Scots Pine Reviews

Rosemary
Another lovely week at Scots Pine, which we have visited for a number of years. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped, with easy access into the town centre. It has become like a home from home for us and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Our first time to the Lake District and so pleased we chose Scots Pine. Its location was great to get into Keswick and to visit Derwent Water. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed the treats that were left for us and Millie the dog. A great week was had and even the weather was kind to us. Will certainly be booking again.
Great property with lots of little extras provided amd well stocked which you don't always get elsewhere. There is a little bit of road noise from the Keswick bypass but not intrusive. Would be on our list to return on our next trip to Keswick.
A lovely first stay at Scots Pine. This is the comfiest, cleanest and best equipped cottage we have used in Keswick so will be booking again. Walks curtailed with a mix of weather but accumulated 50 miles. Highlights being Walla Crag to Ashness Bridge, Seatoller to Keswick around the back of the lake. We love the Lakes no matter what the weather. Thank you
Joanne
Scots Pine is a fabulous, well appointed cottage in a great location. We loved our stay there, and will be back!
Everything you need at the cottage, clean and warm. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated with fizz and even a present for Bob the dog. Thanks for a great holiday Kath, Mick and Bob the dog
Our second visit to the cottage and we have already booked for next year. We love the cottage and its location is brilliant.
Scots Pine is a lovely cottage, very well equipped with everything you need for 4 people. The only thing missing was an ice cube tray so we donated one. It would be helpful if some wire fencing could be installed along the outside of the hedge next to the car park as this would make the garden more escape proof for dogs. A map of the footpath into town would also be really helpful. We left a note saying that the TV in the master bedroom only showed BBC 1 despite changing the batteries in the remote. Also the light switch for the spotlights in the master bedroom failed to work intermittently. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in and hope to go back as loved it and Keswick.
We had a wonderful week at Scots pine. The location was perfect especially as we could walk into Keswick for shopping or the start of a walk. The cottage is very well equipped and needs no room for improvement as it is lovely as it is. Due to the location we didnt need to use the cars as much as normal. Would highly recommend.

Another lovely stay at Scots Pine. We think this was our sixth visit and we don't usually stay at the same place twice! However, we are reluctant to tell too many people about it because we may find it is fully booked when we want to come next time!
This was our 2nd stay at Scots Pine last 3 years ago. Lovely property very well equipped, clean and comfortable, spacious, and pleasant out front seating for the sunny warmer days. Great location, peaceful and yet only 1015 mins walk into town centre. Many thanks for the welcome pack. Highly recommended and we will stay again in the near future
A fantastic place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Scots Pine very much, it is a beautiful spacious property in a lovely spot about a 15 minute walk away from the centre of Keswick. The house was supplied with everything you could need and more including a lovely welcome hamper. The furnishings in the house were lovely, we felt the property was even nicer than it looks in the photos! We have stayed in Keswick on many occasions and this has been our favourite property, we would love to return and would recommend to others.

Fabulous location and cottage, everything you need and lovely welcome pack. Thank you, lovely to be back at the cottage.
This was our second visit to this beautiful property and weve had a wonderful week again. Its so comfortable and relaxing that Storm Bert didnt bother us at all! All in all weve done reasonably well with the weather and weve been out walking most days in the area around Derwent Water. Lovely atmosphere in Keswick at this time of year on the run up to Christmas.

Excellent comfortable accommodation, but once again problem with the television. We had this issue last year. No normal tv channels all week despite constantly trying to update. Rang Marie on Saturday, but she was not helpful. Surely in the 21st century there should be a way of obtaining normal tv channels. Lets hope it is fixed for our visit next year!

If there had been an outside tap I'd have given it 11 out of 10! No real storage for our items in the kitchen but as it was massive with lots of counterspace that didn't matter. There were hooks on the back of the bathroom door a rarity, tongs in the utensils drawer another rarity and for the first time ever in many years of holiday cottages, there were bath sheets, not bath towels! The walk to Keswick from the property through the woods was ideal for the dog, especially passing the park on the way, and the way along the old railway was nice. The property was clean, nicely furnished and very cosy. The lack of a garden might have been an issue in summer, but in October it didn't matter, and the gravelled area with the gate allowed to dog to sniff about securely. A lovely property we want to return to in the future.

