Jurassic Sea View Reviews

Caroline
Lovely holiday house, plenty of room for 8 of us incl baby and toddler. Its about a 20 min walk into lyme, which is fine getting there, but a bit more challenging walking back, especially with a pushchair and definitely not with a wheelchair. If you leave the house and walk to the bottom of the road, turn right and then left, you can eventually turn right and walk alongside the river which is lovely. Before you get to the river, you do have to walk along part of a road which has no pavement. The house has a small garden out the back with room to hang washing etc. Nice views from the front double bedroom, to the sea. If you have mobility problems however, there are steep steps to access the property.
Beautiful property easily accommodated our family of 3 adults, 2 children under 8 and 1 dog. Lovely views from front terrace. Visitors should be aware the walk down to Lyme Regis from this property whilst beautiful is a fair gradient therefore is extremely steep on the way back.
A wonderful house that was very well equipped to suit our 3 generation family. Our grandson absolutely loved finding all the dinosaurs in the garden. The scent of the wisteria was amazing. It was a pity that only one bedroom enjoyed the fantastic sea and coastal view. My only criticism, there was no means for recycling which was unusual having come from a city where everything is recycled. Thank you for sharing your property.

We were a family party of 9 with 5 Adults and 4 children. All went very well as the house was perfect for our group size and is warm and comfortable with plenty to keep the kids occupied in and out of the property. Well equipped kitchen and very nice welcoming pack on arrival. The walk to the town via the river was pleasant just be prepared for the short up the hill sectionon return but all our kids managed it ok aged 4 to 11 I think our only negative feedbackfrustration was the WiFi not particularly strong in the lounge so lots of buffering experienced when trying to watch TV. Overall highly recommended.
Fantastic home
The house is very well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The steps were no problem for us, but could be difficult for people with mobility issues. We enjoyed the pleasant walk to Lyme along the river, although it is quite steep on the return. The reason for the lower score is the difficulty we experienced when we unfortunately locked ourselves out on a Sunday. We tried the helpline numbers the first advised us to contact another number, and we received a text saying we would hear back in 20 minutes. No reply came, so we went to the nearby office and found an outofhours mobile number on the door. This led us to a very helpful person who travelled to Lyme to collect spare keys and place them in the key safe for us. It would be helpful if this outofhours number were included in the property information, and if a second set of keys could be provided in the key safe.
The property was so spacious and comfortable. We self cater a lot and the kitchen diner had everything we needed.comfy bedrooms and beds. We walked into Lyme along the river every day and it was charming! We went in November, but the heating was excellent and could be used generously. Altogether a really good experience!
That view! Wonderful property as described. Loved the welcome bag thank you. Would have liked some kitchen towel and foil to wrap leftovers but otherwise had everything we needed and could have wanted.
The quality of the property and furnishings was exemplary. Plenty of space for my group of 6 adults, and the kitchen was a cooks dream, large hob, 2 x ovens and plenty of utensils. On our second day we found the automatic plug on the bath was broken and couldn't be removed to empty the water. We managed to lift the plug which then discharged the water downstairs and through the lights and switches. This highlighted that the leak was recent and the cleaning was done dry or not all in the bathroom. Additionally both emergency telephone numbers went to the same set of optionsnone of which were relevant or indeed answered when chosen and I eventually managed to speak to a person by selecting the option to become a holiday owner! The on call maintenance team were quick to arrive once the leak was noted and the bathroom was isolated for the remainder of our day.

Fantastic property, all mod. cons. Spacious, Very clean and tidy. Light and airy. Views over town towards Black Ven and Golden Cap, stunning. Grand kids loved trying to spot all the dinosaurs. Highly recommended for family holiday. Would love to use again. Only drawback...steep uphill for us old ones

