Spring Bank Cottage Reviews

Spring Bank Cottage is a super property with plenty of space and a great location. It is well furnished & comfortable, all 7 of our group are already looking forward to returning.
We were a group of six friends staying for a walking weekend. The cottage was perfect for this size group. The dining table seats 6 and there are two sofas and a comfy chair enough for 6 people. Great location, lovely views from rear of property. Parking near the cottage was difficult as the majority of houses on the road were terraced houses with no driveways. Whilst the kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, dishes and glasses there was no cling film or foil and only one dishwasher tablet. The village shop was very limited in supplies so you need to bring all your supplies with you. Good choice of pubs and cafes.

This is a very lovely house and I would be happy to return in the future. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the living rooms are cosy and well lit. The central heating was perfect. We loved the view from the living room across the cricket pitch. It is in a great location for hiking, and the village is beautiful. No complaints!
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home. It was all perfect. Right down to the cricket match we were able to watch from the balcony on our arrival
A great place in the beautiful village of Hayfield. Superb location overlooking the cricket field and just a short walk to the pubs and restaurants. This is the 3rd time weve rented this house and have never been disappointed. We will be back again someday!
Good parking, lovely view over the cricket pitch. It felt like we were staying in someone's house which was lovely,Loved the barbecue and the ability to sit outside.
We had a lovely week at Spring Bank Cottage with extended family. The cottage is well furnished with good living space, modern bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The enclosed garden with views over the cricket pitch gave us outdoor space and some excellent entertainment. The property is over four floors and some of the stairs are very steep so care is needed. The village is very pretty with easy access to rail and road connections as well as giving access to walking trails from the doorstep.

Lovely accommodation overlooking village cricket ground. Well situated for the shops, pubs & restaurants. Walks from the door over stunning scenery, with various levels of difficulty to select from. Only downside is parking can be an issue.

We had a lovely Family Christmas despite the constant foggy conditions that, sadly obscured the view, right up until our last day! !! Some aspects were a bit disappointing the hand rail on the stair between ground and lower ground was loose and we had difficulty operating the lower ground floor TV. It felt as if the house was slowly being upgraded by the owners so that all bathrooms and the top floor were immaculate but the kitchen and other rooms felt a little dated. But, in all, a very good base for a family get together!

It might expectations and we had a lovely family get together My grandson really ... It might expectations and we had a lovely family get together My grandson really enjoyed the Lego It would have been nice if some milk had been left in the fridge as we arrived late
We had a lovely 2 day break at Spring bank cottage. Hayfield is a sweet village with access to many walking routes. The cottage had everything we needed for the weekend. My only feedback would be is that the house could do with an internal repaint. The loft bedroom has 3 skylights. 2 had black out blinds but the one over the bed did not, waking up at sunrise is not ideal in the summer months. I noticed that feedback was mentioned a couple of years ago and i think it should be addressed. Also I personally would prefer bath towels rather than the small hand towels. With those small adjustments the cottage would have been 5 stars.
Very happy with the accommodation. Easy clear instructions for access and using the equipment. Lovely outlook over the cricket field. Easy walk to village and amenities. Excellent location for exploring and walking. We all had a good time.

Spring bank cottage in Hayfield was excellent,we could not have asked for more,we would definitely recommend this property, the local facilities for a small village were excellent. The property was also within easy reach of excellent walks, for all capabilities, highly recommend.
Lovely stay at Springbank, we couldnt have asked for a nicer house. It was great to arrive and find all essentials had been catered for. The balcony was great for watching the cricket. The weather was fantastic which made our long weekend. Would definitely book here again.

The property is extremely well positioned to enjoy all the aspects of the lovely village of Hayfield. We enjoyed watching the cricket from the balcony. For the more energetic, you can do several walks from the door, ranging from testing to easy. We enjoyed our stay and have already booked again for next year.

It would be helpful if check in could be 4 and check out delayed until 11. It was a bit of a rush with children.

Great stay , location was ideal , the property was perfect for our family gathering
Amanda
Great property. Well equipped and very comfortable. The property has good outside sitting areas overlooking the cricket field which was a bonus on match days and the location was good for everything Peak District!
A few items of crockery andcutlery needed rewashing. Parking initially tricky,we misunderstood roadside parking for off road parking.Great location for days out.

