About Cosy Nook

A former fisherman’s cottage at the centre of this delightful coastal village with easy access to sweeping coastlines and vibrant communities. Well suited to small families or two couples, the dog-friendly cottage features homely living areas, two spacious bedrooms and an enclosed courtyard garden. Set down a quiet cobbled street away from the hustle and bustle of the quayside, the cottage has been carefully brought up to date without losing any of its original character. Relax in a comfortable living room featuring a wood-beamed ceiling and enjoy hearty meals in the welcoming dining room, only a few paw prints away from the natural glow of the modern kitchen. The bathroom on the first floor is joined by two spacious bedrooms - a king-sized bedroom with a wrought iron bed frame and a twin bedroom that can be converted to a super-king on request - both of which offer ample storage space. The enclosed walled garden to the rear is a private place to relax with a book or enjoy an alfresco meal during the day. If you can tear yourselves away from the comfortable surroundings of the cottage, Appledore’s quayside and winding streets are teeming with shops and dog-friendly pubs. Water sports lovers will be in their element at Westward Ho! (3 miles) whose vast beach also welcomes sunbathers and sandcastle builders. For something farther afield, hop on the ferry to Instow (1 mile) to join the Tarka Trail and then peddle to the historic town of Bideford (7 miles) thereafter.

Cosy Nook Reviews

John
Overall o.k. But over priced for what was on offer. Noisy during day, can hear voices from Cafe next door. Not particularly clean. Better accommodation on offer at lesser price.
Philip
A small family, we had a mainly relaxing week at Cosy Nook. It was well-renovated and equipped and pleasantly furnished and equipped, and very quiet at night. The sofa-diner area is a good size yet it is dark so we had to switch on lights frequently. The sun-trap backyard was nice too. However, there was no welcome pack or clothes washing tabs on arrival. The kitchen smelt musty, and, concluded there weren't enough hangers provided in the bedrooms. We had to hold onto the hand rails, mind our heads, and walk carefully on way up and down the stairs. Beds are comfortable. Easy location to access the quay, restaurants, grocer, and, ferry to Instow. Parking was a bit tricky because it was high season and Appledore was very busy. Otherwise, it was a good stay.
Sandra
Very comfortable and in good position.
Lyn
Quirky building ,parking was easy for us but may be more difficult in high season
Paul
We spent Christmas at Cosy Nook and had a very special time, it's our second time staying there at Christmas and would definitely book again.
Danny
A nice house in a great location.
Karl
Cosy Nook is in an idyllic location close to the harbour and surrounded by shops, cafes/restaurants/pubs and other local amenities. The cottage is traditionally quaint, well equipped and comfortable. Parking is nearby and quite a lot to do within the village including fishing trips, ferry crossing service, dog walking, maritime museum and RNLI lifeboat station. Ideal for couples and senior citizens.
Sean
A lovely cottage in a great location.
Timothy
Main gripe sofa not big enough in front room, TV could be larger as well, rear area needs some TLC done on it, although we really enjoyed it very tranquil cottage, location you could not fault, pub's very friendly lovely village.
