lamp in the lounge area would be preferable to having the main ceiling lights on.
We recently stayed at Ranbir House and its absolutely gorgeous. Its very spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. There was a welcome pack which was much appreciated. The kitchen was to die for, its huge and well equipped. There is a two tier patio at the back which was a very peaceful place to relax with the stream and the wonderful views. The hot tub is a bonus and was much appreciated after a long day sightseeing. We would not hesitate in going back to stay here, you wont be disappointed.

Lovely house and great location. Very comfortable and a real home from home. Open plan layout is great too. Overall really happy with stay and would stay again. Amazing pub The Yew Tree Inn is well worth a visit as well as the Bakehouse just down the road. Overall a lovely relaxing stay.

We had a wonderful week at Ranbir House it was so beautifully equipped and comfortable that we felt at home from the first evening. The separate games room and the garage with pool, darts and table tennis, along with the hot tub made it a great place to relax definitely one of the best holiday cottages we've stayed in. The view of the hills is stunning and the stream with the kingfisher is very special although the dog was desperate for a paddle!. Longhope itself is a great base for a holiday a proper community with a little shop, the fabulous bakery and great walks. The location between Gloucester and RossonWye, and on the edge of the Forest of Dean, means there's plenty to do. We can't recommend Ranbir House highly enough

We had a great stay. Just a few suggestions... The bbq was tiny so had to cook majority of the food in the oven as there were 6 of us. There were alot of cobwebs and spiders high up which I noticed because I'm very scared of spiders! Could do with the hoover round the ceilings. The lock on the downstairs loo is tight and two of us got stuck inside. The main bedroom with the ensuite could benefit from some Chester draws. The beds in the twin room are quite small in length so not great for an adult. Would be helpful to have a few dishwasher tablets and some salt in the kitchen. One last thing an extra chair outside as there were only five. I know that seems alot but they are only small things that would improve the property greatly. We loved our stay we had a fantastic family break. Thank you
Amazing property, excellently located with everything needed on your doorstep. The owners have really gone out of their way in every aspect. The outdoor space is amazing, loads of wildlife including kingfishers, deer and ducks with chicks!! If you are considering this area look up Ranbir house, you wont be disappointed.
Ranbir house is a lovely comfortable property with a wonderful garden that is a joy to sit out in. The kitchen is spacious & well equipped making it easy to cater for everyone and plenty of comfy seats at the dining table for everyone. The games room is a great addition and was well used. Lovely friendly pub and bakery in easy walking distance and plenty to do within half hour drive all in all a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you for providing such a fabulous property and facilities for us to meet at and share precious time together, without the worry of who is hosting etc. We truly had a wonderful time and enjoyed your welcome box too, what a treat. We particularly appreciated and commented on ample offroad parking we had 4, amazing table tennis and pool table in the garage space, superb hot tub and outdoor seating with stunning views across the fields and the gentle sound of the brook in the background, spacious communal areas where we could gather, comfortable beds and bedrooms, brilliant 3 toiletbathroom facilities, cleanliness, amazing fridgefreezer. Everything contributed to an unforgettable stay in Longhope and allowed for enjoyment and exploration of the surrounding area too. Some not vital enhancements would be printed instructions for appliances eg. Hot tub and printed leaving instructions to anticipate what was necessary re laundry and bins note on fridge is now out of date etc we did get general Sykes notification so no problem but this was quite close to the end of the stay. Internet searches were possible so no issues. We would have no hesitation in returning to your incredible property. Thank you, we truly appreciated it.

