Tipsy Bee Reviews

We had a great time staying at Tipsy Bee. Short walk into Bowness with plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from. Property is well kept and very comfortable. Parking is for one car but we managed to get another space in the spare residents parking. Would return and recommend to friends
Robert
Back from our third stay at Tipsy Bee and a wonderful time was had again. Great house in a great location to explore, shop eat & drink. Thanks so much to Shelley and Carl for the delivery, it was such a lovely surprise! Will be back again next year although at a different time due to exams!
A Perfect Getaway at Tipsy Bee Cottage Staying at Tipsy Bee Cottage was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by its charm and warmth. The dcor is stunningthoughtfully curated with beautiful touches that make the space feel both stylish and cozy. Every corner invites you to relax and unwind. The cottage itself is incredibly comfortable. The beds are plush, the living spaces are welcoming, and everything is immaculately clean. It truly felt like a home away from home. But what really sets Tipsy Bee Cottage apart is its location. Nestled in the most picturesque setting, its perfectly situated for exploring the area. Whether you're heading out for a scenic walk, visiting local attractions, or just enjoying the peaceful surroundings, you couldnt ask for a better base. We didnt want to leaveand were already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing escape.

Lovely clean, well appointed and beautifully decorated house. Perfect for our needs, would definitely recommend.

We had a fabulous week stay at the Tipsy Bee. Accommodation was very well presented throughout. clean and the beds were comfortable. Location was ideal for us , it was quiet and only a 1520 mins stroll downhill to all the shopsrestaurantsbars and The Lake. Will definitely be recommending and returning in the future. Thank you Gilmore Family of 6 .
Pleasant stay, close to amenities and ideal for sight seeing, central location. We often left the car to walk out into Windemere or Bowness. Very clean property, modern design, home from home. Would recommend A

We stayed for two nights and had a lovely, comfortable stay. The home and furnishings are beautiful and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. There was convenient parking for one car right outside the front door. A kind neighbour also let us know where we could park our second car for free nearby. A short walk to the lakeside and amenities is a bonus too. Overall, a great experiencewed happily stay again! Unfortunately we could not locate an outside bin for number 4 so had to leave the rubbish bagged up inside the property, apologies for this.
Very good accommodation, clean, quiet ,and in a good location. Just one point parking for one car only strict rule .
Claire
The property itself was fantastic, spacious , everything you need really well decorated and great location the owners have done a great job. Parking is a huge issue, only one space super tight so easy to hit your car. No outside space at all which with pets is not good. Biggest problem is management Sykes tried calling twice no answer , WhatsApp still awaiting a response just really poor the owners should consider changing. No bin for number 4 to clean up. Such a shame as the property is super .

This is our second stay at Tipsy Bee and everything was just right again. Great base for exploring Bowness and surrounding Lake District areas. We have already booked for next year again.

Beautiful property ideally situated, decor in particular was fab, spacious living room was great, the only small issue was the lack of storage in the upstairs bedroom and the bathroom light in the same room was a bit hit and miss maybe a loose connection, kept turning off didn't detract from our stay though. Overall very happy with our stay at the Tipsy Bee.

A fabulous property very close to everything in Bowness and a pleasant stroll to Windermere Town. The presentation and comfort of the property was excellent, with comfortable beds and a living room that we felt right at home in from day one. A great TV, with added bonus use of Netflix, Prime etc, and an amazing feature fire which really contributed to the ambience. One niggle was how hot the house was, and it took a few days to realise the thermostat in the living room is not working, its always calling for hea,t and this helps explain some previous reviews about this issue. Its been reported officially now, so hopefully will be repaired? Parking could be tight but, we didn't have neighbours during our stay, so wasn't an issue, and we also utilised a 'guest' parking space for the other car we had. No 'welcome pack', so bring your own essentials, although plenty of shops around. No dressing tables in any of the rooms so not easy for some of our party to get ready in the mornings. All in all a great stay in a well equipped, very clean and cozy place that we will be looking to visit again soon.
Looks very recently renovated really enjoyed the OS map wallpaper. Very comfy especially with the choice of 3 beds 3 bathrooms including 2 showers also a luxury. Well located just a short walk up the hill from Bowness town centre in a quiet residential area would highly recommend Base pizzeria down the road. Parking area room for 1 car which could be tight if both other adjacent properties had already parked up but easy enough street parking 200m round the corner usually if required. Kitchen fairly well equipped note need to bring own essentials e.g. oil salt etc for the most part including dishwasher. Had to turn radiators off in places as the property conserved heat very well and thermostat did not seem to take much notice of being turned down but didn't affect stay really! Would definitely stay again!
Wonderful location, great parking. Interior design well thought out. We love Bowness so spending Christmas there and dining out on Christmas Day for the first time was amazing. Daily trips to the lakes edge to feed the birds was a must.
Fantastic property. So well set up and thought out with some lovely finishing touches. Would highly recommend and are already looking to return at some point.

