2 The Bays Reviews

The location of the property is second to none. The outdoor table and chairs is a fantastic sun trap even in the month of May. We were very comfortable at the property. The only point all of our Party felt was lacking is that we were provided with one bath towel and there were not individual hand towels which felt a little unhygienic. If thats the only negative points, I think you can see that this is a fantastic property.

The property was well presented.
We had a fantastic two night stay in Thorpeness. We come to Snape Maltings for the food festival every year and have stayed at versions accommodation. The position of this house is perfect for exploring and walking distance to the Meare and the beach. If I had to give any negative feedback it would not be for the house but the one spot parking is very small and would not fit any of our SUVs easier. That was fine we found parking elsewhere so no real problem.
A lovely property, well presented and comfortably housed 10. Near to all amenities. Parking a slight problem at the weekend when village was exceptionally busy . Only found the keys to the French doors on the morning we left. There was no mention of these in the info folder. The welcome pack was a delight & very generous. We wouldnt hesitate to book again .
Wonderful is the only word to describe this property. We spent a long weekend break here and absolutely everything was perfect and exactly as described. Thoroughly recommend this house.

I would definitely recommend this property. It was the perfect house for a family get together. It was very homely, warm and comfortable for a family group ranging from 6 years to 70 years plus 1 dog. It had enough of everything we needed especially in the kitchen. The aga is new to me but was excellent to cook with and I managed a full Sunday roast for 10 but I did do some research on how to use it beforehand which helped however there was an aga cook book available at the house. Having 3 bathrooms was a big bonus especially as our group included 3 teenage girls and we always had plenty of hot water. Location was brilliant overlooking the Meare and close to the beach. One very tight parking space is provided but parking for our other vehicles was a slight issue, mostly during the day as Thorpeness is a popular tourist destination but come the evening the layby close by was perfect. There was a bus service that goes through Thorpeness and plenty of places to eat. Walking into Aldeburgh along the sea front was good and took about 40 mins one way. Thank you for letting us use your house for the perfect break.
We booked for Christmas the house looked lovely abd was just as we hoped it ... We booked for Christmas the house looked lovely abd was just as we hoped it would be It was decorated for Christmas The views of the estuary are stunning as is the surrounding area we had everything we needed in the house It was really warm due to the aga and we found cooking was easy there is an extra oven Beds are comfortable the house was clean there are good walks in the area Aldeburgh is a 2 mile walk along the costal path and is great for a visit We had a really good time and would recommend the house to anyone

We rented this property to celebrate my 70th Birthday with my 2 children their partners and my four grandsons. We also took our dog who was very happy in the utility area with the occasional foray into the kitchenlounge. The property is beautifully appointed with the very best in soft furnishings, bedding and good towels. There was far more than we expected provided in the property and we were delighted with the very generous welcome pack. The property is beautifully positioned on the mere and 5 minutes from the beach. There are two good eating places on the mere and we had a lovely Sunday lunch at 'The Dolphin' pub. I couldn't have been happier with the property and if I want another break away with family, or friends, we will be back.

Exceedingly well equipped kitchen but despite plea from owner we did not make friends with the Aga! Better instructions and where to find them would have been useful. Owner VERY helpful when we phoned with queries about it. The 2 normal electric ovens seemed to have faulty thermostats as one overcooked and one under for the same temperature set. Generally super clean but pet hair over sofas and arm chairs attached itself to clothing and set off allergies in two of the party. One grill pan hidden away with very burnt food on it. All 7 of the party agreed it was a lovely house with lovely location and didnt want to leave. Have to agree with one of the feedbacks on the steepness and narrowness of the stair treads as great care needed when descending.
Lovely property with bags of room loved the Aga, parking space behind property could only accommodate a small car so used the parking area just along the road, we appreciate turn around time for a large property to be cleaned is difficult but the kitchen had some spillages on kitchen cupboard and other areas needed a bit of a better clean. This in no was spoiled our stay we would highly recommend this property for a break, lovely location.
Several of us slipped & fell in the baths, luckily no injuries. Suggest handles & bigger anti slip mats. Otherwise lovely house, very well equipped , delighted to find the Aga! Great stay! Thanks.
We really enjoyed staying at 2 The Bays, lovely location and facilities. The property was well equiped with everything needed to cater for 10 people.
Beautiful house, everything you could need to make a comfortable stay.

Beautiful setting. Very clean and well equipped. Convenient for the beach and the lovely Suffolk coast. We enjoyed the Mere and walking from the house.
We absolutely 2 The Bays its a wonderful house in a fab location! There are quite a few maintenance issues we spotted that I thought I should pass on Lamps in front double bedroom are very dodgy! They cut out and Make strange sparking noises. My son opened the back of the TV remote control in the TV room as it wasnt working and found it had the wrong batteries and were filled with foil?!? There was a lengthy power cut whilst we were there and there were only a few mostly melted candles and the torches not working to light us luckily the lovely staff at the Dolphin kindly lent us some candles. Ensuite sink broken, the plug once it is in cannot be taken out, the mechanism to lift the plug isnt working. The silver bin which used to be in the kitchen for recycling was in the garden and full of bottles when we arrived. We took our bottles to the bottle bank round the back of the Dolphin and put our recycling in the correct bins, but it meant there was no recycling bin in the kitchen and we had to use carrier bags.
A really beautiful friendly and cosy house in a perfect location for enjoying Thorpeness and Aldeburgh. The house is tastefully decorated, nicely furnished with extremely comfy beds and cosy sofas. Loads of space for 10. The kitchen is superbly well equipped and we enjoyed cooking on the aga! The only problem we had related to the ensuite shower which wasn't suitable for our older guests who found they had to walk downstairs to use a standup shower. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fabulous house with perfect views. We stayed with elderly parents who struggled with the stairs, maybe the steepness of them should be mentioned in the listing. Not a complaint as they managed but they did struggle. However, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the position of the house, the amenities and the weather were perfect

Comfortable bedspillows with extra blankets provided if needed. Would definitely recommend it to others.
