The Riblows Reviews

Sandra
We had a wonderful stay here and would happily return. The house was lovely, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and clearly very well cared for. What really stood out were all the thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home rather than just a holiday rental. We arrived to fresh flowers, dressing gowns, bath salts, and a fantastic welcome hamper containing coffee, eggs, cheese, granola, and much more. The kitchen cupboards were also stocked with essentials such as salt, pepper, and a few spices, which is always appreciated when staying somewhere new. The sauna was excellent. Unlike some places, there were no extra charges for wood or fuel. It is electric, easy to use, and took around 40 minutes to reach temperature. You can also choose exactly how hot you want it. The hot tub required a little more planning, taking around three hours to heat up, but after a long walk it was absolutely worth the wait. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating. They provided plenty of recommendations for places to visit and eat, and the house was full of books, maps, and local information. The kitchen equipment, crockery, and furnishings were all high quality, which added to the feeling of luxury throughout the stay. The beds were very comfortable, with supportive mediumfirm mattresses and no lumps or sagging. We slept extremely well. We brought two dogs with us and found plenty of nearby places for quick walks. Of course, the coastal path is also right there if you're looking for something longer and more adventurous. One thing I would highly recommend is asking Jeff for a tour of the farm. We spent about an hour with him and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the calves and learning more about the farm and how it operates. It was something a little different and became one of the highlights of our week. The only thing nobody can control is the Cornish weather. Be prepared for every season in a single day, or even a single hour. We experienced sunshine, wind, and heavy rain within about 20 minutes, so definitely pack layers and a waterproof jacket. I don't often rave about places, but this one deserves it. It was worth every penny and gave us a fantastic week away. Highly recommended.

Excellent holiday house. Lorna and Harvey could not be more helpful. St Just is a bustling little village have a pint in the square and people watch. Make sure to visit the Jackson Foundation gallery whilst staying. Harvey recommended the Jelbert's ice cream shop in Newlyn it's ridiculously good! We look forward to returning.

The Riblows is a lovely place to stay! Plenty of space for three generations of family and three dogs to have a great holiday. Lorna and Harvey are such welcoming hosts, on hand if needed but not obtrusive in any way. We would definitely recommend the Riblows, and are planning a return visit!
Absolutely loved our stay at the Ribblows. The cottage is beautiful and in a stunning location. The welcome hamper and stocked cinema fridge add an extra feel of luxury. The rooms are spacious and with comfortable furnishings throughout. The garden is substantial and was very much appreciated by my 4 legged daughters. Highly recommend.

The cottage is amazing, such a wonderful place to spend time. It is very well equipped and the owners will do everything they can to help make your stay enjoyable. They really couldn't do any more. It's just perfect.

Great property with amazing sea views! We had such a lovely stay at The Riblows the property was spotless and furnished to a very high standard. Our dogs absolutely loved their stay too especially the enclosed garden which they spent hours running around and playing. The welcome hamper was gladly received and the fridge in the cinema room was full too! A special thanks to Lorna and Harvey for making our stay so memorable, we will definitely be back.
Beautiful farm house. Lovely welcome pack. Garden secure for dogs. Sauna very relaxing after a busy day sight seeing. We all had a fabulous time and look forward to returning again soon.
Annette
We had a wonderful stay, our hosts were extremely helpful and responsive to our communication. The accommodation is exactly as the listing, extremely well equipped with everything you need for the perfect break. The area is within easy reach of many tourist spots, the local town is quaint and only a short walk away.
Riblows was a fantastic holiday home to celebrate a milestone birthday with family and friends. 6 adults were very comfortable and loved the big kitchen table, comfortable sofas and big beds. The garden was fully enclosed for our dog and the hot tub and sauna in the garden made it extra special. The house is also in a great location, off the beaten track, but close to the amenities in St Just. We couldn't be happier with our stay and the very friendly owners.

