4 Percy Street Reviews

On first entry looked clean but on closer inspection during the week it really does need a good deep clean. skirting boards and cupboards etc, the stairs need attention they are extremely creaky and must annoy the people next door. Two of the internal doors downstairs are stiff to open and need attention. only one toilet roll in the bathroom had to go out and buy some also had to buy washing machine pods as none available.also had to buy bin liners as only one in the bin , these should have been in a pack under the sink . top tip for anyone else is to take your netflix password with you as this isnt included with the tvprime is the back yard needed a good sweep and the chair cushions need to be washed as they were covered in bird poo, some sort of guide local map and places to visit leaflets would have been nice as the tourist information place had closed down. also manuals for washer and tv and heating and shower would have been useful we managed eventually to work these things

The house is in a great location. The listing is not accurate as the summary says 2 king rooms which I always take as being bed size however the beds in both rooms were only doubles. The smart TV was not working as a smart TV as I was not able to connect any of the apps that I have subscriptions for. The owner was informed and did arrange an engineer but not until after we left. The property is quite grubby in places the blinds radiators skirting boards and some of the cupboards were quite dirty I think it would benefit from a good deep clean.

Lovely little home. We travelled as a family of 4 with our pet dog and it was perfect for what we needed. Close to the town and harbour with lots of lovely beaches and coastal walks, this meant we didn't need to get in the car, but if you do it's only a short trip to Alnwick and Alnmouth. The garden was secure which was great for the dog and children, the beds were comfortable and the decor was lovely. We also did the walk along the estuary to Warkworth castle, which the kids loved. There's lot's of dog friendly beaches with only one small local beach having restrictions. My one tip is take a bottle opener as that's all that was missing
Lovely comfortable property. The beds were very comfortable and the shower great. Kitchen was well equipped and the outside was safe and secure for dogs. Parking is very easy. Amble is a sweet place to visit and the people are so friendly.

Another great stay at No 4. We really liked the decor refurb . The improvement in the kitchen facilities was also much appreciated. This is a great property to stay in as it so central to all the amenities that Amble has to offer. We are looking forward to forward to our next visit in the Autumn
Stephen
The property was clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. The Christmas tree and decorations were a really nice touch and greatly appreciated. Close to the Main Street and harbour and beaches. Easy to get to other places in Northumberland.
Ideal area to stay to visit the Northumberland Coast. 4 Percy Street had everything we needed could do with manual for cooker just not used to electric. Clean, comfortable and very close to beautiful Harbour beach walk. Amble is a lovely little village!!

Lovely little terrace with everything you need and very cost effective. Enjoyed our stay. Very close to everything and parking was easy in November when we visited. Nice little yard for dog and to have breakfast in the sun. Bed very comfy and bedding immaculate. Could have done with a king but cant complaint as we slept well. Little issues include very very creaky stairs and landing. Toilet flush very slow and remote control for tv not working well. Would stay again despite this.

We have stayed in this property 6 times over the past few years and have always been pleased with the accommodation. Spotlessly clean , very comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Its location is excellent for exploring all that Amble has to offer. We have bookings in place for another 5 weeks next year so I think that shows its a good choice
Lovely cottage . Excellent position. Has everything you need . Could do with an information book. Toilet seat needs adjusting but other than that fantastic. Would recommend.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay at 4 Percy Street. It is an absolutely lovely cottage in a beautiful town. Quiet and peaceful, with a very nice private garden, perfect for a morning or afternoon cuppa. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped. Really comfy beds and beautiful bedding. Everything you could need is provided. We really enjoyed our stay and are definitely looking forward to returning soon.

Stayed here for a week. Lovely well maintained property. We had a lovely week staying here. Ideal for getting around and visiting the many lovely beaches. Nice dog friendly pubs which is a great plus. Will definitely come back and stay here again.

The property itself is a good, clean, comfortable, typical holiday rental. We knew there was no off street parking when we booked but thats the only downside. The back yard seems to get a lot of sun. The Welcome pack is naff, it contains a very small tube of washing up liquid and 3 dishwasher tablets but there is no dishwasher. Two of the internal doors downstairs are stiff to open and need some attention. Overall a good rental.
Brilliant cottage, in a great location, great pubs nearby, very comfortable cottage, sofas great ,beds great. Even garden good sun trap.would definitely stay again.
Lovely property clean, comfortable and met or exceeded expectation from the listing descriptions.

Very comfortable and well equipped. Close to the Main Street and Harbour. All good.
The property was lovely, clean and welcoming. The throws were a happy bonus as we had a dog with us, and could cover the sofas with them! The property was close to all amenities and the beach. All in all a lovely stay in a cosy property thank you so much!!
Loved the cottage decor and its location for all the amenities of town . Nice it has a garden area with seating , to be able to sit out on sunny days. Only problem the mirrors in the bathroom and downstairs were hung for taller people, too high for me to use, being 5ft 3 inch . Would definitely book the cottage again
Barbara
Our 3rd stay at this property and we love everything about it . Great situation close to all amenities, private garden space, well equipped kitchen and most important of all a really good comfortable bed. We like it so much we are booked for another 3 weeks this year

