Ynys Faelog Reviews

Michelle
Ten of us stayed here in June 2026 and, despite having a wonderful week with our family and getting married during our stay, there were several significant issues that prevent us from giving a higher rating. The location is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views across the Menai Strait, and the property itself has many positives. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, the tennis court is a great addition, and the fire pit provided some lovely evenings. We also enjoyed exploring the local area, with friendly locals, excellent restaurants, lovely shops and plenty to do nearby. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub. This was one of the features that attracted us to the property, but despite following the instructions carefully and spending over 30 on fuel, it never became properly hot. At best it reached lukewarm. The tub also had no cover, making it very difficult to retain any heat. We spent many hours trying to get it working as advertised, including after maintenance attended, but it remained unusable. Given that previous reviews appear to have raised similar concerns, this was particularly frustrating.
We have just spent a weekend at this stunning property , we were a family of 12 adults and a toddler. The property is beautiful and the location is stunning .We cant wait to go back

The most beautiful setting, house stunning, so well equipped everything you could need was there. Only small moan the outside balcony wasnt cleaned so we needed to sweep it, there was no shade umbrella's etc, also the hot tub fire wasnt cleaned out so full of ash etc. All 10 of us had the best time, couldnt recommend it more. So peaceful didnt want to leave,
This is an absolutely fabulous destination. The house has been updated to an incredibly high spec and the island setting is second to none. We had no problem with the hot tub just needs around 3 to 4 hours to get up to temp and then easily regulated with the cold water tap. The house proved to be the perfect venue for my wifes 50th there were eleven of us for a long weekend and couldnt have been any better. Ps The Victoria Hotel close by did us proud for our Sunday lunch would recommend

The property was gorgeous. The views were amazing and the accommodation was perfect. Our family really enjoyed experiencing a tidal property and we were all endlessly fascinated at watching the Menai Strait. No problems with the property. We bought a broom since we could not find one and I replaced a cafetiere which I broke sorry. We did not always have hot baths even though the house was a long way below capacity. But none of this troubled us. One of our number is worried he left his keys in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Could someone check whether they are there please? We appreciate we will have to pay for them to be sent to us.

Not enough wine glasses, not enough dinner plates for 12 guests. Only half the toaster worked and the hot tub never got hot enough despite 7 hours of continual heat that was extremely laborious. Such a shame as this is a 5 star venue let down by easily fixable shortcomings.

We had an amazing weekend, the house is beautiful and decorated to a high standard. The only issue was the difficulty in warming up the hot tub and we were unable to use it despite our efforts on two nights. Stunning location but difficult to access with a wheelchair when the tide was high .

House was just right for our needs . Would recommend owners deal with another let company .one that operates on a more personal level and doesnt send emails during the stay which if they answered their phone more could have been dealt with before arrival .
Fabulous property in a wonderful location, would like to come again for longer!
We absolutely loved staying at this property and everything was perfect. There were two things we would like to feedback though The absence of any kind of folder with key information in about the property and its amenities presents some challenges. For example knowing how to turn the heating off and how to operate the hot tub. It would be in the owners interests from a sustainability perspective to provide this info. Secondly we were very surprised to find the late one night the footpath which is supposedly accessible at all time was submerged with the tide. Perhaps due to a full moon it was an exceptionally high tide. Nonetheless it is advertised as accessible at all times via footpath. We had 2 friends who had come for dinner and were unable to get off the island that night and had to stay to 5am. I appreciate that your listing wouldnt want to give the impression its not accessible but again if there were a folder of key information it could be noted that occasional exceptional high tides may mean the footpath is inaccessible
We enjoyed our stay here, the house was beautiful with stunning views, and was well equipped. The beds were comfy, lovely furniture, and the house was cozy and warm. The house itself was very clean, however the hot tub unfortunately was not. We had no pre warning that the tub was drained and the expectation was to fill it. This wasnt really as issue as it filled quickly, but we did have to clean it before use as it hadnt been done, something I dont expect to have to do given the cost of the holiday home. I also had issues locating the hot tub starter pack. We waited for assistance from the house keeper for a few hours, and when I called to chase up, was directed to wood which had been left in the rain and was no use. I purchased logs, kindling and fire lighters myself. After our holiday I was told if I had receipts then I would be reimbursed. Had I known this before and not after the holiday, I would have kept them. The property itself was immaculate, and I could not fault the cleaning inside. I understand how difficult it must be to clean such a large home in a short space of time, and credit where its due, it was spotless inside. Reading a previous review, I agree the house would benefit from a manual , we muddled through just fine but normally expect a go to guide on how to use the appliances, hot tub, WiFi etc. I did query this and was sent a link on the use of the wood fired hot tub which was great, but again, it would save visitors time if this info were readily available. We enjoyed our stay, and had it not been for the handling of the some of the above raised, would probably have booked again for our annual Christmas holiday as it was a lovely house. As a regular customer with Sykes, Im disappointed.

Beautiful house and setting , fabulous weekend had by all , exceeded our expectations
Absolutely fantastic place would definitely recommend to everyone I know. Just one little thing but only little maybe a a little welcome book with things like WiFi etc would be handy. Apart from from nothing was at fault. Such an amazing place