The Riblows is a very special place. Its location is perfect for stunning coastal walks right from the doorstep. Returning to such a comfortable home with the added luxuries of the hot tub and sauna, made for a perfect week. St Just is a 510 minute walk through the fields where you will find a number of lovely cafes, butcher, gift shops etc. Lorna and Harvey are fabulous hosts and provided a lovely selection of artisan foods in their welcome hamper. Couldnt fault our stay. We very much hope to return.
We had a wonderful stay at The Riblows. Its a fabulous house everything is carefully considered from the amenities to furnishings in a magical location. Already planning our return. Harvey and Lorna run a slick operation and are super friendly and attentive. Only improvement would be the addition of 2 sun loungers but thats entirely personal! Really cant fault it. Thank you for a glorious week x

The cottage is absolutely perfect the best we have ever stayed in! ! The hosts were super friendly and helpful ..and very kind. Lots of extras such as fully stiocked drinks fridge in cinema room, wonderful welcome hamper and gifts for our teenagers! The standard of accommodation is very very high beatufully decorated and very clean. The garden was perfect for our english setter and golden retriever wonderful views of the sea..and the cows made it even more perfect for me! I highly recommend the cottage, the hosts and the area!
The property was just as described. All of the facilities were to a very high standard. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Checking in we were all okay and at the end of the phone if we needed anything. The booklet inside gave us so much information from beaches to eating and things to do. If I had to be picky, the only thing would be the cobwebs in corners around the floor. I understand you are on a farm and probably have more than a house in a normal area. This in no way would ever stop me from returning again. This property is outstanding, just like its views!
Deborah
Beautiful stay. Perfect location. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Loved cooking a roast in the amazing kitchen. Had everything you could possibly need. Evenings were spent using the hot tub & sauna, sat round the firepit or, doing a puzzle by the logburner. The bath experience was heavenly. Did a 4 mile circular to cape Cornwall, into the village at St Just great village and back ro the cottage, enjoying a woodfired pizza from the square as well as the pasty's from the butchers. Visted a few beautiful beaches Gwynver dog friendly all year Sennan hired paddleboards, Portcurno great little cafe for lunch and a couple of trips to St Ives like you're in a different world, as well as morming and evening walks with the dog down to the little cove beaches not far from the cottage. On our last morning we visited the haberdashery cafe for breakfast dog friendly. Such a pretty place. My favourite part of the holiday was the amount of art around. Our favourite part of the actual cottage was, not just the location, but the kitchen. It was a dream. And our adult children loved the hot tub and sauna as well as the bedrooms. Nothing to fault. 55 experience. Will definitely be returning.
Lovely cottage, very comfortable, very dog friendly garden beautiful and totally enclosed for dogs. Easy walk into town, which has everything you would need, nice walking from the property too. Would definitely recommend.
Lauren

We had a fantastic time at the Riblows. Its a beautiful and wellequipped cottage. Its also in a great position for exploring the delights of the coastal path. Lorna was very helpful and responsive. Wed definitely go back!
We had the most amazing time staying at The Riblows! Such a beautiful place inside and out and it has everything you need and more for few days stay. Lorna and Harvey were both there to help whenever we needed and were really good hosts. We loved the hot tub and the sauna and Jodie the pony was the highlight of our trip! A perfect stay and we will definitely be back!
Stephen
We stayed over the New Year and had the most amazing week. Lorna was extremely helpful and generous and it appeared that her primary concern was that we had a good week. The cottage and facilities were amazing and there were lots of nice personal touches around which we appreciated. We would have no hesitation at booking another week here. Thank you.
Lovely property for a family get together. Numerous walks from the house. St.Just is an easy walk away with a wide array of shops, a couple of nice pubs and even an art gallery. Riblows was very comfortable and well equipped. The enclosed garden was extensive and well tended. We loved the sauna ! The cinema room was a bonus on rainy days. We would highly recommend the Riblows as a place to stay.
Love the property and the area, hope to revisit again soon. Slight problem with the outside lights but the hosts were really helpful.
Teresa
The most beautiful holiday home. There is not a thing that has been forgotten to make your time here a pleasure. The house is actually better than the pictures show. Lorna and Harvey are the most friendly and kind owners and put themselves out to come along and make sure all was ok. You will not be disappointed if you book to stay here. We will 100 be back.
A beautifully renovated barn, with luxury accessories and furniture through out. Quiet and serene, but homely. Private with hot tub and sauna, sun setting over the sea views from the garden. Beautiful!
Bastian
We had a great stay in a great place with incredible helpfull hosts. Thank you!
Louise

