Enjoyed our stay. The parking area was great as we had a couple of cars. The rooms were spacious and tastefully dressed. The garden was perfectly secure and safe for our two small dogs. We were given a warm welcome by the owner on arrival who was doing a small maintenance job. The bungalow is in a peaceful area so we totally relaxed. A couple of extra bin bags would have been useful as we had a lot of rubbish.

Lovely stay. Super location close to seahouses. Really dog friendly as the garden was fully secure and lots of bowls left at the property. 3 good sized bedrooms for everyone.

Nice property in a good location. Some maintenance issues need attended to kitchen tap, couple of locations where the cleaner should have done a better job, but overall a very good property that we wouldnt hesitate to book again. Seahouses and the surrounding area especially the beaches well worth a visit.

Just had a lovely week away in Southfield Lodge. 5 minutes walk to the main part of Seahouses. Lodge very spacious and comfortable with everything needed while there. We found the property clean on the surface but could do with more attention to detail or deeper clean. There are bags left for you at the end of your stay to pop dirty towels in and they ask you to strip beds which when we did we found the pillow protectors etc could do with either washing or replacing. The pop up plug in the main bathroom sink got stuck and wouldnt come back up, you could see this had been a previous problem but not repaired. Front door very stiff to open also. Small suggestion would be to put a tv in the ensuite bedroom like the other main bedroom. Other than that a nice place!

Had a lovely weekend in Southfield Lodge, beds are very comfortable & had everything we needed. The only issue is the shower pressure is terrible but it will not stop us returning.

Fantastic house, immaculately clean, top quality standard of furnishing highly recommend. Owners were extremely helpful. Weve already booked our next visit.

Really comfortable, well equipped, spacious accommodation on a quiet residential street. Great enclosed garden for our two dogs. Hopefully looking to rebook this accommodation and next door, for a family get together next year. Thank you for a great break away.

This was a lovely holiday cottage, everything you could possibly need, very comfortable and quiet. Lovely enclosed garden for our little dog. We loved it that much we came home and booked for the same time next year. Little tip the cutlery drawer is hidden under the hob, inside the big drawer. The owner was lovely when we had to ring to ask about this. Excellent cottage highly recommended.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Nice quiet area but only 5 min walk from the harbour and all the shops. All the bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. Plenty of seating for all of us to sit on a night. We had 3 cars but parking was not a problem. We will be back. Heather Todd

Southfield Lodge was a perfect base for our holiday in Seahouses. We found it clean and comfortable for our family myself and my husband, our daughter and her partner and our 2 grandsons. The boys found the garden great for playing with their dog. The adults liked the huge kitchendining room. If I was being really picky some blinds or curtains at the French doors would make it less like a goldfish bowl at night when the light was on. We have booked again for next year.

Lovely bungalow beds were very comfortable stove could do with updating but on the whole a great stay. Only problem is the gate at the side is low and with two nosey dogs it was a challenge

Absolutely beautiful bungalow. We have had the best time here, very comfortable and catered for your every need. Centrally located being only a five minute walk into the centre of Seahouses and a great base to explore other villages. We will definitely be returning

A really well maintained, clean and super comfortable cottage. My dad has some mobility issues but he was really well catered for in this lovely place. Its very well positioned for the centre of Seahouses and isnt on the main road, we had previously stayed at another cottage on said main road and we found this one to be much quieter the garden was just perfect for our dogs, it was very secure and was a lovely sun trap in the evenings. It has ample space for two cars and really easy to access and park. We cooked a few nights and found we had everything we needed, the air fryer was very useful maybe pack some liners though as its well used so sticks a bit, not that this was an issue for us x We spent most of the week walking our dogs on Beadnell beach, as it was easy access for my dad and a really clean space, you can walk all the way over to Embleton bay when the tide is out. We loved the Ship inn and the Black Swan in the village, as well as the landing in Beadnell all which served really great food. One thing to add is that we found the beds SUPER comfortable! We slept so well and think all the fresh air helped! We absolutely loved our stay xx thank you!!

A very pleasant property, well equipped and in a good position for the town centre. We had an issue with one of the showers which was immediately dealt with by the owner. The plumber was there within minutes ! Nice garden, outside space. Parking for two cars as well. All in all a very nice stay, thank you.

