First impression was fab but it wasn't cleaned properly, there was ladybirds in every room and lots of them. Lights outside didn't work, maintenance came round but never came back to fix them. Bath robes were tatty and holey. The plates and cups were all scratched and marked
It could have been such a lovely stay. ..the house is beautiful and the setting is exactly what we hoped. However, the house was not clean at all. Carpets and sofas filthy, fridge leaked, surfaces dirty and cupboards with grime in, from what we can tell there had been a group in before us that had used it as a party house, beer bottle caps everywhere! The Sofas were vile and we ended up putting throws on the carpet just so our babies had something separating them from the carpet. We enjoyed the area and I cant stress enough how with some actual upkeep and cleanliness this would be a beautiful and welcoming holiday cottage. We cant help but feel let down and would not book again, as a large family holidays are few and far between and sadly this one didn't warrant what we paid.
A spacious comfortable lodge where all the family enjoyed a great stay. The outside area is great with hot tub BBQ and firepit in a secluded woodland .The lodge has everything you need with a lovely welcome pack robes and slippers a nice touch. The beds so comfy and linen and towels great quality. The lodge has 1 shower but we all managed well.We all are looking to go back as soon as we can.
Really loved our stay here and it was a great base to explore, A really nice place to stay and only a couple of things that could have improved our experience. The drive is very steep and could be difficult to use in the wetter colder weather. There is only one bathroom with a shower & bath. There is an ensuite but this is just a toilet and sink. When we all needed showers in the morning, and there was 8 of us, it did take a while for us all to get ready.

Very enjoyable stay at highwood lodge. Nice touch with the welcome pack. Only a couple of small problems was the radiator in the twin room did not work and it was very cold even with the heater. Also I think some of the oven trays in the cupboard could do with replacing. We would definitely recommend this property.