Really lovely property, decorated with style, homely, warm & comfortable & bonus of being dog friendly. enclosed garden was perfect for our 2 dogs. close to all shops and lovely short walk to the beachharbour. would 100 return. cannot fault in any way at all thank you for providing such a lovely home from home stay.
Exterior ok, interior spot on, it's a bit like a tardis. Everything you could want, home from home. Toilet seat needs adjusted. It's was good we had never been to Amble before, the harbour area was nice but the North sea could've been nicer, very cold wind. Not the owners fault. It's just a shame that Amble is suffering from shop closures, the.harbour is good for independent businesses, there is no Coop just a Tesco express and a Morrisons about a 1520 min walk. All in all very good.
Amanda
Had a lovely relaxed week. House is lovely, clean and had everything we needed. Amble is also a lovely place. Enjoyed our daily walk to the beach and pier. Plenty of places to eat out and shops within 5 mins walk. We will be back
Jennifer
We had a fabulous Christmas in this cottage. It was very comfortable and cosy and had everything you could possibly need. It is just minutes away from the shops and harbour area. We loved it and will return. I would highly recommend it and the town of Amble which is a perfect base for touring Northumberland
Melanie
Lovely house in centre of amble. Parking on front no issues. Thermostat for hearing which was an added bonus. Stayed in many dog friendly places this was exceptionally clean. Beds comfortable and good shower. Would definitely stay again.
We had a brilliant stay, the cottage had everything we needed for our holiday,a short walk into the centre of amble defiantly book back up.
Melanie
Overall a nice cottage, very clean and can see newly decorated through out. Good size rooms and a good size yard for the area. A few negatives, the cooker took ages to cook anything , took 1 hour to do chips that should have took 15 minutes. So couldn't use it. And it was on a very noisy road , even through the night cars were zooming past . Obviously that can't he helped but if like us you are taking a dog and a baby might be too noisy.
I'll start with the pros as I don't want to be too negative, the beds & sofas were lovely & comfortable, there were plenty of towels, storage, hooks, crockery & glassware. The back yard got sun all day & there was a washing line, pegs & clothes prop which was brilliant. There was also an outside tap which was great for washing sandy wellies off. The house was only a short walk from the harbour, & only a short walk from a good pub serving food & a lovely little micro bar, both dog friendly, The neatives were that the cleaning left a lot to be desired, there were cobwebs & dust behind the TV, & the ledges on the doors were all very dusty. A strange thing that we've always had when ever we've stopped in self catering before, there was no hand wash in the bathroom, only hand gel! Also only 2 toilet rolls to last a week!! Surely the cleaner should also know that the toilet brush is broken!? Also one of the garden chairs was rotting away, one of the lats on the seat had broken. The freezer needed defrosting, & the welcome pack that contained a scourer, thin dish cloth, dishwasher tablets No dishwasher!, the tiniest bottle of washing up liquid & 2 bin bags was a waste of time. The owner must spend a lot of money providing these, they would be much better off leaving a normal bottle of WUL, a roll of bin bags & a scourer. I think they have recently put a new kettle & toaster in the kitchen as there were old ones in the cupboard, be careful with these, the kettle leaks water everywherewhen you try & pour it & with the toaster you have to tuen the setting button to 0 to cancel as it doesn't have a cancel button. Also in the back bedroom there is a trailing socket near the bed, be careful for falling over it. All in all a lovely little place to stay, if the cleaner & handyman did a better job it would be brilliant
Property clean and bright. Only a 3 night break but could easily have stayed longer. Great location for dog and walks from the door. Mostly ate out but house seemed to have everything you would need. Would have no hesitation in returning to same property.

Great cottage liked the location Nice places to eat & drink and the pubs are dog ... Great cottage liked the location Nice places to eat & drink and the pubs are dog friendly everyone so helpful and friendly Cottage had everything needed bed was very comfortable and parking no problem right outside plenty of beautiful beach and they are huge and dog friendly so we had one of are best holidays will definitely be booking again
Lovely little property with lots of nice finishing touches and comfy beds. there does seem to be a problem with ants, they were on worktops each morning even though we didnt leave food out. I know it's a difficult one to solve but only mentioning as I'm sure it will be worse in the summer. Overall still a lovely stay
All in all a lovely stay but they really need to get the ant problem in the kitchen sorted out.
Stayed here for a week in April, must say had a great time, house was very homely felt very settled here, comfortable bed, two nice comfy leather sofas, good wifi, nice powerful shower, well supplied kitchen, nothing to complain about. Nice area round the back but unfortunatley was a bit to windy to make the most of it. Nice location, walks from more or less outside your door Amble was a nice little place
Barbara
We spent a week in No 4 last year we liked it so much we have just spent another 2 weeks, and we are coming back for a further 3 weeks in the autumn . The kitchen is very well equipped I couldnt ask more The bed was very comfortable, lovely clean fresh bed linen Comfortable settees in the living . All in all perfect
Still an ant infestation problem, despite previous reviews. Problem only evident in kitchen, but wasn't able to leave food out as a result. Also couldn't use the kitchen bin without 100's of ants appearing, so all good waste had to go directly into the outside bins. Food and ants not a great combination, ended up eating out more than not. Other than that, nice property, but spoilt the holiday, and feel the problem should have been resolved by now.
Nice little house with secure back door suitable for dogs. 2 minute walk to the high street and all amenities. Would definitely recommend
Barbara
A beautifully presented holiday home. Charming decor It was spotlessly clean they had thought of everything that you could wish for. Plentiful supply of tea bags and sugar as well as washing up liquid and soap A delightful backyard great for having a meal outside. The bed was amazingly comfortable and wonderful quality bed linen and towels. My only tiny niggle is that there were no phone charging points ,or a socket for an electric razor. Some of the sockets upstairs were too low down. I really dont like moaning about the sockets We had a great stay and I am sure we will come again
Alison
I appreciated the attention to detail, aesthetics and comfort.
Great property had everything we needed ,it was more or less home from home
Amble is a great place to holiday and this is a lovely place to stay in. Decor is very fresh and everything worked well and was easy to use. As we ended up having to do some work while we were there the dining room was excellent to work in and .Wifi is good. Location is excellent for harbour and town and nice sweet shop a few doors away was well used.
