Carnon Gwel Reviews

Carissa
Wow, this house was just absolutely stunning. It was spacious and luxurious and every detail was thought of, even down to shot glasses
Frances
This is our second visit to Carnon Gwel. It is a lovely house with beautiful views over the stream and wetlands, which in May are filled with pink thrift. The house is warm, comfortable and well appointed. It is also very secure. The owners are easily contactable, if necessary. We reported a problem with the ensuite shower room for the double bedroom hopefully this has now been addressed. A chest of drawers in this double bedroom would also be very useful. Perfect location for visiting this beautiful area of Cornwall. We would be very happy to return to Carnon Gwel some time in the future.
Has an absolutely great time in this house. It's immaculate, smells lovely and had everything we needed! By far the best holiday let we've stayed in, even without taking into account the great view, patio, hot tub etc. So refreshing to arrive somewhere and find foil, clingfilm, cooking oil, squash more than one dishwasher tablet, bin bag etc... and find I didn't need to pack all that. The forethought of it being provided by the owner and previous guests means just means you're more likely to reciprocate and as a result there's loads of useful stuff in the cupboards. The front yard is secure with an electric gate so it's safe for the dogkids whilst you're loading. Ample storage for bikes. As mentioned by other reviewers the pool table and ping pong are not full size so if you're a serious player you might be a bit disappointed not a criticism, just an observation, we knew before we booked but even so my husband and 16 year old son had such a laugh in the games room and playing basketball on the drive. The road noise IS noticeable, particularly at night if you're not used to it, but honestly only in the twin room didnt notice it at all on the patio and it was easily covered by putting the fan on. It's a completely acceptable payoff to us for being in such an accessible spot the bus stops 1 minute away, 23 times an hour to FalmouthTruro. There's access to the lovely Carnon Valley trail right next to the bus stop, miles of walking and bike trails. Thanks, Sam.
Beautiful house, perfectly located with amazing views and a feeling of calm. House is gorgeous, lovely and clean and well equipped The terrace overlooking the estuary is huge and in the summer would be ideal for BBQs and social gatherings, with the hot tub delivering the final luxury The only disappointing future was the number of cobwebs and huge spiders in the games room, it put us off using it, was also sad that the table tennis and pool tables were not full sized Would definitely recommend and book again

The house was amazing. It had everything we required. The Scones were much appreciated

Amazing place to stay for exploring Cornwall. Fully equipped with everything we could need. We enjoyed the hot tub and games room.
Spectacular property with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great location and views to the rear. Nice finishing touches with modern design!

Absolutely fabulous house, can't fault anything, except maybe a decent tin opener and a large roasting tin! Thank you for the scones, jam and clotted cream you really can't beat a proper Cornish cream tea after a long journey. The kitchen was fully stocked with tea, coffee, milk, dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods, no need to worry about taking anything. The emergency kit in the cupboard containing flip flops, feminine items etc is a really good idea. We did have a couple of issues but a quick call to Sam and Abi and everything was sorted immediately. Can't wait to stay again.

We had the best stay at this lovely holiday home. Everything we wanted all in one place and very central to the days out that we had planned. The house was just great. Sam was very friendly and showed us how to use everything that we intended to use and also was very helpful when it came to answering any questions that we had before our holiday started. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone as it did cater to all of our needs. The hot tub was a major success with our family and was used daily after our days out and about. I would definitely stay here again in the future!

Lovely house! Very clean and tidy, with great technology and we felt safe and secure during our stay. Games Room in garage was fun and warm. Loads of room for 8 people 5 of us stayed, with room to move around inside and out. The extensive balconies were a welcome addition too. Great rear uninterrupted views, with nearby walkscycle tracks to explore. We couldn't adjust the underfloor heating despite a supplied user manual, which made the home too warm during our stay! Speak to owners... The internet signal was weak, but understandable given the location. More mirrors and storagewardrobes in bedrooms to do makeup, store clothes etc. suggested. A carpetmat by lounge patio doors to keep floor clean and dry? An air fryer in kitchen also suggested. Constant main road noise at front and metal company at rear weekdays, could be an issue for some if windows and or doors open. Hence 910 recommendation, if not used to general external noise. The large hot tub was a family favourite and cleanedchecked by owners every day and not overlooked! We didn't hear the neighbours at all despite being semidetached. Overall a lovely home, in a great location not withstanding the noise. Lovely hosts. Extremely comfortable with spacious rooms, clean, modern, fully equipped and above all, safe. Best holiday house we've ever stayed at!
This holiday home is perfect in every way. It is immaculate, homely and there is nothing it doesnt have. It is STUNNING, MODERN with the most BEAUTIFUL views!! It is perfectly located with lots of beautiful places to visit the Eden Project, Truro Cathedral and Trelissick National Trust. Although we visited for Christmas, the beaches are still just as beautiful and there are several to visit including Perranporth and Loe Beach. There are beautiful local walks, pubs within a mile and Truro town centre about a 10 minute drive. Theres an Aldi and Tesco Superstore, so you can pick up your groceries, beverages or any basic necessities you might have left behind. The owner is super helpful and will actually go above and beyond. Gave us a full tour and went over anything we wasnt sure about or how to use. E.g. How to turn on the hot tub, use the EV Charger. Honestly, there is everything onsite Patio heaters, travel cot, baby gates, board games even olive oil, washing powder, herbs and salt & pepper. If you are not sure about anything you need to take, message ahead because I guarantee you probably dont need it. The only thing I couldnt find were baby monitors and the owner immediately offered to go purchase. This was super kind but we didnt need them in all honesty, this demonstrates how the owner will go above and beyond to make your stay as safe and as comfortable as possible. We loved every minute and look forward to revisiting in summer. Thanks Sam and Carnon Gwel for the most perfect Christmas 2024!!
