The Old Doghouse, Sutton-on-the Forest

A little slice of heaven. We had an amazing stay. Perfection location, and beautiful property, and kitted out with everything we needed to ensure our stay was comfortable. Loved the hot tub, perfect after a busy day out and about. I cant believe how close we were to things, yet still felt in the middle of nowhere. We will be doing a return visit, so impressed.

Spent a glorious week at the Dog House! The accommodation is superb with all the facilities you need for a real home from home holiday. The surrounding area is peaceful and great for your walks with your furry friends. Highly recommended!!

What a beautiful cottage, in a lovely setting. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for a break away. A very extensive welcome pack was supplied, which was a lovely touch. A radio in the cottage would have been the icing on the cake. The bedrooms were very comfortable with ample storage space. The local pubs were very welcoming and the food was extremely tasty. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The Dog House was a really lovely property very well appointed, clean and with all the things we needed for our stay. The owner sent us lots of helpful information in advance and was very responsive when we messaged. The property was exactly like the pictures on the website and it was accurate described. Would definitely stay again

Stunning cottage with an excellent host in Claire. The cottage was simply perfect, it had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The grounds were immaculate too! We loved spending time in the hot tub in the evening after a day out with the gorgeous views. The location was perfect for us to travel to York and the East coast. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful cottage. We loved it. Can highly recommend!

The house was amazing. It was comfortable, clean and had everything that you needed. The hosts welcomed us with a very generous welcome pack. Lots of luxurious touches at the house made it feel extra special and the hot tub was great to come back to after a day exploring. The location was so peaceful we came back refreshed and recharged.

Excellent stay property was immaculate and had everything and more that was needed . Surroundings was peaceful and relaxing but only 15 minutes drive to the beautiful city of York .

A lovely, perfectly furnished and equipped cottage. It is set in a peaceful, quiet location ideally situated for exploring the local area. The owners were really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend the property to anyone looking to stay in this part of the country.

Had a brilliant week in 'The Old Dog House'! House was comfortable, super clean & really lovely! No washing machine which was totally an oversight on my part as one wasn't listed, but it would have made it perfect. Would definitely recommend the property however. It was lovely & quiet in beautiful surroundings but close enough with a car to everything you needed & more. A great holiday was had by all!

SUCH A WONDERFUL STAY AT THE OLD DOG HOUSE FOR MY BIRTHDAY WEEK. LOVELY AND CLEAN AND LOVELY OWNERS. GREAT VIEWS FROM THE HOT TUB TO RELAX IN AT THE END OF THE DAY. THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED PLUS A BIT MORE TOO. AS ALWAYS THE BOOKING THROUGH SYKES WAS FAULTLESS. THANK YOU,I ALWAYS SEEM TO FIND THAT SPECIAL PLACE I AM LOOKING FOR WITH SYKES.

Such a beautiful, spacious and peaceful property but still within a short drive of everything you might need. Kept myself, my teenage twins and our little dog happy Would certainly recommend and have rebooked for Easter next year !

The Old Dog House cottage was an absolutely delightful place to make a base and explore Yorkshire. Everything inside is complete to a very high standard, very clean and tidy really good communication with the owner and absolutely going back there at some point. A really wonderful family break and having such a lovely cottage to go back to at the end of each day really was the icing on the cake!

Lovely property with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Claire was very helpful and provided a welcome pack of fooddrinks, which was much appreciated, when we arrived. Hot tub was lovely with fab views of surrounding area, very relaxing. Pizza oven is no longer in use unfortunately but not a huge problem for us. Would recommend to those who are looking for a relaxing getaway.
