The Retreat Reviews

We stayed 9 nights at the retreat the area was lovely great seanery and quiet location. We had nice relaxing evenings in the hot tub. The cottage was OK but I feel it needs more storage in the downstairs stairs bedroom as there was nowhere to put clothes also a mirror would be nice There was also a shortage of bins one in ea h bedroom would be nice. But we have a nice time and would recommend this property
This is our second visit to stay with Sharon, previously in The View and this time in The Retreat. The Retreat is in absolutely beautiful setting and is very comfy accommodation. Every thing you need for cosy week. A well equipped kitchen and two beautiful bedrooms, also a great shower. The hot tub just outside is the cherry on the cake, with its beautiful view. We will definitely be back for a third visit in the future.

Really enjoyed staying here, the bed is really comfortable also the hot tub is fantastic. Unfortunately for us it rained every day so we couldnt enjoy the outside. Lets hope the weather is better the next time we go. And its so quiet, owls and foxes can be heard at night. Sharon tha owner who greeted us when we arrived a lovely lady. So clean and comfortable

The Retreat was amazing clean warm comfortable and everything you can ask for to get away from the hassle of everyday life this was my first time in the Retreat but not my first time staying here maybe my 4th the family who own it are amazing people and will go above and beyond for you to make sure everything is ok I cant rate this place enough and definitely cant wait to go back. The views, the lodge the feeling of been out in nature and to top it amazing hosts and family to welcome you or leave you alone which ever you want what more could you want
If your looking for a relaxing, comfortable property as a base to explore Cornwall from look no further. Away from main roads and noise but still close enough with a 10 min drive through interesting cornish lanes you never know whats round the corner to various supermarkets in Bodmin. Owners leave you in peace but are on hand if you need anything, perfect for us. Second visit here as previously stayed in The View an adjacent property which was perfect for two. Thank you for another relaxing stay.

What a lovely place to spend a holiday , very friendly and helpful owners. Beautiful location with amazing views. The accommodation is clean , well equiped with washing machine , dishwasher ECT. Very comfortable reclining sofas, comfy beds and personal garden and Jacuzzi. We will book here again.
Sharon was a great host. The place was clean, everything you need is there, just bring food, which morrisons and aldi is just 57 mins drive away. Attractions are close, and if you only want to see local area, cardinham woods is only 5 mins away, where we got the freshly baked scones , was one of the best! And if you want the best freshly baked pasty and sausage roll Bodmin Jail cafe called moor is the best too and its only 9 mins drive, so far its the best accomodation we have been so far the garden is beautiful saw rabbits around, and the view is spectacular! Plan to go back again one day! very peaceful we have unlimited access to our own hot tub, and played badminton in the garden too. Its the best one! I hope the place can be known so more can experience the serenity and the rest we all long for.
This property was ideal, comfortable and clean beautiful countryside view. Ideal as a centre point to travel all around Cornwall. It's a place we will be going back to. The road to it was just a small lane so be careful as there are still idiots that drive to fast for a country road! Would highly recommend this holiday let

It was a lovely cottage,off the beaten track but in a really lovely place to stay. Sharon was so friendly, nothing was to much trouble,would definetly stay again and would highly recommend it. i think sykes should be more careful with the disciption saying it had 2 bathrooms when it has only one bathroom, then a seperate toilet in up stairs bedroom.Beautiful ,gorgeous cottage, very clean and comfortable beds and really comfortable sofas.Perfect.
What a lovely cottage. The hosts ate very welcoming and make you feel right at home. The cottage itself is situated in a lovely and quiet position with excellent views over the countryside especially from the hottub. It is ideally positioned to explore Cornwall with most areas being around an hour away. Will definitely recommend The Retreat to others and will be planning our next stay here soon.
Lovely area, sweet little holiday let. Very attentive hosts. Sadly the hot tub was not working for the entirety of our stay, it did get rectified by the end of our stay but was a bit disappointed not to have it for the whole holiday. Comfortable accommodation, hot tub overlooked by another property which you couldnt tell from the pictures before arrival.

Such a lovely place to stay ! The cottage sits on the edge of the woods with beautiful views of the countryside . The hot tub was amazing and very well maintained. Very peaceful and lovely to watch the little bunnies running around in the morning. Sharon was an amazing host and very welcoming on arrival. The walks in the surrounding woods were perfect for our dog Winston and there is a lovely stream you can walk down to also. The retreat has everything you need and the beds are so comfortable! . Only one thing I could see was missing and that was a potato masher .. I really needed it when cooking, but everything else was perfect . We normally like to travel to different parts of Cornwall and never go somewhere twice, but I would definitely come back to the retreat again. thank you for a great holiday xx
Had a wonderful short break stay at The Retreat. Lovely helpful owners and will certainly stay here or at one of their other cottages close by again.
The retreat was lovely, the beds was comfortable hot tub was big and the views was amazing. Washer and dishwasher was a added bonus if you need anything the owners will get it you and they are loving people I would recommend this place
