The Haven Reviews

Elizabeth
Lovely, well appointed cottage. Really clean with everything you could need for a great stay in the area. Lovely gifts left for us and the dog, including a pint of milk for that all important first brew !
Amazing property in a perfect location. Great parking facility. Beautifully clean Loved the back garden
Lovely cosy cottage well equipped with everything you needed ,very clean. Very close to beach and Seahouses Outdoor area Very safe for the dogs but not very inviting to sit out. Would recommend and would return ourselves.
Elizabeth
The cottage was spacious , well stocked with all the kitchen items and appliances needed The beds were very comfortable! ! The cottage was within easy walking distance of Seahouses along an old railway track. Useful for dogs. If you want a cheap pint and a bit of local banter call in at the Ex Service Mans club before you reach Seahouses Only slight negative was the shower bathroom which could do with a bit of an upgrade Apart from that a great place in a central location
Lovely place to use as a base we visited seahouses,Alnwick and Beadnell Good fish shop lewis chippy and nice seahouses Chinese. Lovely cosy fire and ideal for walks nearby with dogs.
Gillian
Gorgeous cottage with everything we needed. Home from home and very comfortable and clean. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Xx
Couldnt really fault anything and enjoyed our stay.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at The Haven in North Sunderland. Weve had a fantastic stay in this conveniently located cottage. The cottage itself is only a 10 minute walk into Seahouses and all amenities. It has everything you could need for a great holiday. Theres a spacious lounge with a dining area. We didnt use the fire but I imagine that it would be really cosy on cooler nights. The kitchen is really well equipped and the welcome gifts of shortbread, fudge, tea, coffee and a treat pack for our dog was a lovely surprise. There is a downstairs bathroom and an enclosed area outside which is a little sun trap! Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage. The beds are comfortable. Theres also an upstairs loo. The whole cottage was clean and tastefully furnished. We parked directly outside the cottage all week with no issues. We come to Northumberland each year for a week away. We usually stay a little further out but The Haven has changed our mind. Its such a lovely place and hopefully will become our regular Haven. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Haven. Comfortable, cosy cottage with excellent facilities. It was in an ideal location for a lovely walk down to the beach and the little town of Seahouses. Everywhere we went was very pet friendly which was essential for our little dog, Flo. Would have liked to have had a longer stay so we could have explored the surrounding countryside.
The Haven is a wellappointed, spacious cottage with two good size bedrooms and comfortable beds. The property owner responded promptly to questions by text. The only slight difficulty in high season was that parking on the street outside became a bit competitive.
Had a great week staying at the Haven, it had everything we needed for our stay and was within walking distance approx 1 mile to both Seahouses & the beach. Very dog friendly with a small enclosed gravelled area outside & even a doggy welcome pack

Comfortable, wellequipped cottage located in one of the prime areas of Northumberland. The furnishings are tasteful and high quality as are the bedsbedding. The kitchen lacks nothing! Easy access to Seahouses, Alnwick, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island. Seahouses, with its shops and pubs, is a 10 minute walk away. The dunes and the long sandy beach perfect for dogs are 5 minutes away by car. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. n.b.Be aware that the stairs are steep so not perfect for those with mobility problems.
Beautiful cottage, fabulous location. Comfy beds lovely welcome pack absolutely perfect all round.

Lovely, well equipped cottage in great, quiet location. The bed was soooo comfortable!!! Excellent base for visiting the surrounding area...our dog loved the beaches. The staircase is quite steep, which was mentioned in the description, just please be aware of this. The only downside was the hot water...we gave up in the end and just boiled the kettle to do the washing up. Fortunately the shower was electric. All in all a lovely place to stay.
Owners were good at answering any queries. The location was great also very quiet area so nice and relaxing. Cottage was nice, comfortable and warm. Kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfy. Had a great weeks holiday.
The Haven was a lovely cottage to stay in for our Christmas holiday. We appreciated the festive decorations and extra little treats too. We enjoyed walking on the sandy beaches nearby and visiting historical sites. The local shop was within a ten minute walk and was well stocked.

A well maintained cottage in a quiet area a short walk away from Seahouses. The back yard is fully fenced in which was fantastic for the dog as was the welcome pack you provided for them and us! We found the kitchen well equipped and on street parking wasn't a problem. The log burning stove was broken on arrival glass in the door was smashed and although materials had been left for a fire, this wasn't fixed during our stay so we weren't able to use the stove. As mentioned in previous reviews, the beds are very comfy and although the main bathroom is downstairs, there is a small toilet and sink upstairs for night time visits! Overall we had a fantastic stay and would certainly visit again.
Claire
Lovely cottage with exceptionally comfy beds. Good location with easy walks into Seahouses and onto the beach. Would definitely stay again.
Alexandra
We loved staying in this cosy and spacious cottage. On arrival, we were greeted with a lovely welcome pack and the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. The bedrooms were light and airy and the beds so comfortable. The cottage is situated in the area of North Sunderland which is a comfortable 15 minute walk to the centre. We liked being slightly away from the centre as it was very quiet at night and we had the best sleep! We also liked sitting outside on the bench in the front garden every morning. The kitchen is well equipped and it was nice to have access to an outside space at the back. We would definitely return to The Haven, thank you.
Tracey
A beautifully kept and well equipt cottage. Great base for nearby beaches, walks and sight seeing. Would definately stay again.
Louise
The property was perfect apart from when the drains blacked and spilled out along the path. We had to climb over the wall to get out of the property, owner was more than helpful. Sykes were not helpful at all, didnt call us back when they said they would, left us without a property which the owner sorted themselves. We wont be using Sykes again.
What a lovely cosy cottage. A 15 minute walk to the beach, great little garden, super space. Definitely a home away from home. The welcome touches were absolutely unexpected and so lovely my dog was over the moon with her ball!!
Lovely place

Lovely well equipped cottage in a quiet area of Nort Sunderland even the main road was not as busy as we expected. Cottage had everything we needed for our stay and the welcome pack was a nice touch. Thoroughly enjoyed our break and though the weather was drech once the log fire was set it made it more cosy .