Ranbir House is one of a few petfriendly places that accepts cats. The property is in a quiet village location with a post office, convenience store and highlyrated bakery nearby. Checkin was easy and inside there was a lovely welcome gift of wine, chocolate, snacks, sweets and a note as well as the property information pack. The house is very spacious with an open plan living room, wellequipped large kitchen and dining room that flows nicely. The ample private parking on the driveway was well appreciated. The garden has lovely views of the hills and a stream flowing through it that creates an ambient atmosphere. The bedrooms overlook the countryside and the surrounding hills. The downside was the cleanliness, with quite a bit of dust, hair and crumbs in the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and on towels and sheets, causing us to have to immediately clean up upon arrival before we could settle in. We informed the hosts about this and provided pictures, and they were quite receptive to our concerns and sent a cleaner to the house to address some of the issues. Overall, this would be a great property with good facilities, as long as cleanliness is kept a top priority.
Lovely comfortable property Great location
Thank you for sharing your lovely rental with us for our break away. Great location, stunning views from the back garden and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. Hopefully we will be back soon.

We recently returned from a short break staying at Ranbir House and had a great time. The house was modern, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome note and package was a lovely surprise and the information pack was helpful and well thought out by the owner's. We made use of the hot tub, which after a days walking in the nearby Forest of Dean was a great way to relax. We visited the local pubs and walked to The Yew Tree for dinner one night and the food and service was great. We would recommend Ranbir House as a great place to stay.
Very spacious and comfortable, beautiful location and everything was as hoped. We regularly use Sykes and this is the best house we've stayed in, would highly recommend to anybody, really enjoyable.
We had a wonderful stay at Ranbir House. It is beautiful, modern property and a very relaxing place to stay. The owners have really thought of everything that is needed for a wonderful holiday. We loved everything in the house especially the hot tub and arcade game. There is also so much to do in the surrounding areas. We highly recommend Ranbir House for a fantastic holiday.

A Brilliant Family Getaway at Sykes Cottages' Ranbir House We recently had the pleasure of staying at Ranbir House through Sykes Cottages, and it was nothing short of a brilliant family getaway! The house exceeded our expectations, providing everything we needed for a memorable holiday. The games room was a highlight, especially for our three little boys who couldnt get enough of the arcade machine. The table tennis table was another excellent addition, keeping everyone entertained. And the hot tub? Absolutely magnificent the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. We also loved rediscovering old favorites with the extra board games provided it was such a fantastic touch. The views were simply breathtaking. Enjoying breakfast and dinner while overlooking the rolling hills and watching sheep graze was a serene experience that added to the overall sense of peace and relaxation. The stream running through the garden added an unexpected but muchappreciated layer of wellbeing that we didnt even realize we needed. There was so much to do in the surrounding area that we couldnt fit it all in! We explored Puzzlewood, took on a family bike trail in the Forest of Dean, and visited some great awardwinning pubs. A special mention to Farmer Boys for a delicious meal out, and the Forest Bakery in Longhope was an absolute gem. We even managed to cook a Sunday roast with local produce, and the cottage had everything we needed to make it a success. We were a group of two families, one with five members and one with three, and there was ample space for everyone. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, and met all our needs perfectly. With so much more to explore, were already planning our return. Ranbir House is a fivestar retreat that we would recommend to any family looking for a perfect countryside escape.
Amazing property and friendly hosts! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about booking.
We had a great stay at Ranbir House and found it very well situated and with everything we needed. The house was clean and welcome treats were appreciated. A visit to the Forest Bakehouse is well worth it as well. Thanks
We had such a great time at the property beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you need. Sitting in the hot tub looking out at the gorgeous rolling hills was such a treat! Highly recommend this home away from home! We would love to go back thank you for sharing your gorgeous property with us!
The property is in a lovely location and was ideal for our plans. We found the property lacking in a number of areas for the price and compared to other properties we have previously visited. The property felt unfinished and rushed before our stay. There was a lack of bedroom furniture, one pillow per person on on the bed, poorly fitting curtains just covered the windows in some rooms, the property is advertised for eight people but only had a dining table for six, lack of saucepans only three provided, no tea or coffee pot, the microwave is not secured and nearly fell out, glass in the oven door was not fixed in. Oddly BBQ and garden chairs stored in the kitchen. This will probably be lovely property but needs finishing. We feel we overpaid for the property given the improvements needed