Lovely cottage in a great location. It was roomy, we loved the garden and parking for two cars. We enjoyed being close to the beach and having the amenities of Seahouses. The cottage was warm and clean. The only problem for us was the wifi was not reliable. For some on holiday this might not matter but we have two children studying for major exams in the summer and they needed to work some of the time. They couldn't do this as the Wifi was so on and off. We did contact the owner who said he would have it looked at but nothing changed, it got worse as the week went on. Also the dishwasher filled with water on the first use, the owner did buy a replacement and offered to fit it during the week but we decided to leave it so there was a lot of washing up!

Its our second stay at Southfield Lodge and it won't be our last. Fab location and only a 5 minute walk into the middle of Seahouses. Lovely garden for the dogs its always out of season when we visit so too cold to sit outside. My only gripe is the kitchen layout. It doesn't really flow and theres not enough bench space, but it's absolutely not the end of the world or an easy fix. Overall the property is really nice. Warm, cosy, nicely decorated and a perfect base to explore. 100 recommend.

Great location. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Southfield Lodge was clean, spacious, beds were comfortable, we all slept really well. We had everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen. Tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival and even towels and bowls for dogs if needed. Plenty of parking and only a short walk into Seahouses. Would highly recommend, we will return next year.

Well located on a peaceful road. Comfortable parking for two vehicles. The enclosed rear garden was excellent for our dogs to go out.

We had an amazing stay. Cottage was very clean, great facilities and welcome pack was a lovely touch. Lovely outdoor space to sit, dry wetsuits and have the dog out. Only small negative was the extremely small microwave for family of six. But loved the air fryer!!

My friend and I thought this was an excellent property for our purposes. We liked that it was situated on a quiet street with its own private parking that was easy to get into and out of since there wasn't a lot of traffic. It was very comfortable and convenient with one or two exceptions. As older visitors, we found the couch to be very difficult to get up from and the tubshower combo difficult to climb into, but that probably wouldn't bother most people, and there was a large walkin shower available. It is a large property and though we only used two of the three bedrooms, larger groups would have plenty of room to spread out. We spend several minutes trying to locate the cutlery which is secreted in a drawer inside the cooking utensils drawer beneath the cooktop, a configuration we hadn't encountered before, but once we'd overcome that difficulty, we had everything we could need for meals at home. We appreciated that we were within easy walking distance of Main Street, approximately 10 minutes or less from the harbor area and with several good restaurants, takeaways, and chippies within easy reach. The coop has the usual necessities and there is a butcher close by, though you would need to go further afield to find a good selection of groceries. Nearby Bamburg has a good butchers with prepared meals on offer. We liked being within easy reach of day trips to St Abb's Head, Alnwick, Warkworth, Cragside, Hadrian's Wall, Belsay Hall, etc. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again and highly recommend it to others.

Lovely property and location. Very much appreciated the welcome milk and biscuits too after a long journey it was great to have a cuppa straight away. Definitely be rebooking.

Beds really comfy altho only used one. Location excellent. Front window very dirty and very clear to see as south facing. General cleanliness ok but skirting boards and hidden areas very dusty. Lino in kitchen needs changing as very tired and lumpy. Did enjoy our stay though and everything worked fine. Nice touch with easter eggs.

The property was clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden was a pleasant space and very useful as we have dogs. The location was great, both for using the facilities in Seahouses and ease of exploring further. A downside was the EV charging. This was only an external 3pin plug, which is totally unsuitable for anyone with a full EV. We booked this property partly for this facility and we were disappointed that the property was advertised as having EV charging, when in effect it doesnt. Hopefully Northumbria CottagesSykes will in the future provide more detailed information on charging facilities, to avoid this disappointment and inconvenience.

We have stayed in many holiday homes all over northern England and have to say this is Number 1. Based on how clean, comfortable, easy to warm and quiet the place was. Every possible thing we could want for was there. The safe garden for our two dogs was invaluable. The garden would be lovely in the summer months. Parking for 2 cars and lots of room. Bed linen and towels scrupulously clean and fresh. It is only a 5 minute walk to the shopstakeawaysbarsseafront, and approximately 3 mile one way to Bamburgh up the lovely beach. I would particularly like to thank the owner for their very generous welcome pack it really started our two families off superbly on what was a truly great short break. Thank you.

Our second Christmas stay at Southfield Lodge. The cottage has everything you could wish for in the kitchen and comfortability. Brilliant secure garden for our 2 dogs. The Christmas Hamper was a pleasant surprise. We are regular visitors to this area. We would have loved to book again for next Christmas, but someone has already beaton us to it.

Really great time this is the second year we have stayed at Southfield Lodge. Is is ideal for our needs and added benefit of one level for older grand parents who were with us this time and a 9 month old in a baby walker. Very clean and well presented. We will be back.
