Willow Cottage Reviews

Elizabeth
A lovely spacious cottage in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because the beds didn't suit us... but that may be personal preference.. they weren't very supportive. Otherwise a lovely place to stay.. and a great pub is just around the corner serving a fab menu.
A really lovely, warm and cosy cottage in a quiet off road spot. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed walks on the beach & dunes as well as visits to Cragside, Howick, Bamburgh and Alnwick. Worth noting you can take dogs into Howick Hall and The Alnwick Garden on certain days at this time of year a real bonus! We enjoyed several good meals at the local pub and were warmly welcomed. The shop voucher, welcome box and washing up pack were much appreciated. A couple of maintenance issues need addressing and the dishwasher needs salt and rinse aid but none available. We would highly recommend the cottage and hope to return.
A lovely place to stay. Quiet, clean and cosy. Very good location for exploring the beautiful area, A well equipped kitchen.

This was our second visit in this lovely, wellappointed, warm and cosy cottage. The location of the cottage in the friendly village of Lesbury is perfect as a base for visiting the coast. The community shop is a great asset. Although the cottage was very well equipped, from our previous visit we did expect to have an extra toilet roll and washing up liquid. We would definitely recommend this cottage and we would stay again if we visit the Northumberland Coast.
Charming and spacious cottage in a great location for visiting many beautiful spots and walking distance of Alnmouth beach 1. 5miles All rooms very comfortable, the cottage has been well thought and kitted out. Stayed as a couple with a dog in November. Cottage is incredibly well insulated so heated up quickly and stayed cosy. Peaceful spot, slept very well and would definitely recommend.

Great cottage in a super location. Ideal for Alnwick or Almouth. Very comfortable.

The cottage was very comfortable and included everything you could need. Lovely fluffy white towels, plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. Lovely touch with 5 voucher to spend at the local village shop, in place of a welcome pack. Although washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs etc were provided, together the makings for a cup of tea or coffee on arrival. I gave it a 4 star for maintenance because the loo roll holder and small towel rail could do with fixing, kept dropping off the wall during our stay. I left a note about it in the visitors book.
Very nicely appointed cottage, far better than others we have used. Owner clearly has high standards, no compromise on quality relevant to all the updates. Access a little tight with just enough room to park, on cottage frontage. Very nice indeed, with Lesbury an affluent village with well stocked community run shop.

This was our second visit to Willow Cottage and it was again very comfortable and enjoyable. It is very clean and well equipped and in a delightful village, Lesbury, with an excellent community shop, an extra bonus since our last visit. The cottage is within easy reach of Alnmouth, Amble and Alnwick and well positioned for longer trips, with Alnmouth station nearby for visits to Berwick on Tweed and Edinburgh. The village pub was not so good, long waits to order in spite of booking, however, Bistro 23 in Alnmouth is outstanding. Willow Cottage is a really lovely place to stay.

Gorgeous cottage. Very comfortable and cosy. Beds really comfy. In a great location for visiting the area. Kitchen really well equipped, but lacked general cleaning items. No dishwasher tabletswashing up liquid. Only I toilet roll no extras. But we had a really lovely stay, and would return.

Comfortable and well appointed cottage.

It was a lovely, cosy welcoming cottage in a brilliant location central to lots of wonderful sights of interest. We have been to Northumberland 5 times and this was the best cottage. The decor was homely and it was very well furnished with comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped and a joy to cook in. We were very comfortable there. A couple of very small issues for the owners attention include There was no cutlery holder in the dishwasher The leaflets could be more up to date one was from 2016 There were no teaspoons! We had to buy some. We left them in the cottage for others. for the cost of the cottage the welcome pack could have been a little more extensive and exciting! We note that others had a welcome hamper years ago! We really liked Lesbury village. We supported the community shop which we thought was a great initiative. Unfortunately The Coach House was shut for renovation, otherwise we would have supported them as well. We highly recommend The Hope and Anchor in Alnmouth fantastic Italian food and friendly staff. We would definitely return to Willlow Cottage and recommend to friends. Thank you for a lovely stay

Google maps did not take us to front door of the property it took us into the yard of a neighbouring house Perhaps using What Three Words for directions would be helpful for future guests.

Overall the cottage was very comfortable clean and we really enjoyed it ... Overall the cottage was very comfortable clean and we really enjoyed it Unfortunately the dishwasher was not working so we never got to use it Which wasnt a tragedy it was inconvenient But top marks for everything else Would definitely return again
Great cottage, comfortably furnished and wellappointed.

Fabulous cottage. 1010
I had a problem with the operation of the TV which was satisfactorily resolved. Separate survey.
This was a perfect place for a small family group to spend a few days. Pub, shop and pleasant walks on the doorstep, and also a good base for exploring Northumberland's beaches and castles. We found all we needed during our stay and everything was in good condition.
We had a lovely stay at Willow Cottage. It was wonderfully clean perhaps the cleanest we've experienced and the heating was on so the cottage was cosy when we arrived. Everything we needed was there in a lovely environment. We all had a lovely stay and will definitely be back!
Michelle
Quiet location in a lovely village perfect base for exploring the area. Lovely comfortable & cosy cottage, well maintained & clean. Very well equipped, though a couple more mugs would be useful when using dishwasher.
Cottage is so lovely and comfortable. Everything there that you need. Lovely soft bath towels too! Cottage is close to all places to visit and the location of the cottage is so peaceful and quiet allowing you to unwind. Its a shame that there isnt a local pub within walking distance as then it would have been perfect for us as we wouldnt have had to use the car at all. Our only complaint that we can think of if asked was that it is a little untidy at the back of the cottage as you walk out of the gate lots of weeds on the gravel. Other than that this cottage is just perfect. We will definitely be returning again! Thank you
Barbara
Cottage was perfect for what we needed. Clean and well equipped. My only negatives would be water pressure bath takes so long to fill although I know this is probably an area wide issue? Also definitely need a nest of tables for coffee cups etc., Maintenance wise the yard and area behind needs weeding we still enjoyed it but as a holiday home owner myself I know some guests would complain.
A beautiful cottage, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our last minute stay. Thank you
Lindsey
A comfortable cottage, very clean and well equipped, perfect for two of us in the double bedroom. Slightly more hemmed in than we had imagined but appreciated the car parking one medium sized car and the little courtyard for sitting out. A very pleasant stay.
Deborah
The cottage was very clean, very well equipped including the welcome packs, very comfortable and roomy. Its excellently located. We had a lovely stay just not long enough so we plan to return at sometime. Thank you!
