Wigley Farm House Cottage Reviews

Eleanor
We had a very lovely stay here in January. The beds were comfy, towels were fluffy, kitchen was stocked with all utensils and crockery we needed, and the hot tub was perfect. The fire was a really nice addition and kept us warm in the snowy evenings. We will definitely be returning!
The property is outdated but clean and tidy. It is very heavily styled to the owners taste, so it did not feel particularly homely to us. The property is also difficult to find as there is no house name or number. Other guests have raised this previously, and we experienced the same issue, including groceries being delivered to a neighbouring property. The hot tub is positioned in an area overlooked by several nearby properties and has limited privacy. We used a small popup tent to create more privacy. When placing it on the grass, the owner came over to let us know the grass was wet. One of the owners also visited daily to add chemicals to the hot tub. The water felt strongly chlorinated during our stay, and we could only remain in it for a short time before experiencing eye irritation. After our stay, the owners contacted us regarding damage to bedding, stating it had been washed with coloured items. We were informed of this through Sykes. Overall, the location and cleanliness were positive aspects, but some elements of the stay did not suit us, particularly regarding privacy and interactions on site.

Loved the house. Well equipped and bedroom spacious with comfortable beds. Log burner and hot tub welcome extras. Really nice and unexpected welcome pack when we arrived. Looks like a great place for walking although we spent the time relaxing as the weather was not great. Lovely pub with great food 10 mins walk away. Would book again,
Tracey
Lovely stay here with friends. . a gem of a house...big size back garden and Lovely hot tub.. bedrooms are so comfy and cozy.. bathroom is amazing with a nice hot shower and a great big free standing bath... kitchen is huge ..well equipped with a airfryer.. didnt use the cooker as there was a lovely pub just on the end of the lane but in walking distance we called on the way home as we went to the bakewell xmas market..was a lovely welcome hamper with good quality bread milk biccys toffees and teabags ..such a lovely touch thankyou. Altho the only plastic for the hot tub we found was little beakers so maybe if you like a wine glass take one with you for a nice glass of fizz whilst enjoying the bubbles. Bit confused as to finding the key safe on arrival as I was looking on the wall by the paved drive but its by the back door so go through the gate and round the back. we parked around the back of the house down a lane as it was by the back gate.. the shared drive looked a bit of a squeeze if you have a big car with the neighbours trying to get past but we saw a nice man ..who maybe was the owner come out.. we obv looked lost and said its fine to park down on the back it was easier really then you can go through the back gate. So it needs updating or like us you will be looking up down the wall thinking your at the wrong house
We recently spent a lovely few days at this peaceful, warm and cosy property. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful little holiday. Also had a good sized, well maintained and safe garden that the dog enjoyed exploring. The thoughful welcome pack was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely lovely accommodation. Clean and tidy and lovely little touches like welcome basket including wine, bread, milk and goodies for the dogs. Lovely wood burner with kindling and wood provided. Everything was thought of by the owners and we would highly recommend. Dog beds and water bowl provided. Great walks from the doorstep for the dogs and you can walk all the way to Linacre Reservoirs which is beautiful around 2 miles to get there. 10 minutes drive to moorland walks. Hot tub was a great addition. Secure garden for dogs.
We stayed for a week with three children and one dog. Everyone agreed this was a lovely place to stay. The bedrooms were the most comfortable holiday let beds we have ever slept in ! The welcome basket was also a lovely touch with treats for everyone including the dog. The house was immaculate, the shower pressure lovely. The hot tub was also fantastic. On the doorstep is a spectacular view and stunning dog walks. The location for the peaks was great.
The cottage was immaculate, clean and well equipped air fryer for example. Quiet location with walks from the door. Very dog friendly with fully enclosed rear garden. The hot tub, arrival basket of goodies, proximity to a good pub, comfy beds and fluffy towels all great points. No hesitation in recommending. Possibly needs a second sofa if fully occupied, details for parking a second car if applicable and the description of the location of the key safe could do with improving, but these are minor points for what is a great place to stay. Would definitely stay again.

This is a lovely spacious 3 bedroom bungalow situated at the end of a 'no through road' in the tiny hamlet of Wigley. It has recently be refurbished by the owners and boasts a lovely 'rustic' well fitted kitchendiner a bathroom which is equipped with both a bath and an excellent 'easy access' shower 3 good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds a comfortable lounge with a 'smart' TV a rear garden which is 'escape proof' for most dogs and access to a rural footpaths and bridleways from the doorstep . Access to the bungalow is via a couple of steep steps but once inside, it is wheelchair friendly. When we stayed, the property had just been opened for letting and the owners, who were very friendly but unobtrusive, were conscious there might be a few 'detail' issues they had not been able to address. When we mentioned visitors like us might welcome some beer and 'red' wine glasses, these magically appeared later that day! Thankyou Would we stay again, Oh yes