Requested more information on the facilities available, property was lovely
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the lovely view, the spacious layout, and the wellstocked kitchen. The property provided a comfortable base for exploring Lyme Regis, and we were grateful for the thoughtfulness evident in many of the amenities. We hope the following comments will be helpful for future improvements
Delightful house but being 75 years old the steps up to the property were difficult. We also assumed that being unable to walk the hill down to the town, and certainly not the steep ascent back, we would be able to use a local taxi service rather than having to drive and thus unable to enjoy a drink or two. The taxi card on the board in the kitchen is years out of date and the local firms have insufficient drivers and not really prepared to take on short journeys. We were unable to get a cab down to town on our first night and waited over two hours to be able to book a return. After much consideration, and being unprepared to run the risk of being stranded we decided to come home after one night.
This house is in a wonderful location, with sea views and a very pretty fifteen minute walk downhill to the sea, following the path to the right alongside the river, past pretty cottages, the water mill and the micro brewery. A call in the latter on the return route was well placed and certainly helped with the climb back up the hill! The patio at the front is a lovely location for breakfast and coffee. Back patio opening off the kitchen french doors is very handy and the gardens beyond are well planted and pretty. The roses in May were glorious. A word of warning is that this property is at the top of a very steep hill, with a climb up steep steps from the drive to the front door, so is only suitable for fit individuals! Inside, the property is spacious and well kitted out, with everything a family might need books, games, piano, tv, films, hair dryer, cutlery, crockery, pans and oven ware, to name but a few! There was spare bed linen, plenty of hangers, wardrobe and drawer space. The welcome pack was most welcome too and contained lovely local items useful on arrival including tea, coffee etc. Thank you very much for an enjoyable week at Jurassic Sea View. My family and I fell in love with Lyme Regis!
Very clean and well equipped. Fantastic views and only 20 mins walk from town Secure garden for our 2 dogs was great.
Not wheelchair friendly. Lots of secure space in the back garden for little ones and pets. Home from home. We did walk into and out of town a couple of times but it is on a hill if you have mobility issues. Quiet culdesac so we enjoyed our stay. Lovely walk by the river into town and to the mill area where the Lyme Bay Microbrewery pub might just cause a delay in your progress!
Lovely home , bigger quilt on double bedroom , would definitely come back xxx
Christopher
Everything we needed for a great family holiday. Great location. Quiet road, close to high street and beach.
Every time I went into the downstairs cloakroom, I couldn't help but smile at the tiles

Lovely property. Clean, spacious and very comfortable.

We had a lovely family holiday here. The living accommodation here was great and practical for our multi generational situation including 2 toddlers and one person with a relatively recent unexpected hip replacement. If wed known when I booked that I would have had a fall we wouldnt have chosen somewhere with so many steps!. All the family loved Lyme Regis and the walk into the town down the hill and along the riverside. The Town Mill and the micro brewery were a great find as was the town with the level walk along the the promenade and the walk along the cob The provision of stair gates for the top and bottom of the stairs would be a welcome addition to the facilities We decided not to bring our dog with us in the end which we decided was a good move as although only a cockatoo she enjoys a good run around in the garden
The position of the property was ideal to be able to park your car on the drive, leave it there and walk into Lyme Regis. The hills are a little steep coming back but nothing too difficult, especially for the able bodied. The house is lovely and spacious and has everything you need. The welcome hamper was a really nice touch and full of lots of goodies. The views are wonderful from the lounge and smaller double bedroom lovely to sit in bed and watch the sunrises over the sea. Also from the front, enclosed patio. The only slight negative for us was, we found the garden a little disappointing it's really only a patio not a tiered garden. Also, the curtains window and shower in the bathroom could do with changing as one was mouldy and the other didn't fit the window fully. All in all we had a lovely week here and would definitely come back again. As a little side note for future guests if anyone struggles with the main steps up to the front door the steps behind the garage are far easier to use not so steep.

Beautiful property with all the amenities. 5 mins drive to beach.
Malcolm
This property has the most stunning view, it's breathtaking, and magical. The garden isn't very usable, due to being on a steep hill, but it's also really stunning to look at, and our dog loved exploring. We found the house extremely large, the piano and games room were my boys favourites. However, the house is a little cluttered, the bed linen and towels need an upgrade in quality, and the extremely steep steps upto the property would be an issue for most people. This is definitely a home from home, it just needs a touch of modernising.
The property was perfect for our family holiday. Our 3 year old grandchild loved all the dinosaurs in the garden, and there were plenty of toys in the study, to keep him amused at the startend of the day. A good selection of games available too. Our only issue, which is probably out of the owners hands, was the lack of recycling facilities. We ended up bringing our bottles home, as it felt criminal to put them in with the general rubbish. We struggled to find a bottle bank in Lyme Regis & didn't want to spend our holiday driving around trying to find one. That aside, we had a fantastic week
Excellent property , spacious , clean and well maintained . The location from the town was just right a few killer hills but kept us fit!
Caroline
Great house and great location. Would definitely return to this house.
Michael
We loved our stay at the house, we would book again when in Lyme.
Annette
We had a great week at this substantial comfortable home. Lots of space inside and out with lovely views of Lyme Bay. Its a beautiful 15 minute walk in to Lyme but the walk back is steeply uphill some of the way and is not for the faint hearted. Lyme itself is a pretty town with lots of independent shops. The sea swimming is particularly good. Ill be back again soon.
Joanna
Great holiday home in Lyme Regis. Lots of space. Stairs to access the property are steep and not really explained on the listing.

It was a lovely house We had a fantastic stay with the family Well equipped ... It was a lovely house We had a fantastic stay with the family Well equipped and very spacious Very steep steps to house and a very step up walk to beach
Very well equipped comfortable house. Only entries to house are by very steep steps. Listing should state it is not suitable for disabled. One of our party has difficulty walking and found it difficult.