A fantastic property in a beautiful location. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we cant wait to book again in the future! Thank you!
We had a lovely week at Spring Bank cottage. Beautiful view from the sitting room and plenty of space for all of us. House was clean and well equipped. Lots of walking available from the door and well placed for visiting further afield. Hayfield was a lovely village and the pub nearby a bonus. We all said we'd love to come back.
Lovely cottage and facilities. One of the few we've visited that is properly equipped in all aspects. Lovely outlook over the cricket field and the village is stunning. So nice to see residents respecting their village's appearance. The cafe, Rosie Lee, just a few doors down was excellent. Lovely people.

Lovely place in a beautiful setting. Tasteful decor and good size. Thanks for organising to access a key when I locked us out!

Our stay at the cottage couldn't have been better. It was more spacious than I expected more like a townhouse disguised as a cottage! Great amenities we even found a colander eventually! including games and lego, and everything we needed for the week. Thank you!
Really lovely place, had a great stay thank you! A lot of space for the kids to explore and play and Hayfield is a lovely village. Will definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful Christmas at Springbank cottage. Its a lovely spacious comfortable cottage with a great homely feel. The beds are very comfortable! Thank you to Christine for all your help making it such a lovely holiday. We would love to come back another time. Great village with friendly pubs and good walks.
Lovely spacious home, everything provided for an enjoyable stay, fab location, couldnt ask for more.
Debbie
Perfectly positioned cottage for walking. A lovely comfortable cottage for 8 people & a dog, very homely & had everything. Lovely touch to leave good quality tea, coffee & biscuits. Just one little thing, you do need one extra blackout blind in the top bedroom over the bed.
Property was very homely. Had everything you needed and had beautiful views from the main sitting room. A real home from home. Plenty of room for the 7 of us that stayed there. Although the stairs between the levels of the house are very steep. So would be mindful of this if anyone with mobility issues or small children are considering stopping here. The only downside was parking outside of the property. It was quite a busy thin street. But we always managed to get our 2 cars parked within walking distance of the property. There were a few lovely pubs and convenience stores within easy walking distance. The property is a good base for lots of lovely walks. The mattresses were very comfortable and would love to know what kind of mattress is on the bed in the top bedroom. As my sister in law would love to purchase one as she has had the best weeks sleep she's ever had. Although don't leave the velux windows open on a night as the church bells ring through the night. Overall a lovely week

The cottage was a perfect size for our staycation. 8 of us had plenty of room to be together in the main living roomdining area, as well as having enough room to spread out when we needed to. It was very clean, warm and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Good location to nearby shops and a lovely view at the rear of the property. We did encounter a problem with the wifi connection but l emailed the owner and her response was quick and apologetic, which was much appreciated. She let us know it was caused by a problem in the area and it was then resolved the next day. I would recommend a stay at the cottage and would definitely stay there again.
Great location. Lovely property. Enjoyed watching the cricket from the terrace.
Sharon
Lovely house well maintained and very clean. Felt like a home from home
An absolutely delightful holiday cottage in the heart of the idyllic village of Hayfield, overlooking the beautiful cricket ground. What's not to like.
Catherine
A lovely house. Comfortable beds, a good amount of space for everyone. Wonderful views from the windows, beautiful walks from the door. Great communication from the owner. We will definitely come again as it was perfect for our needs. I would tell others that the stairs are quite steep and an old dog less able person might struggle. Our 9 year old dog did limit his visits to the basement garden because of this. Also the garden would not have been secure for a more adventurousable dog than ours!
Fabulous location looking out over the cricket pitch and close to the lovely village play area which includes a skate park and pump track, as well as swings and equipment for both toddlers and older children. Our children were small when we first stayed here but still like to join us when we stay even though they are now grown up. Wonderful walking in beautiful and varied scenery. Bridleways for mountain biking too if you're good on rocky tracks! The house has everything you need for a family holiday. Comfy beds, good hot showers, big utility area for sorting wetmuddy gear. Well equipped kitchen for full self catering. Toys, games and books. Good cafes and pubs in walking distance, well stocked village stores but also supermarkets a short drive away.
