About Tethera

With amazing views and walking and cycling routes from the door, this cottage in Braithwaite is a brilliant choice for outdoorsy guests looking to make the most of the North Lake District. The village has a really welcoming feel, with two pubs and a handy convenience shop, so you can easily wander out for a drink or pick up the essentials. Keswick is only 3 miles away and makes a great place to spend an afternoon by the lake, browse the independent shops or hop aboard the Keswick Launch across Derwent Water. Whinlatter Forest, 4.5 miles away, is ideal for getting some fresh air on your mountain bike, while Honister Slate Mine, 11.5 miles away, delivers a more dramatic day out among the fells. For something gentler, Cockermouth (12 miles) is within easy reach for a mooch around its Georgian streets and offers many restaurants; you'll be spoiled for choice! Return to the cottage and take in its elevated position, where you’ll gain some of the best views across the Lake District National Park. Step in through the front door into a practical cloakroom, ideal for jackets and walking boots, before moving through to the well-appointed kitchen. This farmhouse-style space is furnished with everything you need to rustle up family meals, before ascending the stairs to the mezzanine floor to enjoy the dishes from the eight-person dining table. From the kitchen, follow the corridor through the property and into the inviting lounge space, which makes full use of the spectacular views from its many windows. Comfy seating and a Smart TV provide a lovely nook to curl up at the end of any given day. Continue along the corridor to find the bedrooms. Three double bedrooms supply relaxation for sleepy heads. The first bedroom boasts an en-suite shower room with WC and access to the conservatory, while the second has access to a beautiful balcony with sweeping views over the mountains. Lastly, the final bedroom has lovely views and plenty of storage. Find the family bathroom here too, with a bath, shower and WC. Outside, the rear garden begins with a level patio area, a step upwards leads to the lawned garden, which is steep in places, and to a further patio area at the front of the property which has a dining area and fantastic views. As you move higher through the garden, the scenery only get better, rewarding you with an even more impressive outlook over the property and beyond to the stunning beauty of the Lake District National Park.