This is an excellent holiday property in a great location between Windermere and Bowness. The cottage was very well presented and has everything you need for a 'home from home' holiday. Beds were comfortable and the bed linen and towels were all excellent quality. Kitchen is well equipped and 2 of the bedrooms have onsuite bathrooms. Only tip is that we have a medium size SUV and the parking space in front of the property may feel a bit tight for bigger cars or less confident drivers if the 2 next door properties are also occupied. We would definitely return to this property!

This holiday cottage is perfect. The kitchen had everything needed to cater for 6 and lots of lovely extras. The lounge area is particularly special for a group with a circular table and ample comfy seating. Bedrooms are super comfy too and our room had a massive bed for a great nights sleep. Walking out to Bowness and Windemere in the eveningup or down you can find huge range of restaurants. We did bring a car but the local open top bus stops at the end of the road and can take you to Ambleside and Grassmere for 2 single. We have been visiting the lakes since 1990 and this is by far the best accommodation to date. Would love to visit again.
Wonderful Stay at Tispy Bee We recently had the pleasure of staying at the stylish and relaxing Tispy Bee, fantastically located in the heart of the Lake District. Credit to the owners for the wonderful design and amenities that made our stay so comfortable. The cottages decor is both chic and cozy, and we especially appreciated the comfy beds and sofa after all of our walks and climbing! The house is wellequipped with plenty of plates, cups, glasses, and more, ensuring we had everything we needed. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Lakes. Its just a short walk into picturesque Bowness, which boasts some fantastic bars and restaurants. A bit further, Windermere also offers great places to eat and drink. We are an active couple with a four legged friend and enjoyed a lot of great hikes and treks all with a starting point of the Tipsy bee. A walk we would highly recommend is the to Wray Castle you can cross the Ferry for 1.10 down at the marina and is a round trip of 19km. We also summited Scarfel Pike, we drove to the car park in Wasdale it was around an hours drive but a very scenic route and well worth the walk. During our stay, our favorite place to eat was Porto, where we enjoyed a lovely table on their idyllic terrace. For lighter bites during the day, we loved Home Ground in Windermere, which offers great brunch and lunch options you may have to queue, but its worth the wait. Another top find was the gorgeous outdoor terrace at Craig Manor. We enjoyed a cocktail on the newly refurbished terrace, although the kitchen closing at 230 pm was a slight drawback. Overall, our stay at Tispy Bee was simply wonderful, thanks to the thoughtful design and amenities provided by the owners.
We had a great time at TipsyBee the beds were so comfortable. We had a slight problem with the induction hob, being if a certain age, but we managed. The furniture in the lounge was comfortable too. Perhaps a nonslip shower mat would be useful for those more elderly or handicapped.
Delightful property in a great central location.
The property is in a really good location a short stroll from Bowness but far enough away to be quiet. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the upstairs lounge is a lovely space to relax in after a day out. The property was very clean and maintained and had an abundance of plates, glasses, cutlery which you sometimes dont get in rental properties. I would definitely recommend the Tipsy Bee and Sykes to anyone thinking of heading up to Bowness and would stay then again ourselves, it was perfect for our family weekend away.

Absolutely fabulous stay at the Tipsy Bee. The owners have thought of everything and it really is a home from home. The decor is beautiful, beds super comfortable, towelsbedlinen crisp, finished to a very high standard and all modern appliances. We had our 10month baby with us and managed to fit a travel cot in the top floor bedroom. The living room was so cosy and we spent the evenings with the fire on playing board games. The only negative I will comment on is the check in and check out time I do think this should be reconsidered. As a family of 6 travelling 2 hours to the lakes, we wanted to make the most of the days we had there so arrived for 11 and had to wait until 4pm to check in. This meant we had to pay for parking and leave our cars with our bags on show for 5 hours which was not ideal. The same for check out, 10am is very early compared to hotels and many other rentals bnbs I have stayed at. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody wanting to visit the lakes as a group!
Absolutely loved the Tipsy Bee. The decor was unreal. As soon as we stepped foot inside I wanted to contact the owners to say thank you. We were blown away. Loved all the rooms. Had a great stay. The beds were really comfortable and the living room was fab. Had everything we needed. Such a lovely place and a great location. Note to owners The kitchen light was temperamental. Wouldnt always work. Maybe a loose wire? I reported it to Lakelovers so hopefully this is now sorted. This didnt affect our stay
Robert
Just arrived back from a fantastic stay at Tipsy Bee. The accommodation has recently been renovated and was just 100 perfect. It was also in the ideal location for our holiday. Thank you for a wonderful stay we have already booked for next year!
