Oak Cottage, Bowness

The facilities were very good, with a wellequipped, spacious kitchen and a goodsized bathroom, lounge and bedrooms. The interior of the house was cleaned well by the cleaning team. The lounge had a stale smell, and the curtains, cushions and carpet could benefit from cleaning. The outside spaces were not well maintained, with some debris visible in the yard and at the front. A piece of wooden border had fallen away, and there were several exposed nails in an upright position, which could present a risk, particularly for dogs or children. Overall, the property has great potential but would benefit from better maintenance of the outdoor area

Oak cottage was lovely and cosy. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay and its very well located close to the centre of Bowness Thank you.

The cottage was lovely equipped with everything we needed, very clean and comfortable, well situated for walking into town and down to the lake. It could do with a little TLC in the front garden, plants overgrown and one of the slates on the steps had come off, but that is me being a bit picky, we had a fabulous 3 nights and would definitely stay again.

Comfortable cottage in a really good location for walking down to the shops and restaurants in Bowness. Comfortable bed huge! in the front bedroom and nice to have two bathrooms. The parking space is tight for a larger car as previously mentioned, but the house needs a bit of attention.. Kitchen bin lid needs fixing or a new bin previously reported in November in guest book, only 2 shelves in the fridge, top freezer draw won't open, front and back grids need unblocking, on a very wet week we had to paddle to the door, some of the steps to down to front door are loose, bit dangerous. A couple of days would sort all the little jobs out and make this pleasant cottage really nice.

Overall a lovely cottage recently very well refurbished. Well situated. Beds very comfy. It would have been useful to have antibac and basic cleaning materials,washing up liquid washing tablets. A caffetiere would have been useful also.

In an ideal location. Great property when taking dog with you. Tiled floor so didn't need to worry about mucky paws. Also has a small outside area. Lovely comfortable bed and cozy living room. Well equipped kitchen. We only used it to make breakfast but ideal for our purposes. So all in all ideal for a couple of nights whilst we enoyed walks and the local amenities. Thank you.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Only a 5 minute walk to the local shops and amenities, yet set back from the busy town in a quiet, peaceful location to relax. It had everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend and stay again when Im visiting the area.

It was a great property and so local to everything you needed, the cottage had all we could need in it and the beds were very comfortable! Would have been useful to have a key to the other door, the second key we had didnt work and to know which bin was for this property and where to put the bins to get it collected, we got lucky with this, would of been good to have some firewood included in the property to light the fire as it was pretty cold when we stayed but fixed by putting the heating on. Overall a very enjoyable stay, the smart tvs were a bonus! Thankyou!

Lovely cottage and the pictures dont do it justice as even better when you arrive. Lovely spacious kitchen fully equipped. Bedrooms and bathrooms great size and comfort. Lovely and clean and well presented. Steep steps on the front to access the property and parking tight but worked for us with a medium sized car.

We had a lovely stay. Everything we needed was there and the cottage was really clean.

Booked for a 70th birthday weekend away, 4 adults and our young baby. The cottage is located perfectly a quiet street but only a few minutes walk from shops, restaurants, bars and the lake. Oak cottage is very well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering stay. The addition of a second chair in the lounge was much appreciated. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Oak Cottage what a little gem of a find. .. From 1st opening the door we were amazed at how clean and well set up ...Absolutely everything you need ..Great outdoor space.. Location is great ..Quiet area ...only 1 thing the people who share the drive have a camper van parked so bit of a very tight squeeze to get a car in but not a problem if you only have 1 car but if two cars only l street parking permit could be a problem.. All in all would Absolutely recommend Oak Cottage ..

A great property in a great location. It was very comfortable, especially the sk bed. Large kitchen. Two large bedrooms one with ensuite. The only down side for us was the small settee in the lounge. Fortunately there were only two of us staying, not sure how four adults would have managed, and the steps at the front into the property which were very slippery. We will definitely stay again.

This cottage is absolutely stunning, everything in the cottage felt brand new. It would have been nice to have a starter pack or just a few logs for the fire, the log burner was a massive part of our choice when booking!

The cottage is in a fab location and was very comfortable for our family of four. I think a few minor tweaks would take the property from B to an A like a rejig of the sitting room layoutfurniture, sorting the curtainsblinds in the bedrooms and better ventilation in the bathrooms. I would rebook this property, which is the true test of whether it is a good holiday rental.

Fab property in a perfect location for Bowness facilities and a great base for the Lakes. The property has all creature comforts to make the stay as easy as possible. If anything could be improved its perhaps seating arrangements for 4 adults in the lounge, the sofa and one chair are technically OK but a little squashed. Perhaps a large bean bag could be an option then it could be easily moved around without being too imposingfixed as an item of furniture might. Some of the window openings could be fixed a little as ropes on sash window in front bed are not functioning properly. Fixing the front garden gate to replace missing slat and so that the gate can be locked closed, would definitely be more secure for dogs. These are details overall everything is great.

We are just back from a 3 night stay and had a lovely time. The bed was huge and so comfortable. The cottage was clean bright and airy. My only criticism would be as a dog friendly cottage it would have been nice for the garden to be secure, it did express it wasnt secure in the description so its not a complaint .

I am very disappointed with this cottage. Although marketed as being able to accommodate 4 people, it really only has lounge space for 2 people. The TV downstairs did not work so I had to watch the TV in bed which was far from ideal. I did complain to the you but had no response.

Thankyou for letting us stay in your cottage we had a lovely holiday. The cottage itself is nice and homely with all the mod cons,and wifi was great to keep kids entertained on a night. It was very clean the beds were super comfy. We couldn't ask for a better cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay and found the location the be amazing! To improve it further, the bedrooms were quite hot so it could do with a fan being available.

Outside of the property is looking a little tired, flaking paint, old patio furniture. Inside the house though was lovely, clean, bright and well appointed with big comfy beds, quality bedding and nice bathroom. The allocated parking space was VERY tight, two out of three of us couldnt get the car in but the on street parking with the pass used. Oak Cottage is in a great location and a quiet area.

We really enjoyed our stay, thank you. All as described and perfect for our needs in a great location. In terms of improvements, the bathroom needs a new blind as it has mould growth not in keeping with the rest of a very clean property. The twin bedroom blind has a broken cord which while still operable needs a fix.

Very comfortable home from home. Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean! We will definitely be back!

Lovely, modern, cosy cottage. Very comfortable and clean. Made our evenings very relaxed after a day out exploring with the kids.

The property had everything you needed and more. There was everything you could wish for in the kitchen and thank you for the little extras. Everywhere was very clean and smelt lovely. Had a fantastic comfortable holiday.

A well maintained 2 bedroom property close to local amenities. It benefits from an en suite shower room and house bathroom all recently installed to a high standard. Modern spacious kitchen with dining table, dishwasher and washerdryer. Access to front door via steps with outdoor seatingdining, split level secure garden and parking space for small car. Wooden gate to steps in need of minor repair. Mainly used back door to enter and exit the property via a small paved yard fenced and gated. Selection of board games in comfortable lounge. I would recommend this cottage to others.

Lovely house, very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our week's stay. Unfortunately it was exceptionally hot when we arrived and the house took a long time to cool down, likely because we couldn't open all of the windows to let air in overnight which would've helped to cool us all down. Could do with another sofa in the living room as it would be a tight squeeze if there were 4 adults in the room. Aside from that, the cottage is really lovely and we would recommend it, ideal location and really well kept cottage.
