White House Cottage Reviews

We had a lovely short stay in The White House. Perfect location for exploring the area with an idyllic setting and lovely cottage garden, grounds and walks Very very quiet. Celia, the host, is delightful. She lives next door through the adjoining doors which have bolts there are 2 cats that potter around, so dog owners, be aware. Didn't bother us at all. The cottage itself is quaint a little smaller than the photos lead you to believe but that didn't detract from using it as a base. It was a wet and windy stay so it was a little cold. We had to pop the wall heaters on so take that extra layer, even in the summer, as the heating is always off in the summer months according to the cottages book of info. You'll need slippers and a jumper in the mornings when it's cooler. There is a log fire you can make if you want. Some of the furniture, decoration and fittings are dated but this added to the quaint cottage feel. It's a great place to explore the region.... Everything is within an hour... And it's very reasonably priced!
Lovely host. Very well equipped property. Comfortable beds. Lovely garden and private off road parking. Ideally situated for lots of North Norfolk attractions.
Andrew
Pleasant owner lives next door. Cottage clean and comfortable. Lovely garden enjoyed by our dog. Well stocked logs for the log burner, needed first couple of nights. Good base for exploring North Norfolk. Short drive to supermarkets.
Nice place, lovely garden, lovely owner. would definitely recommend.
The cottage was perfect. My friend and I had a wonderful week exploring the area. Coming home to the cottage at the end of our day was so welcoming, warm and cosy. the wood burner and the french windows looking out on to the garden had to be my favourites. The kitchen was very well equipped, we had everything we needed. The house was a great location for country and coast. Norwich only around 45 ins drive.
The cottage was very comfortable, Celia was a lovely host and the surrounding areas were a treat to explore. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and handy local walks. We had a great stay and would recommend White House Cottage to anyone.
Russell
Perfect for what we needed. Dogs loved it. The area was nice and quiet and not far to get to the beaches. Go to the farm at great snoring for the best eggs we have ever had.
Anthony
Cosy . Lived up to expectations.

We had a very enjoyable stay in the White House. The property is very cosy and well equipped. It is perfect if you have a dog. There are lovely walks nearby. We will definitely come back.
I was given a warm welcome from Celia and we had an interesting chat before I left. My dog and I had a very comfortable week at the cottage. There is an enclosed garden which was one of the reasons that I chose this property. It is very dog friendly. The sitting room is particularly cosy and comfortable. The kitchen has a good range of appliances and plenty of crockery, glasses etc. Celia had kindly left some milk, fresh eggs and biscuits, plus coffee and teabags. The location is lovely, only about 9 miles to Wells . Also close to the very good farm shop at Little Walsingham.

Overall very good, we went in October and heating welcomed. If you cook, might need couple of larger oven trays, fridgefreezer great. No parking problems. Nice enclosed garden.
We had a lovely stay at White House Cottage. So quiet, peaceful and homely and such a great location for the coast but also easy to get in to Norwich. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely week here, Celia the lady who owned the White House, lived next door, so was always on hand if we needed anything. The beds were comfy and the huge garden a delight! Very peaceful stay, we were made to feel very welcome.
Gillian
We really enjoyed our stay in The White Cottage. It was very comfortable and had everything needed for a family of four with two children. There is a good sized garden for children to play in. The position of the cottage is great as there are shops in nearby Fakenham, lots of interesting places to visit within a short distance and a glorious beach in nearby Wells. We had a fabulous holiday and would love to stay there another time.
Lovely cottage, peaceful and quiet, a lovely little village. Celia was a great host. Woul ddefinitely come again
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village, has everything you need and the owner is so lovely and helpful. We will definitely be staying again
Charlotte

We had a lovely stay, Celia was very welcoming, the cottage had a nice cosy living room with log burner, the garden was great for the dogs. The cottage was well equipped and had extras like tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, soap, teatowels, so you dont need to bring it all with you, there was even some biscuits and eggs for us. Thank you for a lovely stay Celia
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at White House Cottage. Great location for exploring North Norfolk. Celia was an amazing host thank you for the eggs.
When we arrived the house was clean, tidy and welcoming. Tea and Coffee, milk and Eggs were left for us by Celia the lovely lady who owns it and lives next door. The south facing garden that was fenced off for us and the dogs was neat and tidy. The bedroom was also south facing and had a lovely view. Chickens greeted us in the morning but as we have chickens it made us feel at home. Kitchen was clean and tidy. Big fridge freezer was good, you have to leave the tap on for a bit till the hot water came through but it was hot. I made use of the washing machine but couldn't find any washing powder so bought some Bold and left some in the drawer of the machine ready for the next occupants. TV was good but couldn't find the Radio channels but we didn't mind the quiet of the countryside. A good place to eat is at the Olive Bistro 5mins by car on the A148 towards Cromer. Morrisons superstore and petrol station is mins in the other direction on the A148 towards Fakenham. Some nice walks around little Snoring airfield but it is in use still. Hint if you want the French doors open to the garden shut and lock the front door otherwise the chicken's may come in as the draft opens the front door. The White house and Cottage is currently up for sale and whilst we were there 2 viewings took place but Celia advised us when that would take place so we went weren't around. Holt, Cromer and Cley are lovely places to visit. But when we were their some places weren't open. BUT LANGHAM GLASS is NOT DOG FRIENDLY AT ALL!! Olive Bistro is very dog friendly inside and out. If the house is not sold we will be revisiting again next year.

A very enjoyable stay in a lovely location. Our hosts Celia and Paul were very knowledgeable about the local area and the advice we received was useful and opportune. Generous welcome pack incl free range eggs from Celia's chickens! Must recommend the lovely walk about 2 miles ish from the Cottage itself to Walsingham where some excellent pubs are available. The cottage's kitchen was excellent everything you need for a great stay. The large outdoor enclosed cottage garden was a delight our small dog loved it. The cottage was very comfortable overall and we would love the opportunity to revisit again. Can wholeheartedly recommend White House Cottage to anyone wanting a good base, near to amenities in Fakenham, but also very conveniently placed for trips Holt, Fakenham good Fish&Chip shop Nr to Tesco's, Blakeney, Cromer and wider Norfolk coast. Harry and Wendy

Little gem of a holiday cottage. The owner is such a lovely lady very helpful if you need her but otherwise leaves you to enjoy your holiday. The cottage itself was really comfortable and warm but the log burner is the icing on the cake. Just fabulous. Lovely quiet location but not far from some great towns and villages Holt and Burnham Market to name a couple and there are so many fantastic pubs not far away, all with proper chefs so the food is creative and delicious. We had a wonderful week.
Cheryl
We spent Christmas in White House Cottage and had a lovely relaxing time. The cottage is really comfortable and the owner was so helpful and friendly. Logs, kindling etc. were all provided which made for a lovely warm and toasty stay. The garden is completely enclosed so was perfect for the dog. The only very small problem was a shortage of general crockery but having spoken to Celia about this, Im sure has been rectified now. No petty rules for the dog either. We would definitely go back.
Norman

The White House Cottage had everything for a cosy and comfortable holiday, including a lovely safe garden where I could relax in the evening with my dog. Even on cooler evenings the view from the sofa was relaxing! Spotlessly clean with great facilities, big snuggly towels, loads of places to visit nearby, it was perfect. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely couple of days at the cottage. Ideal for travelling around the coast and the spacious garden was great for the dog. Patio could have done with a sweep but all in all a very pleasant stay.
Rachel
