The Admiral's Home Reviews

Catherine
16 of us stayed here for a hen weekend. The house is really beautiful, exactly like the pictures. It was comfortable enough for all of us, plenty of room we didn't feel cramed at all. It met our needs perfectly, with suitable amenities. The beds were super comfy.
This is a delightful property in a great location in Whitehaven. There were some trivial maintenance issues that are not unusual in properties of the vintage and they didn't bother us at all. We could have done with a couple of additional sets of keys as there were only two sets and four families, so we had to juggle a bit. Whitehaven is a fascinating place to visit, with amazing history and the Beacon Museum is definitely worth a visit. Would definitely recommend the property and the location
We enjoyed our stay and the house was roomy enough for our group of 6 friends. There were a few missing items, but they were supplied within the day. The failure of the hot tub was a big disappointment it was one of the main reasons we booked this particular house. However, the attempts to fix it were appreciated. The washer was a bit leaky, and it made the Google Nest stop working during the spin cycle maybe another location would be better for the Nest! The kitchen was excellent and wellstocked. The beds were comfy and there were enough bathrooms. Overall, it was a great place to stay while we explored the coast.
We had lovely time staying with big group of family. Lovely house and location.
We had a lovely time with friends from Australia and America. Plenty of space for 14 of us. Nice to have a separate dining room to all be able to sit at the table for dinner. The hot tub was an added bonus. The children loved it and didnt want to leave! Lovely welcome pack was gratefully received. Owner was in contact before visit, would certainly recommend Admirals Home.

The Admirals home was a perfect place for our family. It was very centrally located in Whitehaven which was convenient for accessing the amenities but also close to the Lake District for day trips. We loved walking the dogs locally and further afield and there was lots to entertain kids , teens and older members of the family. The property itself worked well for us as a party of 10. We loved the kitchen with direct access to a safe garden for kidsdogs and the hot tub was a lovely luxury that we very much enjoyed. The hosts were lovely with a very warm welcome and immediately attentive to the couple of small issues we had shortly after arrival. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We did find that there was quite a lot of noise overnight the front of the property is on a main road so there was traffic noise and the seagulls were very noisy at the back, but this was easily rectified by using ear plugs! And although the description of the property mentions lots of stairs, it doesnt make clear that the ground floor bedroom also involves having to climb 67 stairs. This was fine for us, but wouldnt work for anyone with significant mobility issues who expected a ground floor bedroom on the same level as the living space. Likewise, there were 5 toilets across the property only one on the top level which could accommodate 8 people. As a party of 10, this was fine for us, but I would imagine could have been tricky if the house was fully occupied! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you!
Wonderful house, really enjoyed our stay. Only point to mention, those with kids to be aware that baby monitors struggle to reach all the way to the top of the house when youre in the kitchengarden due to the size. By no means a complaint and we worked round it but just to be aware which bedrooms to us for kidstest range first.

Lovely restored house with authentic features Comfortable beds and all facilities and needs were thought of for our weekend stay Owners were very welcoming. Great host and available at all times should you need them.

Admirals Cottage was absolutely perfect for our NYE celebration. The owner was very helpful in advance and also provided a helpful guide to how things worked and also attractionsrestaurants in the area. The house was very well equipped and had plenty of rooms and seating for our amount of guests. We had a total of 17 people 9 of which were children and there was plenty to keep them entertained and lots of places for them to play hide and seek. The house was very clean and when we needed something during our stay Claire was very helpful in dropping it to us. The hot tub was a great addition, not there when we booked but we used it in the morning and at night. We loved our stay and the house helped to create happy memories xx
We had a fantastic stay as a large family group over Christmas at this fab property. The owners couldn't have been more helpful in advance, getting back to us quickly in response to questions and providing a brilliant info pack about the house and surrounding area. The house is really well set up for large groups, with a very well equipped kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, space for socialising and a huge dining table. And the added bonus of the hot tub was an awesome Christmas present! There are lots of lovely little touches to make your stay even better, including a great selection of games, nice toiletries and a lovely welcome pack of goodies. Local shops, pubs and restaurants are all a short walk away. Thanks so much for a lovely stay, we would definitely come back in the future.
Lovely large home wonderfully decorated and really well appointed for a large group. Lots of facilities in kitchen great for cooking large meals. Hot tub a wonderful bonus. One or two small maintenance issues as mentioned toilet seat and also some door handles twisted off so door difficult to shut eg master bedroom. Didnt impact stay though. Overall great stay with helpful attentive hosts. Would recommend.

My time at The Admiral's Home was amazing. A beautiful, newly renovated space that can fit a large family or group of friends! The home is next to a large Morrisons where you can do all the shopping you need, and I also signed up to the local gym for the days I was visiting both within walking distance. I will definitely be coming back to Whitehaven and The Admiral's Home in the near future!

What a fabulous place to stay. The property is stunning and has been beautifully renovated and furnished. Huge amount of attention to detail and everything thought of to provide a luxurious stay. The owners couldnt be more helpful in making sure everything was in place for our staying, answering questions and making sure we had everything we needed. We will be back for sure and would highly recommend anyone to try this place, perfect for family and friend gatherings and celebrations.
Thank you we had a lovely stay. The house was great, accommodating our large group well. The hosts were really helpful and kept in touch with us well. Great space to relax and socialise with family and friends.