A lovely location which we have stayed at before. The cottage was well equipped comfortable had everything you would need. We loved the sauna and the wood fired hot tub!
We had a lovely relaxing week at the Riblows. The property was as advertised and very spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of extra touches It more than met our expectations. The property is in a beautiful location, minutes away from the coastal path with fantastic views. We watched stunning sunsets without leaving the garden. Would highly recommend the Riblows
Lovely location. Very comfortable with every amenity required for our stay. Highly recommended.
Fabulous house in a beautiful setting! It had everything you could possibly need, and felt like a real home from home. We were welcomed with beautiful flowers and welcome hamper with lots of local produce, which we loved! And Lorna was attentive and checked in when there was an issue with a nearby houses electricity to make sure everything was ok. We didnt use the hot tub given the weather, but absolutely loved the sauna which was really easy to use! Great walks nearby as well as easy access to drive out and explore. We were also really impressed with St Just and made use of the amenities close by, easily walkable. Lovely place to stay and we hope to visit again soon! Thanks again!
Richard
We would certainly recommend The Riblows to friends and will be rebooking in 2025! The property is very comfortable, spacious and just as it appears on the website. I particularly enjoyed being able to warm up in the sauna after a day out on the coastal path. If you like walking, its about 5 mins walk out of the farm to get onto the south west coastal path and seriously good views. We spotted seals throughout the week so dont forget your binoculars. For those travelling with dogs. The garden is enclosed and secure. There isnt any traffic in the farm apart from those livingstaying there and the cottage faces away from the track. Our dog loved the underfloor heating and would find his spot of maximum coziness to flop out when we came back. Probably our most dog friendly cottage to date.
Fantastic cottage in a beautiful part of Cornwall. We would highly recommend
Patrick
This is the loveliest cottage we have ever stayed at for a holiday. The accommodation is beautiful, of a very high standard, warm and cosy. It is located in a wonderful part of Cornwall with fabulous beaches only a short distance away. The owners live near by and provided a very warm welcome and extremely helpful.
Wonderful stay with friends at The Riblows. Perfect, rural setting, yet within walking distance to the nearest village St Just. The cottage was wellequipped and super comfortable, toasty warm in January. Plenty of space for six adults... large kitchen diner, and cooking facilities were ideal. Huge sofas, a cinema room, lovely dog 'room' under the stairs very cute and the sauna and hot tub made for a relaxing weekend. The owners were super helpful and provided a luxury welcome box, which was much appreciated and very generous. Highly recommend!
Antonia
I recently stayed at Riblows Cottage and had a fantastic time. The cottage boasts excellent facilities, and everyone enjoyed them the sauna was my personal favorite. The informative welcome pack and the amazing welcome package, particularly appreciated after a long drive, made the experience even more enjoyable. The area is charming, with convenient walking distance to shops and numerous sightseeing places. I would 100 recommend booking this cottage, and would hope to visit again in the future.
Shirley
The Riblows was fantastic, our second visit and no t our last. We stayed over Christmas truly magical. The Riblows feels like a home and not a holiday let, so many beautiful touches. Top of the range appliances, kettle, coffee machine toaster and food mixer. Welcome packs containing local artisan products. The weather was very windy and wet but that did not stop us from enjoying the great location and walking our dogs. Exceptional place to stay and hosts.
