Weymouth Seaside House Reviews

Joanna
The house has great potential thanks to its size and excellent location near the sea. There is plenty of space, the beds are very comfortable, and the bed linen and towels were clean and fresh, which we really appreciated. However, the property clearly needs renovation and better maintenance. In the kitchen there are visible signs of water damage, which not only looks unpleasant but is also starting to develop mold. All the dishes had to be washed before use as they were not clean. There were also no sharp knives available, apart from a cleaver, which made cooking difficult. In the bathroom and one of the toilets, the windows cannot be properly closed, which is concerning. On a positive note, the lady taking care of the house was absolutely wonderful very kind, warm, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Overall, this place could be amazing with some improvements, but in its current condition it falls short of expectations.
The house is in a really good location, with everything needed within walking distance. The rooms are a good size, and the bedrooms were comfortable. Parking may be more difficult than expected. Although the description mentions roadside parking subject to availability, the surrounding roads require permits. We parked at the Swannery car park, which was around a fiveminute walk away and reasonably convenient. The property description states there is a shower with WC however, the WC is separate and located on the floor below. This meant there was no toilet on the top floor despite three bedrooms being there. The stairs are quite steep, which made nighttime trips to the toilet more challenging, especially for children. The topfloor shower ran cold throughout the stay. The shower, WC, and bathroom areas did not have locks, while the downstairs toilet did. There were nine of us staying, but only six seats were available at the dining table, meaning we couldnt all eat together. There is a breakfast bar for three in the kitchen, although this is separated from the table by a wall. The kitchen could be better equipped. Items such as a tin opener, bottle opener, suitable chopping knives, and baking trays were missing. Despite these points, none of the issues significantly impacted our stay, and we still had a lovely time overall.
This house was as presented by the cottage company. Its a nice bright house very well located for the town and beach, and very close to the train station. It was very clean with lovely bright spaces, clean white linen and comfy beds. The kitchendining area was good for families. We were 4 women who came to swim and use the bars and rsstaurants. For us it worked brilliantly despite pretty bad weather. Big lounge, comfy sofa and giant blanket! When I reported something broken on arrival the owner responded virtually immediately. We had a lovely stay for the weekend in Weymouth. I always book with Sykes and never have any issues so trust this company.
