The Pheasantry Reviews

The accommodation lacked a bit of tlc, the beds and linens were good however the standard of housekeeping wasnt what I would expect. There was no sweeping brush, the vacuum smelled and the mop was disgusting. The garden was fab but lacked comfortable outdoor seating and there was no shade nor parasol. The dog touches were appreciated however probably need to get the basics right
We had a lovely time for my partners 40th birthday celebrations. He had no idea! It was a lovely touch that the grange team left a card chocolates and also treats for our dogs. We will definitely be back! Thanks again.
Had a splendid week at the Pheasantry. Location is great for visiting the nearby Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs and lots to do further afield. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with the added luxury of a hot tub. The beds were very comfortable.

The perfect holiday home for a family. Very clean, spacious and excellent kitchen facilities. They had everything there that you would need for a break away. Extra games in the lounge. The TV signal was a bit off one evening so we played the games provided instead. The rooms were lovely, very comfortable beds. Great showers and a lovely big bath to have a soak in. The hot tub was a huge hit with our 3 children and spent loads of time in there. Great garden for them to play in. Only a couple of things I would like to mention.... the outside furniture definitely needs replacing, very old and a bit wobbly. Could do with a small shelf in the ensuite shower and a nonslip bath mat for the bathshower in the upstairs main bathroom and a pizza slice but these are very small things that didn't effect our stay at all. If we came up this way again we'd definitely look at rebooking
Needs new table and chairs outside. One of the beds upstairs when separated needs looking at .Need some instructions on jaccuci .
Lovely large clean, comfortable house in a great area for exploring Yorkshire coast and puffin spotting. Nice welcome tray and coffee machine. Few issues with showers which were quickly resolved. Large enclosed garden, outside furniture a bit tatty. Did not use hot tub. Only 4 hangers provided for 3 bedrooms. Would stay again and recommend to others.
Our family greatly enjoyed our stay at the Pheasantry. The large, wellstocked kitchen was a highlight, and the spacious lounge with a dining table provided a comfortable setting for relaxation. We would definitely consider booking this property again in the future. However, we have some suggestions that could enhance the experience and potentially elevate the property to a perfect score 1. Hanging Rails We recommend removing the hanging rails in the rooms, as clothes tend to slip off them easily. 2. Wardrobe Addition It would be beneficial to add a wardrobe, particularly in the downstairs bedroom, for better storage options. 3. Additional Hangers Providing more hangers for clothes would improve guest convenience. Additionally, we found that it can be easy to miss the turn leading to the property. A roadside sign indicating Pheasantry would be a helpful addition. We hope this feedback is received in a constructive manner. My wife and I have traveled extensively this year, staying in various cottages, each with its unique charm. This particular cottage ranks among the top options we've experienced and we believe it would appeal to a wide range of guests. Overall, we would certainly be open to returning in the future.

Lovely stay at The Pheasantry. Highly recommended and would love to return.

Lovely cottages. Hot tub a bonus! Would be nice to have a rotary line on the garden. Also Pyrex dishes for use in the microwave.
Nicola
Very good we also rented the grange next door as it was a large family holiday

We were pleased to have a downstairs bedroom as being disabled we would never have managed the stairs. Not so pleased to have to walk through the kitchen to visit the bathroom especially at night. We found the shower handle almost impossible to turn off as it was so stiff. It would be good to have instructions for the oven as being technically challenged we all found turning on the oven a bit difficult as the symbols only showed for a moment. The heating was also rather temperamental however when we contacted maintenance they sorted any problem straight away Our dogs were well catered for, lots of throws and treats. The cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

The only comment would be, the garden is not small dog friendly, our dog kept escaping through the hedge and gate. It wouldnt take much to rectify this.
Hi, We really enjoyed our stay at the pheasantry. Lovely and cosy and had everything we needed while there. Definitely booking to stay again. Thankyou

The property was in a lovely location, with all amenities provided we enjoyed a well needed break away as a family of 5. However we were rather disappointed with the Hot tub as after 3 days the water smelt like a pond, it was clear the maintenance team had not been to add more chlorine, as on arrival the water smelt clean with chlorine. We did feel the overall cleanliness was okay but could be improved, there are many cobwebs in the lighting. As advised we had to leave the place clean and tidy, on trying to hoover the floor there was no suction from the hoover, this was because it was totally full, it had no been emptied in a long time. We did empty it to leave the place clean, not that we should have needed to. Regrettably due to the above points made I don't think we will be returning.
The cottage on first sight was lovely. However it was not cleaned to good standards. There was no brushes or mood for wood flooring. Overall it was not clean and was off putting. The gate out up to help keep the dogs in was dangerous in the wind and there was numerous gaps in hedges. Garden was not lashed but overgrown and untidy.
Good location for accessing East Coast resorts and exploring East Yorkshire. Easy to walk into Flamborough and shop, P.O. cafes, Fish & chips etc. Good outdoor space and hottub. Kitchen well equipped and comfortable sittingdining room. Lovely upstairs bedrooms, but less comfort downstairs room bare cold floor, clothes storage & hanging not ideal and could do with a chair. Shame the downstairs shower room couldn't be accessed from the bedroom.

We were a party of 6 adults, including 3 dogs, and we liked the basket of dog towels and treats left for dogs before we arrived. Clean and wellfurnished house. Ideal location for exploring Flamborough and surrounding area. Lots of friendly advice and information before getting to house from Sykes, which was appreciated. We didnt know this area well, but Bempton Cliff Nature Reserve is just stunning, and the beaches around Hummanby are massive and all dog friendly.
Thank you for exceeding our expectations! ! Danielle went out of her way to secure the garden for us which was great for our 3 dogs,
Catherine
The garden needs some work I realise it is winter & its such a shame it isnt secure, it could be so beautiful. The hot tub was lovely with towels supplied which is great. The windows would not open which was concerning in the event of a fire. Really needed coat pegs downstairs nowhere to hang several wet coats after a walk. The house was well equipped lovely box of supplies for the dogs. Comfortable beds. Overall a pleasant stay. Thank you.