Second time at Scots Pine. Great location, with short walk into Keswick. Clean and well equipped cottage with very comfy beds!
Jennifer
Wonderful place to stay. Great location for walks & access to lots of well known Lakes locations, great for dogs to stay, comfortable with a fab kitchen & amenities. Smart TVs in all rooms and beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Lovely welcome pack when we arrived really made us feel special thank you.
Beverley
Wonderful cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. Would highly recommend.
Awesome stay again, really good location. We will be coming back. Only 2 gripes. The cleaners hadn't done the log burner nor was there any wood left with it apart from the half burnt logs in the burner. Also the back door has no safety catch or lock on it which with a toddler in the house isn't ideal as they can open the back door. Overall though, beautiful house, locations perfect. We'll probably book it again for the 3rd time.
Fabulous cottagewell equipped, great location, lovely and warm and has everything you could possibly need. My only comment is, as a dog owner, I would not describe the outside area as enclosed although I totally agree it's private and a lovely area.

Stopped in many places in Keswick and one of the best. The cottage is equipped with everything you need, clean, very comfy and great location for Keswick and walking from the cottage. Fantastic holiday thank you One for Sykes you need to let the guest know in the key collection instructions that the front door is self locking.
We had a wonderful week at Scots Pine what a beautiful and interesting property, part of what was once a very grand house. The house is spacious and fitted out to a high standard, clean, warm and with a very relaxed ambience. It's in a great location in a quiet area below Latrigg Fell but just a few minutes walk to the bustling town of Keswick. We were very lucky with the weather and stayed mostly local, walking up Latrigg Fell and Walla Crag and around Derwent Water to Friars Crag and Castle Crag. One small point we managed to lock ourselves out on the night we arrived by mistaking the type of lock on the front door it works like a yale lock mechanism, so when we went out to collect our luggage, we just closed the door behind us and couldn't get back in! Fortunately, after a few panicked phone calls we were able to borrow a master key from the property manager. It might be worth mentioning this detail on the key collection information.

T.v in lounge needed updatingretuning as unable to view BBC channels, especially local news and weather.
The Post code stopped us about 34 mile from the property I. E. before the bridge over brundholme road .it took us half an hour to find Scotts pine and when we did the entrance gate didnt even list Scotts pine as being there ! It was the stables that directed us to the property ,so it was a good job it wasnt dark or raining on arrival . A map showing the area as windybrowe would have helped greatly No other grumbles cottage warm comfy and excellently fitted out .
We had a wonderful stay at Scots Pine which is a beautiful cottage, comfortable, clean and so well equipped. The owners have thought of everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The location is ideal for a stay in Keswick with easy walks nearby. We will certainly stay there again.
Suzanne
Scots Pine is the most fantastic place to stay. It is perfectly situated to enable easy access to Keswick and the surrounding area. It is warm and cosy and the beds really comfortable. The kitchen contains everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. The hot water is plentiful. There are walks from the doorstep. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and would definitely return.
Wonderful cottage, bigger than we expected and very well stocked. Very convenient for town and some great walking right from the doorstep. Extremely comfy beds as well. Would definitely recommend.
Perfect property. We only used the car one day on a seven day trip. Everything is very accessible from the door. Definitely high up on our properties to revisit
Really lovely accommodation exactly as described. Perfect location tucked away but with easy access to town. We will definitely return here as it was like a home from home. Beautiful decor and fully furnished with everything you could need. The welcome basket was a particularly generous touch thank you.
Geoffrey
Some areas of the property appear to be in need of a little more attention to cleanliness. This may be due to a busy season andor lack of time to clean certain areas a bit more thoroughly. Did not spoil our stay by any means and we will be back next year. Just attention to certain details!
Darren
Excellent cottage,Everything you need and more. Would definitely stay again in the future.
Scotts Pine is a delightful property situated in an idyllic location close to Keswick. We absolutely love the property and have stayed here before. We will be back...

This was a super cottage. One of the best we have stayed in. The owners have gone to great lengths to make this a wonderful home from home. Every comfort has been thought of. The kitchen was extremely well equipped.
A lovely cottage which had everything you could wish for and more. It was beautifully decorated and felt very homely and comfortable. The owner was very friendly and answered any questions we had. We had a really fantastic week and didnt want to leave. I would definitely return to Scots Pine.
