The Brambles, Monmouth

We have been back home after spending a week at the Brambles. It has a great deal going for it including the good sized rooms, equipment and, short walk to the river and town. The Jacuzzi is the absolute star of the property. Unfortunately what does let it down is the horrendous traffic noise especially from the rear of the property. We had issues with insects entering through the double glazed windows via the huge gaps where the seals are. The entire doublee glazing needs renewing as most if not all have these gaps. There were also plants growing from the guttering and green mould on the garden table and chairs. We still had a good time but it certainly does need some TLC.

Brambles was very well situated for central Monmouth. The downside of this was that it was very noisy with traffic both at the front of the property and a busy road at the rear. We probably noticed this as we were there during a heatwave so the windows were open all the time. The accommodation was perfect for 4 adults and 2 children. it was very clean and well equipped and the hot tub was a bonus even with temperatures in the 30s. Monmouth is well placed for exploring this region and Brambles was a good base

As advertised had a good stay all we asked for

Lovely little place with plenty of room and open space . Lidl and town centre a stone throw away for convenience. Very comfortable lovely warm hottub proper relaxation . River wye 2mins walk to beautiful picturess walks along the river small town across the bypass and also you can drive or bus down to the bypass to another beautiful village , ross on wye .few lovely pubs and hotels to eat out ,would definately come again hopefully in the near future .

Lovely house had everything we needed for our perfect girls holiday. Felt so homely was sad we only had the weekend. Lidl is at the end of the road which was handy to pick up supplies. Close for commuting to local attractions. And the house itself was amazing, beds & pillows comfy, shower & bath facilities. Hot tub looked so inviting but we were there for the hottest weekend of the summer so didnt go in, will have to book again.

It is a home from home with the addition of a lovely hot tub, the house is large ,comfortable and clean. The property is very well maintained , fully equipped kitchen , bedding and towels very clean . We had 4 nights there wish it could have been longer , we will be back . X

Lovely cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was great! Monmouth is a lovely town and only a short walk away. Would stay again as it was a good location for visiting family nearby.

We took our mothers for a short break, and visited places they used to go. The Brambles was central to places visited. It was perfect for us as it had enough rooms, just the right amount of stairs for those who find stairs troublesome, and you could, if wanted, stay on the middle floor where the kitchen was as this also had dining table, sofa and tv, and access to the garden which had hot tub, table and chairs, and bbq. The Brambles was fantastic, and the owners keep you up to date with things when need doing.

A new tin opener would be good. The one with a turning handle was seriously past its best. The older type, with a blade to stick into the tin top, for someone with limited strength would be very tricky. No mention of glass recycling on cupboard. A few pot plants in the back yard would soften its austerity.

Absolutely lovely cottage in an equally lovely location. Facilities were amazing and had everything that we needed for a comfortable holiday. Loved the split levels and the power in the shower was really invigorating. The garden was a good size and very secure for our dog. The only gripes we had were that one of the single duvets in the front twin room was quite old and stained only noticed after stripping the beds when we left and the knife rack in the kitchen could really do with a good clean. Apart from this we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

Great place. Will definitely be back in the near future.

We had a fabulous stay. Great location to walk into town or to Symonds Yat if youre feeling adventurous. The property was clean and tidy, easy to locate and the hot tub was ready to use whenever we needed it. My only feedback would be to have some games to play as I read these had been removed but would have been handy in the evenings and some oil, saltpepper available as its generally not something wed consider bringing for a weekend away. Overall though, fabulous stay and no concerns or negatives. Thank you!

The house and location was perfect for our stay and spacious for 5 adults. It was stocked with kitchen basics which is a huge bonus. The hot tub was great and lovely to see it was maintained daily during our stay. The only suggestion I have is to put hooks outside for towels while using the hot tub and a retractable line to use for drying.

Lovely stay! Nice stay for a group of friends or family or both! Beds were super comfortable, heating was easy to control, heated towel rails were great hot tub a bonus. Just one or two basics we feel could be added and we would have given 5 stars Great to have a washing line some pegs would have been fab unless we didnt find them! Some tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper etc just as basic additions in the kitchen as you wouldnt always think of bringing those bits. Potentially a little welcome pack would be great to let people know that you guys are next door, where things are, things to do in the local area, guidelines for check out etc eg stripping beds
